Hi Owen & Lynn! So glad you were able to get your dock repaired and the whole thing didn't end up rushing downstream. It's bitter cold here today; sun is shining but so very cold with a little snow that came down last night. Your SouthWest trip sounds like it will be fun and most definitely a good time of year to seek out warmer temps. I second the question regarding your Trek e-bike Lynn. I looked online and couldn't find anything on your Amazon page either, and then went to Trek website. Saw there were 2 models for the type of bike you bought, but not sure which one it is? If you could let us know, it would be much appreciated. Hope you're all well, stay well and hugs for sweet Maggie too. Take care.
My bike is a Townie Go make by Electra which was bought out by Trek. Here’s a link to the one I have. www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/bikes/electra-bikes/electra-e-bikes/townie-go/townie-go-7d-step-thru/p/35273/?colorCode=yellowvisibilityI
Thank you all for the camera update! Sorry to hear you had the weather/dock concerns. I too will be anxious for your preparation for your trip out west.
Lordie, that river is raging, thank goodness only your dock was in harms way and you were high and dry...Thank you for sharing the possibilities of 2024.
Boy, I know I wanted to see some video of your lake place but not this way! Hope the dock is repaired by now. Looking forward to seeing your adventures in 2024.
I wish I had known the a) lane assist tip and b) tip to set the suspension to the tightest setting. We just got the Stage 2 Van Compass + leaf upgrade at FVG in JAX and I drove to NC on the windiest days a week ago! I'll definitely remember these tips for the next time though. Thanks!
Heck of a storm season for sure. El Nino... Be glad to see it go. Glad your dock wasn't a loss, and the fellas could save it til a later fix. Enjoyed the Q n A. Sounds like some nice plans coming up. 🙂👍
One place I think y’all would love (if the timing is right on the trip out or back) is Wichita Mountains NWR, SW of Oklahoma City near Lawton, OK. Red rock mountains rising out of the surrounding plains, herds of bison, longhorn cattle, and elk, great hiking and scenery. I haven’t camped there, but there is a campground on the reserve and several private ones not too far away.
Glad to hear you all are fine after the storm. Sounds like the docks been secured. Best wishes for this winter season and the plans for travel in the coming months. Enjoying the product reviews. Need and all season, waterproof, all-terrain scooter with all the power to handle distance and hills. Have they sent ya one yet? 😊
Looking forward to your 2024 trip out west. If you’ve never stopped at the meteor crater off I-40 near Winslow AZ, you should check it out. It’s stunning and well worth the stop.
Wow! Rescuing that dock was amazing! Thanks for showing us that process. We have considered checking out the eclipse. A total eclipse will be amazing. I wish we would get some snow. We just lost power for several hours and a good number of tree limbs in the storm last week. Stay safe! ❤🐾🙏 Jane in SC
So glad it was only the doc. Safe travels to you. Can't wait to see your adventures. Have a great time. Stay warm. It's starting to get cold here in Maine.
Im in Tucson-would love it if you have a meetup! In Tucson great things to visit: Sabino Canyon-take the tram up and walk down. Desert Museum-great exhibits of everything Sonoran desert. Good camping-Catalina State Park, Gilbert Ray County park, Cactus Country RV Park. While at Organ Pipe NM take a drive into Ajo for lunch. Enjoy this beautiful desert!
Hey y’all. This is a repost without web links We love your videos! Here are some things we like to do out west- Ouray, Colorado Stay at riverside rv site at Ouray Riverside Resort on the Uncompahgre River with mountain views. Restaurant is great. Plan trip to Four Corners Monument At corners of Colorado, Arizona, Utah, Mew Mexico (Enjoy Navajo fry bread!) Visit and hike Mesa Verde cliff dwellings national park (This is a bucket list item. Amazing! Recommend ranger-led tour/climb. They are awesome!)
Glad you are coming out west, it will be a change of what you are used to and I see a lot of places have already been mentioned but here’s a few others I like to escape to. Indian Bread Rocks near Safford Az. BLM camping (boondocking), while there visit Chiricahua National Monument and hike to the ruins of Ft. Bowie, there is a nice visitor center there with great information. Lost Dutchman State Park near Mesa is a nice one with lots of hiking trails. If coming to So Utah, Snow Canyon State Park has some nice bike trails among the red rocks. I could go on and on. Happy Trails!
If you're going across I-10, the Walmart in Fort Stockton TX is very RV Friendly for an overnight stop. Cattleman's Steak House Fabens TX is very good. They will let you stay overnight if you eat dinner. This is just east of El Paso and sets you up to go through El Paso after rush hour. This is a working cattle ranch so they have armed cowboys patrolling at night. Bisbee AZ is a neat little town. Poco and Mom's in Tucson red pork enchiladas with eggs over easy is outstanding. Of course a trio to Tucson wouldn't be complete without a stop at an El Taco Tote.
@@VANTREKKINGlifestyle I almost forgot! In Tucson, go to Raspados el Paraiso on E 22nd Street and have their strawberries and cream. There's a Spanish name for it but I can't remember the name. fresas con crema maybe?
Love your travels. And The MagPie. After Tucson check out Apache Junction and and the historic Apache Trail. Winding through beautiful desert Canyons around hairpin turns gorgeous lakes and the ghost town of Tortilla Flats. If you dare to keep going and make the drive to Apache Lake you will encounter Fish Creek Hill. A White Knuckle ride to be sure. I live in Key West now but I so miss Arizona. Have fun.
Thanks Lynn and Owen for sharing your experience with winter storm Finn. What a storm it was up and down the east coast! Wow! So interesting watching those guys relocate your dock. You were very lucky it didn’t break free. I am looking forward to your trip to the SW. I love your style of travel so I feel like I am there with you! I will be in Maine for the eclipse, that should be quite a show. Safe travels as always.
The tough part about traveling is who takes care of your house. When these crazy weather patterns are going on and they’re not going to get better. It’s good you were home when this happened. I would not recommend a rad bike to anyone to be honest. Mine was fairly new and there was a recall on it and you couldn’t ride it and it took them two years to send me the parts, and that was only because I called and had to tell them that this is the last time I’m calling. They ended up sending the parts finally, but they never covered the labor as they said they would. I had to pay for that just to get it done. They are starting to advertise their brand again a lot and they are only good at selling bikes, but their customer service is not there and with electric bikes you definitely need customer service. Thank you for your great interesting videos. I enjoy them very much.
We were really glad we were home when this storm happened. Sorry for bad experience with your Rad, we loved ours for many years, we had a simular experience with customer service, but we were on the road and they just would not work with us on shipping the part we needed. thanks for sharing.
Enjoyed spending Sunday morning drinking coffee and talking. Great video. Next week what about following Maggie around and show what her normal day looks like. We are thinking about Texas for the eclipse and then eat our way back home. Y'all stay safe and dry. Happy tails and safe travels
@@VANTREKKINGlifestyle We should have thought about this earlier. We found a COE, COPPERAS CREEK near Comanche TX. Check hotel rates in Waco for the 7th and 8th.
Thank you Owen and Lynn for telling of your almost getting away. Glad those men came and temporarily fixed it. Thank you for telling of your travels of where you are coming to in the west. Love the Q&A questions. This weather is bad all over with cold and freezing temps. We had a bit of snow but it didn’t stick. Just in the mountains. Glad you stayed home and safe. Hope to see you both soon. Take your time with videos. I will anything you put out. I love you both. Just stay safe. And see you when I see you. Have a great weekend and week and see you in a week or two.
Wow, glad it wasn't worse then it was. We are looking to move to Charlotte so I have been seeing the weather your region has been having. Take care and be safe.
Owen, Don’t know exactly when you’re coming west, but I will send you and Lynn and Maggie an invite if you come farther south and need a stop in Texas. I know you may not come down this way, but if your traveling I-10 and heading thru Louisiana and Texas…we live on the border of east Texas and LA, and about 8 miles south of I-10, we have a plug in spot on our driveway( we use it when prepping for a trip) and a safe neighborhood. Just throwing it out there. My husband plays harmonica and he has some guitars so you could jam! We’re going west but not until May, after some commitments. We want to hit some places we missed last year around Flagstaff, staying around NM, AZ, Utah. Organ Pipe was a favorite and so many other places. It’s all good!😂 Love your videos, stay safe!💜

