@@arnobbaset4723 you can check BIS, 2012, WHO, EPA and ICMR Standard ok. Thank you 😊
Thank you sir for your great explanation. I have one question. I got a larger number as WQI ( above 5000).. can it be possible? I use E coli as a parameter and its permissible level i selected was 3. Sir can you pls lemme know the reason for this?
Please sir, can I use more than one reference to know the standards at one time, for example BIS and WHO ?
Yes you can. You can confirm this from literature related to this kind of study. Ok. Thank you 😊
I like every single one of your content, but I'm not getting notifications on your recent publications. Thank you again for this insightful session on WQI calculation. Please keep sharing your knowledge as said by Abert Einstein, . May God bless and keep you fit for everyone. Thank you and Namaste 🙏🙏🙏
Wow oh wow. Thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement and appreciation. I appreciate it very much Thank you so much once again 🙏
May I get the link for the results taken ?
Sorry there is no link.
Thank you 😊
Sir, Can I calculate salinity in this WQI? If yes, may I know the ideal value of salinity please?
I'm.not sure for salinity specifically
Haven't come across such
I think other method is suitable for salinity
Thabk you
Thank you sir!
Your are welcome and appreciate it very much Thank you 😊 🙏
Great presentation
All the best for more lectures &videos sir.:-)
Appreciate it so much. Thanks for the motivation
Why the procedure to calculate Vn/Sn value for pH is different?
this is a very good video, however could you use the sample value instead of the mean value for the different sites. and also is this index only used exclusively for drinking water or can be it used for samples form river water?
Thank you @Faten Bazine. Your sample value will be a one-time analysis value but your mean value will be an average of three-time analysis value. So it's better to use mean value. Next answer is yes you can use it for determining the river water quality as well. Thanks @Faten and all the best
Thanks for this informative vedio. Could you please tell how to calculate hpi index.
I have a question in your HPI calculation you assume K value 1 , then why water quality index you calculate K value.
They are 2 different from one another. Developed by different experts and interpret results for heavy metals(hpi) and physical and chemical(wqi) parameters. All the best and Thank you 😊
very good explanation. can you make a video on IWQI. then it will very helpfull for me.
Thank you so much @anirbanmitra7938
I will look into it. Thanks a lot again.
Sir Please tell the ideal value for alkalnity, hardness
It all 0
Only ph and Do have ideal value in this wqi method
Thank you and keep supporting my channel my friend
Thank you 😊
1. As per standard TH is to be 200 but you are using 300. please clarify that. 2. For sodium as per WHO recommendation as 20 mg/L. is it correct to use this value?
Hi @ snowlin. The difference in TH acceptable limit is because 1991 drinking water specification (First Revision, 1991) is 300mg/l and second Revisoin i.e. 2012 is 300mg/l.
EPA guidance level for sodium in drinking water is 20 mg/L
Thank You
Sir plz tell me if we calculate BOD for any water bodies Whether we will get 2 day Bod value high or 5day Bod value high, and also as time passes Bod values increase or decrease
BOD is for 5 days incubation. So with time DO content decreases.Thank you
@@JustLikeASteam sir if we use dilution factor the 5day BoD greater than example 2 day BOD is it right or wrong
@@PavanKumar-sq9xj
Get it clear
BOD values of water samples is obtained by finding it DO concentration
Direct or Dilution method
Level of DO is expected to decrease after incubation Thank you
sir, which website take from this parametric data
Hi @Komal Malik. Thank you for writing and there is no website as such.
Thank You
How good is he? Wonderfull Wonderfull Wonderfull!
Hi I believe you kind enough. Thank you so much. It means a lot Appreciate it 🙏
Thank you 😊
Congrats 80 subscribe 😊😊
I compare my water sample result WHO standard should i write sn value ?
Yes you can
Could you kindly tell me where you read that the ideal DO value is 14?
Yes kindly see relevant papers where Brown et al WQI was used, you will find it mention there ok. All the best. Thank you 😊
Can we get the excel sheet that was used as a template or for reference purposes?
@YU_GN sir while calculating QPh some times we get negative sign and if u say neglect and reason behind neglecting the - ve sign in Qph
Sir reply plz
it becasue of the modulus [()] sign. Thank you

For Sn either we use drinking standard or inland surface water standard for calculating WQI for river water sample? And can we use any parameter that have standard value using this method? Please reply @

