THE DANISH ROYAL LIBRARY | THE BLACK DIAMOND | COPENHAGEN

If you enjoy books or modern architecture, I recommend paying a visit to Copenhagen's Royal Library. The original structure was built in the first decade of the twentieth century, and the gleaming new addition was built in the last decade of the same century. The new addition faces the harbour. Its exterior is polished black granite, which is so reflective that you can see the blue sky and clouds on its surface. The middle third of the front is a window that runs the length of the building and shines like a diamond - hence, The Black Diamond.
