I feel like this is a standard tcg build... they have a lot more to offer in master duels: -astrograph -electrumite with wild hope and curtain raiser -easy access to vfd through vanisher + lvl9 vanilla fusion -chicken game for drawing and popping it if u dont need to free up a scale -pendulum magician engine: timestar search magician souls -Baobabboons into cherubini, cheru send carbineddon, carbineddon summon tuner, make halq -SMOKE GRENADE OF THE THIEF we are just scraping the surface, especially with a power play like magician souls eff resolving = +4; magician souls got ashed? Aight, still a +2
I’m new to pendulum decks, stopped playing around dragon ruler times and came back cause of master duel. What ratios do you recommend for the penmag engine? (How many harmonizings, pencalls, other mags etc) and do you recommend chrono or nah
budget alternatives for: UR mythical beast/Selene target: Medium of the Ice Barrier or Odd-Eyes Dissolver UR Magicians Souls: Anteatereating Ant, play Resonance Insect to search for it (and Retaliating C to search that, or Maxx C) UR Upstart or Chicken Game: Painful Decision, Pot of Desires (or to go even lower rarity: Duelist Alliance from the pend magician structure deck, to search Luster Pendulum, Pendulum Halt, Pendulum Paradox) also Grampulse for the extra deck, so you can plus more off Baobaboon
Note, if you want extra space in your extra deck, odd-eyes absolute dragon can be cutted by adding Performapal Odd-Eyes Dissolverto your main deck, a card you can send of magicians' soul cost and revive with your selene line instead of something like jackal. Dissolver will then be able to activate its effect and fusion summon with a monster you control or in your pendulum zone, allowing you to summon a Vortex dragon most of the time, or a Mithirilium if needed, using your left scale that is often a dead ressource.
Hmm Kinda dont like this list, electrumite plus astrograph and all the packages you mentioned give you a much better grind game imo and metalfoes especially thrives in simplified board states. This list is very streamlined though which is kinda nice, especially for someone just learning the deck
At that point you might aswell just play an actually viable pendulum list instead of the metalfoes cards. This is as close to a playable "pure" metalfoes builf you're gonna get.
Why Upstart and not Chicken Games? Chicken Games stays face-up on the field and you can send it to the GY with Magicians Souls if you are in a situation in which you only have 1 Metalfoes Trap to send.
Quick note that Cross Sheep's effect is actually slightly better than described in video as it depends on what it points to when the summon occurs, not necessarily what the card summoned was; thus if you have it already pointing to a fusion and haven't used the effect yet that turn, you can get the fusion effect by special summoning to it's other arrow. You can also use this fact to get off multiple of it's effects at once (e.g. let's say you have it pointing to the Xyz monster in this deck and you summon a fusion to the other arrow, you'll get the summon from grave AND your opponents monsters will lose 700 ATK )
I agree, thankfully, it seems Konami is finally pushing Pendulums forward. There are some interesting Pendulum archetypes and tech card that are not in Master Duel yet that could shake things a bit for Pendulum decks
As a metalfoe player who tries a lot of different styles of the deck, this is impressive. I'm gonna give this a try! I love Metalfoes as it has a lot of different tech that it can be combined with and has a simple but fun play style.
This is a Great Decklist for new players to sink their teeth into Pendulums. The Deck shows most if not all the essentials when it comes to Pendulums, it gives you the Staples like Selene, Electrumite, Accesscode and Souls, and gives you enough generic staples to warrant running in other Pend Decks like Upstart+Souls for Endymion, Astrograph + Electrumite for any Pendulum Deck, Extra Deck cards for Pend Magicians and all of the above for a deck like Solfachord.
This was my very first pendulum deck I absolutely adore this deck so thank you for making an updated version of this cuz I have been trying to figure out how to play this deck again for a very long time since the boss of electrum

Metalfoes was actually the first deck I played when returning to the TCG nine months ago after I was enthralled by your Ten Minute Testing back in May 2021. However, I tried to make it work on a $150 budget without the $300 play set of Magicians’ Souls at the time and failed miserably going 0-4 for a month straight before moving on to other decks. I haven’t touched a Pendulum card since then but seeing how the core in Master Duel is ridiculously cheap makes me want to give it another try digitally and if it goes well I might finally get those Magicians’ Soul’s now that they’ve had a short-printed reprint in Brothers of Legend. Thank you!

I'm still so happy MBT realized he actually liked a Pendulum archetype, Metalfoes are SO fun. I've been messing with a Souls-less version while I try to justify the 90 goddamn UR gems it would take to get access to them, and HO BOY there's just SO MUCH you can do with this deck. The Cyber Infinity lines are still there, but also with access to Electrumite you can even dip into the old Zefra Divine Strike setup with just two slots in the Main deck to dodge a lot of powerful cards that would otherwise dunk on even your highest powered boards. LOVE this deck.
Infinity is a meme in metalfoes in tcg: 2 extra deck slots for a single negate accessible through hard drawing? In master duel it is even worse given all the other options available

I knew about these guys before playing Master Duel because thanks to YGOpro, this and Zefra were the archetypes that caught my attention about Pendulum decks. Sadly I don't have the handtraps or Upstart Goblin, once I get more CP I'll craft the deck, it looks great , I got most of the Metalfoes and never dismantled them. Edit: Missing Magician's Soul as well... Funuy hos that is better in many decks other than Dark magician

I'd love if you'd do one of these on Madolche'. I just got back into Yugioh because of Master Duel and was able to cobble it together and I'm having a blast but boy howdy I probably picked the worst possible thing to try to relearn this game with when the last time I played Chaos Sorcerer was a serious problem.
Altight so I tried out the deck. Very fun, I actually think this is my new favourite. I was only able to craft to Magicians Soul and I miss a Celene so I haven't really done the spell generation aspect of the deck yet. But it's a super fun solitaire experience to be sure.