I don’t know if you have ever been to Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument or not but we were there almost four years ago and we loved it. The campground is located between two mountain ranges, the cacti are gorgeous! Do watch out for rattlesnakes, we saw several while we were there, some just traveling through our campsite. We kept a close eye on our mini schnauzer, Bailey. It was our first experience with solar showers and we were really surprised at how hot the water got 😅! To us it was a magical place! Have a great trip! Also, thanks for the link for the trivit, we love cooking in our cast iron pan.😂
We have been to Organ Pipes, but plan to go again, it’s one of our favorites too and we didn’t get to spend as much time as we would have liked last time. Thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks for the update and Q and A. Missed little Maggie this week, she must be packing for your upcoming trip out west. Enjoy your downtime before you head out.
Hi Guys. It’s Kelly n Keith from VT. We have been in Florida since thanksgiving and boy it has been cold and rainy. We are also planning on going out west to Tucson also. Waiting for the cold to pass. Maybe we will see you guys. We have been told that the white water draw NWR in Arizona has thousands of Sandhill Cranes wintering there. This should be a spot to stop at. Thanks for the great videos this summer of Newfoundland what a trip.
So good to hear from you. We would love to see you out west. We should be there the first of February so let us know when you get there and hopefully we can meet. That is if we don’t change our minds again. Thanks for the information on the Sandhill Cranes, will we keep a look out for them. Have a great time in Florida.
West is best.still out in Utah could tell you some amazing locations but not sure your new rig would make them. Posted some in RUclips if you get bored.
I love the video and I’m stoked for your west coast trip. Az has great trail from green-double black and pavement too. I was wondering if you know a good place to stay in Asheville near the MTB trails. I love the videos and I’m planning my AK trip w/ your help. Dave
Hi there. This winter is crazy here in Florida this year. Makes me want to go further south. Lol. I can't blame you a bit for heading home. Would you share what model trek bike you got for Lynn? Thank you

