In authentic Goan Sorak our ancestors did not use tomato but only onion with salt was crushed in hand n kept aside for some time Secondly it was not made of coconut milk the coconut was ground in the spices like our normal fish curry Ancestors used pots only n firewood to cook food coz there were no aluminium handis n gas Sorry dont take to heart it was just my opinion coz years back I hv seen my ancestors cooking
You have to change with time as fire wood is not permitted as felling of trees is unconstitutional .about 🍅 and coconut milk is optional. depend on the availability.Any way by I'm also aware of the original recipie ...no offence here.god bless and thank you .I eat the curry with jowar bhakri 🙏
Pepper gives flavour to fish curry hence the imaginary taste of fish while eating simple food rice and curry (sorak ) as for tomato 🍅 it's a lighter taste for tanginess
Please say a prayer of Thanksgiving 'The Grace before Meal' before you eat any meal and never ever put your elbow on the table while you eat... It's table manners..
Your recipe for sorak was great. However, when you served yourself, it is typical of Goans to eat just plain rice or chapatti in huge quantities with curry and a piece of fish and/or a teaspoon of pickle without a single cooked vegetable or salad to balance the meal nutritionally. No wonder most Goans and Indians in general have huge pot bellies. Watch the general Goan population. Sign of insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome leading to Diabetese. Just huge amounts of rice, curry fish fills the belly but does not produce long term good health. Vegetables should be a main stay of every meal.
Excellent cooking.Congrats

This is definitely not a goan curry because
1. Goan curry we don't use black pepper
2. We don't use tomato
Pepper gives flavour to fish curry hence the imaginary taste of fish while eating simple food rice and curry (sorak ) as for tomato 🍅 it's a lighter taste for tanginess