You can't play this without electrum. Dump the summoners art and upstarts and run etele and unexpected dai, let's you go into electrum easy. And where are your astrograph and chronograph??
at 840 why not link the baobaboon and mithrillium for IP so you could convert absolute into vortex on the opponents turn getting a bounce from vortex and a spin from unicorn?
metalfoes is a pretty flexible archetype. it blends well with anything that likes level 2-7 monters that also has cards that plus when destroyed. Like i play metalfoes kozmo and its super fun
I need the advice from my fellow MBT viewers, I don't ask Farda or Cimo viewers because they probably don't put their grimy dirty hands into dusty and gimmicky decks as much as you guys... So here we go: I started master duel and ended up with pretty much everything from the world chalice/world legacy with the exception of orcusts (I think, I'm not sure), and Aleister the invoker (I got him on royal rarity or whatever in a master pack, I had to go for him, proceeded to get Mechaba in royal too, figures) so I ended up having a not perfect but pretty good Mekk Knight Invoked deck, alas, everytime I see a pendulum deck I feel tempted to try it out and have fun with it, to the point of believing that resetting my account altogether os worth it(it's F2P so I don't feel bad). Should I do reset my account to play pendulums or commit to the world legacy/world chalice/krawlers/crusadia/mekk-knights/orcust/guardragon thing I have been doing? It is important to note that I don't even know how to build jank with those decks, I can do it with Pendulum no problem though.

Great list! I’ve been testing a 50 card list with Super Poly and the Vanilla Metalfoes in the ED that needs a monster with 3000 Atk or less. Been great for when I have to go 2nd against Drytron or Tri-Brigade
Honestly, I would steal this deck as someone who likes pendulum but was never really into the whole silly long combos though multiple negates cause I question if those are worth playing. plus metalfoes is one of my favorite pendulums aesthetically.
tbh i just hate running a spellcaster engine entirely. i feel like with just electrumite and astrograph you can skip 3x abductor 3x souls 1x jackal so you can run the scout/monolith package to access cdi, and i don't feel like giving up cdi access is worth the deckslots nor all the ur crafts the magiician's souls engine requires, electrumite, astro and maxx c plus you enough. also 3 upstarts is absurd, same reason 3 chicken game is absurd, you have so much search (every metalfoes effect, popping combinations and bismugears, etc.) you don't need to powerdraw. it's like the @ignister decks that run desires for some reason rather than just a 1-of of ai contact. I think the list is good but imo it's a big blow to give up the cdi line and having to run a fucking sunavalon link for baobaboon's sake, (i'd rather run that other metalfoes link monster over the sunavalon card or controller, if not just more fusions, also what's the point of masquerena?) i just feel it not only makes the deck needlessly expensive, it makes it much too complex to pilot as well. the electrumite/astro/cdi build is harder to fuck up.
This deck doesn't do too great without links to enable the pendulum mechanic or build interruptions. For fusion based events you want stuff that isn't reliant on link summoning to do anything.
Boy, Sunavalon Dry Ass sure is my favorite Link-1 monster that doesn't search the field spell.

pend decks are slippery. any monster can be activated as a scale instead, then you pend summon your bricks. just break through boards

It is important to note that I don't even know how to build jank with those decks, I can do it with Pendulum no problem though.

Great list! I’ve been testing a 50 card list with Super Poly and the Vanilla Metalfoes in the ED that needs a monster with 3000 Atk or less. Been great for when I have to go 2nd against Drytron or Tri-Brigade

Honestly, I would steal this deck as someone who likes pendulum but was never really into the whole silly long combos though multiple negates cause I question if those are worth playing.
plus metalfoes is one of my favorite pendulums aesthetically.
Why not use chicken game for a draw and pop fodder?
I had such a bad time playing against metalfoes back in mr3, but they eventually grew on me.

tbh i just hate running a spellcaster engine entirely. i feel like with just electrumite and astrograph you can skip 3x abductor 3x souls 1x jackal so you can run the scout/monolith package to access cdi, and i don't feel like giving up cdi access is worth the deckslots nor all the ur crafts the magiician's souls engine requires, electrumite, astro and maxx c plus you enough. also 3 upstarts is absurd, same reason 3 chicken game is absurd, you have so much search (every metalfoes effect, popping combinations and bismugears, etc.) you don't need to powerdraw. it's like the @ignister decks that run desires for some reason rather than just a 1-of of ai contact.
I think the list is good but imo it's a big blow to give up the cdi line and having to run a fucking sunavalon link for baobaboon's sake, (i'd rather run that other metalfoes link monster over the sunavalon card or controller, if not just more fusions, also what's the point of masquerena?) i just feel it not only makes the deck needlessly expensive, it makes it much too complex to pilot as well. the electrumite/astro/cdi build is harder to fuck up.

This deck doesn't do too great without links to enable the pendulum mechanic or build interruptions.
For fusion based events you want stuff that isn't reliant on link summoning to do anything.

Electrumite AND Astrograph, however, is a guaranteed negate.