Well you didn’t give any dates sooo Quartsite show starts from January 20 to the 28th. Of course I would say come on up to Idyllwild. We do have a state park that stays open and 2 Riverside county parks. Palm Desert, Palm Springs is fun! Then of course you have Joshua Tree NP. Debbie and John know all the good spots too. Be Safe and maybe we will bump into you in our Travato which we call Cherry 🍒 Bomb 💣 cause she is Red and the bomb to travel in! 👍
I don’t think we will be in Arizona until the first of February, so we will miss the Quartsite show. Thanks for all the other suggestions. I agree Deb and John know all the great place’s and we are rewatching their videos for research.
Thanks for the info on cameras…what microphones are you guys using-we need to figure out the best ones for in the van while driving and when we are on opposite sides of the camera. Thanks in advance!
Most of the time we just use in-camera audio... we sold our Rode Wireless mics before our Newfoundland trip. Are now have an DJI Pocket 3 camera which came with a DJI Mic 2 wireless mic. We will try to use it more in the future but to be honest mics and our run-and-gun style of shooting don't always work well. We do enhance the audio we capture in-camera while editing with voice isolation, noise reduction, loudness and eq. Hope that helps.
Check out en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Graham, I remember seeing Revels up there and a great overnight is City of Rocks State Park in NM along I-10. You go north at Deming. And of course continuing on to the Gila Cliff Dwellings and then stopping at Lake Roberts as you reconnect with I-25 is a very remote trek.

I’m sure we can’t to all the places you go but we’ll check out your videos and wish. Thanks!
I love the video and I’m stoked for your west coast trip. Az has great trail from green-double black and pavement too.
I was wondering if you know a good place to stay in Asheville near the MTB trails. I love the videos and I’m planning my
AK trip w/ your help.
Dave
There are a lot of great MTB trail near the Asheville area. The place we usually stay is Lake Powhatan Recreation area.
You should visit Superstition Mountain east of Phoenix and hike there. Also visit Canyon Lake, Apache Lake and Roosevelt Lake nearby. It’s beautiful.
Thank you for all the great recommendations!
Hi there. This winter is crazy here in Florida this year. Makes me want to go further south. Lol. I can't blame you a bit for heading home. Would you share what model trek bike you got for Lynn? Thank you
My bike is a Townie Go by Electra which was bought by Trek and I absolutely love it. Here’s a link to the one I have www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/bikes/electra-bikes/electra-e-bikes/townie-go/townie-go-7d-step-thru/p/35273/?colorCode=yellowvisibility. We are not sponsored in any way.
Wow! Sorry to hear about the damage to your dock, glad you were there to watch out for other things. Sorry we will miss you in Florida but know you will have a great time wherever you go. Hope the weather will be better for you guys. Was wondering what model of the wolf bike you guys picked up in pei? Then the type Lynn picked up. We are thinking of picking up another e bike and looking to see what you have now.
Mine is a Wolff Lyra ST. Lynn has the Electra Townie Go!
Please visit Bryce Cayon and Zions National Park and Arches. I don't think that you will be disappointed. My husband and enjoy watching your video greatly.
We have been to Bryce and Zion a long time ago with our oldest granddaughter but we really want to go back.
15” of snow and low of -14 🥶. ❤🐾. Which E-Trek did Lynn purchase?
That makes me cold thinking about it… My e-bike is an Electra Townie Go, here’s a link to their website www.trekbikes.com/us/en_US/townie-go/. We are not sponsored in any way just sharing something I love.
Enjoy your videos! Just wanted to know what e-bike make/model Lynn purchased? Thanks again!

So glad your dock didn't wash away!! What state? I left SC for warmer camping weather in FL but it's been cold here too!!
NC. Hope you find warmer weather.
Just be safe 👍
Thank you.
Go to the Barrio Cafe in Phoenix, best authentic Mexican food on the planet.
Thank you. We love getting food suggestions, and we love Mexican food.
Thank you! Very helpful!
Hey forgot to mention Mexico
👋
BS & BK & BC !!

Thank you for the great suggestions.
