Hello Dr. Eugene, thank you very much for the slow and clear explanation on how to calculate the Water Quality Index with that specific popular method. I want to complement the presentation by saying that the ideal value for dissolved oxygen in water could be 14.6 mg/L for 0 salinity and 0 C temperature. I read this figure in a journal publication and in a table presented in the appendix of the book "Water Supply and Pollution Control" 6th Ed. by Viessmann and Hammer. Again thank you for educating us in a potentially summingly very useful water quality index. God bless and cordial regards.

The WHO standards slightly differs from BIS Standards. However, researches sometime use the former or the latter and sometime combined. I request you to kindly redo the calculation part.
I don't think because of any particular parameters the reading shoot up, because in the same case, we have combine say 8 to 9 water physico chemical parameters and 1 or 2 heavy metals where permissible limit (say, 0.01 or 0.3 ppm), the final value is still within the Selected WQI method.

Yes, the values to be used for wqi calculation are mean values.
For different seasons calculation of WQI should be also different