You are welcome my friend
Thank you so much
Thank you so much for this video, sir. It is gonna be so helpful for my Master's Research. If possible, can you please upload video on Water Quality Modeling QUAL2k ?
I am so grateful it is of great help to you @Nemboi Haokip.
Appreciate your appreciation and I will try in the near future.
Thank you so much again.
@@JustLikeASteam sir, is it okay if I get my “Wn” as 1.000000339??
@@nemboihaokip9575 Normally when you sum the Wn value it is equal to Unity.
However, in your case, I would suggest you one more time cross-check your calculation and even if the value remains the same, use Ms Excel to keep the values as two-digit after the decimal, if it equal to 1, then it is fine. thank you
@@JustLikeASteam thank you so much sir.

in case of pH, Qn may become negative, if its less than 7, what to do? kindly suggest
Still works the same. Ignore the negative sign. Eg 4.6 pH.
Qph 1.5. Thank you 😊
Where did you draw the analytical data one more time? The very last slide you showed for calculated WQI
Apologies I'm getting your questions.
Wonderful explanation 👏 👌 👍, so in case we include DO into the calculation, we have to consider 14 as ideal value, am I right sir?
First of all, I'm grateful 🙏 Thank you so much Sir. It means a lot to me.
And yes, you are right
Thank you 😊
Is this method can be used for biological parameters like E -coli?, when I was used this method according to your great explanation, the final WQI value is very large, because of maximum permissible level of E-coli is 0.1. is this method can be used only physicochemical parameters only??
We have use parameters like Iron with 0.3 permissible limit. It works. So you can use any paramters and all the best
@@JustLikeASteam but Dr Eugene, if ecoli permisiable level is zero. We cannot use this weighted arithmatic method. It gives 1/si =infinity. What I can do for that Dr? Also I cannot use CCME method because of one time sampling.
Express your water quality data graphically as mean plus-minus standard deviation value. All the best. Thank You
@@JustLikeASteam can you suggest the refferance video for that.
are you ready to share the excel sheet you are using?
How to calculate the same of one site but different season...
Hi @ Pushpanathan. The water samples collected from the same sampling site will display different readings during different seasons.
IF you merge it, then you won't get water quality variation but only the average value of any specific parameters. thank you
Thank You, Very helpful.
Can you kindly refer me with a video to understand "linear regression equation between the WQI index and time" ??
Dear Noushin, I am much grateful to hear that the video has helped you in your related work. With respect to your request, I will be honest with you, I haven't done any work merging WQI with regression as yet, I will look out and let you know whenever I find one ok. Thanks a million

How about EC, DO, temperature 🤔? If, any proof ? Like, journal....
Yes you can. For DO it similar to pH..pH 7 DO is 14, the rest is same. You can check WQI papers lots are there. Thank you 😊
Thank you so much sir
Appreciate it so much Anjaly
Well explained!
Thank you so much.
Where could we get Sn value for electric conductivity, DO, phosphate ( as I have gone through the standards of BIS as well as WHO, I didn't fine any standard value for those parameters). Please also tell which standard value we put in Sn( permissible or acceptable). Also can you please tell which value should be used as Sn for pH ( 6.5 or 8.5) and why....... please reply ASAP
It depends on what standards you adopted eg. WHO/EPA/BIS etc.
However, some parameters doesn't have standard limits. In that case, you cannot incorporate it in WQI. PH is 8.5. Thabk you
@@JustLikeASteam What is the standard limit of e.coli? can we incorporate e.coli in WQI?
@@mdbayezidislam4678 Hi
If there is standard limit set our respective country recommend agency, yes we can.
Thank you 😊
@@JustLikeASteam For E.coli, the standard limit is zero according to WHO, in that case, 1/Sn calculation is impossible.
@@mdbayezidislam4678 if that the case then no point of adding it to WQI calculations. Thank you 😊
sir for classification of water quality there are 2 table : 1) form 0-100 2) and 0-300 what is the difference between them?
hello sir i am calclating water quality index for e. coli and Sn is zero cfu/100 ml and because of which 1/sn is showing error because 1/0 is undefined plz help in this regard
Hi, due to sn is 0, paramters as such are not incorporated in wqi calculations. So don't incorporate it ok . Thank you 😊
Sir i was calculated these parameters , Bod,cod,ph,Tds,Do, Conductivity, temperature for kali river sample using this parameters can i get Water quality index and how to obtain WQI plz tell me sir becz we are doing project
You please first go through the concept of WQI (link is provided in the description above) then you can follow this video step by step for calculating your study WQI. IF you seriously follow and understand these 2 videos, you will be able to calculate WQI. I wish you all the best and Thank you
