But it wasn't; the First Order only appeared 20 years later. Besides, The Mandalorian shows pretty well what happened to the part of the Empire that wasn't included in the First Order.
They weren't so much replaced as they were the reorganisation of the Empire. Basically, after Endor, a lot of the Imperials who remained fled into the Unknown Regions (and I presume a lot of the galaxy was inspired to rise up and overthrow the Empire on individual systems when they learned of the Death Star II destruction and Palpatine's "death") and spent a few decades reforming and reorganising into the First Order. It's also worth noting that the New Republic knew exactly what they were up to but the First Order was buying off New Republic senators to bog down the Senate in legal proceedings and useless embargoes against the First Order that the First Order just totally ignored, meaning the Empire had a few decades to reorganise and rebuild with virtually no major resistance against them. The only major opposition to the First Order was the Resistance, which was formed basically on the back of Leia's reputation alone. The New Republic only gave enough help to the Resistance to be able to plausibly deny being involved with the group in any way. Officially the Resistance was considered a rogue group, giving the First Order no legal precedent for war. In a way, it's comparable to the current situation in the Middle East, where global superpowers are waging a quiet proxy war by funding various groups that act in their best interests but can say they aren't themselves fighting. So yeah, the New Republic basically crossing their fingers and praying the First Order don't do anything too overt like attack them and the First Order gearing up to do EXACTLY THAT is the situation in the galaxy at the beginning of the Force Awakens.
Well, you can either read the book lost stars, watch a couple of videos on the storyline of battlefront two or anything like that to get the canon story of what happened to the empire immediately after Endor. And in both those instances, the battle of jaku as well.

I didn't think there were any Imperial splinter groups in canon. I thought Operation Cinder happened, Jakku happnened, and then the Empire gave up and died. Then somehow a tiny faction from the unknown regions managed to defeat the entire New Republic... except... not... The opening crawl of The Last Jedi said the New Republic surrendered. This was like five minutes after Starkiller Base exploded so... And then a ton of ships showed up to Exegal in Rise of Skywalker... Man f*ck canon! The three movies have more plotholes and inconsistencies than all of Legends!
There canonically were slinter groups most of them either got wiped out or surrendered The one that survived bided it’s time and became the first order The idea worked better in legends but it did exist in canon too
I really like the Death Troopers they're probably my favorite variant. The Sith Troopers were cool but should have been used more in TROS. Thanks for the video.
Yeah I mean the with eternal did have troop transports each containing 20 troopers “You can take some of my troops with you. As a preview of what our alliance will bring. They’ll prove themselves nicely”
Clones WERE trained by Mandalorians in Canon as well! Its tossed in as a line in Rebels when the Ghost crew visits Concord Dawn. "They are known for their elite warriors. They were brought in to train clones during the war" -Rex Makes my heart tingle a bit
I have a theory that the Sith troopers are clones. It makes a lot of sense in my opinion, they are all very young, and Palpatine is known for creating the clone army in the first place. Not to mention it’s clear he has cloning technology, as we see with Snoke.
That'd b Kool, they need to make a live action movie about the clone troopers from their point of view and as main characters as well as a live action movie about the sith from their point of view n as the main characters, that'd be awesome fr
Personally, and what I suggest to do is, I just cherry pick what makes good canon. Finn's story, a resistance against Imperial remnants, and the possibility of an Imperial Remnant made of authoritarian military officers and their abducted orphan Stormtroopers makes for good fiction. I just don't think it deserves to overwrite the new jedi order, new republic being half competent, the extended Skywalker family tree stories, and the Yuzhan Vong invasion.
The more star wars content I watch the more I learn that I truly don't understand the lore of star wars, it's like I'm discovering new topics that I didn't even know I knew so little about
Halo theory idea What if the UNSC had never researched the spartan 2 or mjolnir programs. However one month after first contact with the covenant the UNSC INFINITY and her escort fleet of Autumn class cruisers appear at earth through a wormhole. The ships are fully operational and have manuals detailing how all ship systems, such as shielding and more advanced slipsace, operate and also how to build them for other ships. However it goes not have the spartan 4s. How does this affect the human covenant war? Does humanity win or lose? #askeck
Cheeky Limerick Cheeky Limerick Spartans were only effective on the ground, and the only way they could damage a Covenant ship was with a bomb from the inside, which usually resulted in the Spartan's death. However, the Covenant almost always had arial superiority out of sheer fleet power, not tactical prowess except for in the case of Thel Vadaam. The Infinity feel would offset that massively. Human naval tactics outclassed those of the Covenant. With a superior fleet and the tactics to match, the Covanent wouldn't even have gotten past Reach, and possibly could've been pushed back past Harvest, as the UNSC was already mobilized, and the building of a new Infinity class fleet would've been well possible. The UNSC would win. The Spartans may have been nigh unbeatable ground troopers, but that never mattered in the face of Covenant naval might and their ability to glass planets regardless of ground resistance. A contemporary UNSC fleet would reverse that, making Space battles almost always end in a UNSC victory. UNSC troops were also already a fair challenge to Covenant ground forces without the Spartans. Although they wouldn't win as often on the ground, that wouldn't matter when the carrier or corvette leading the assault is destroyed, leaving Covenant ground forces alone on a Human planet without arial support. With the proper tactics, one frigate, especially an Autumn class one, could challenge a battlecruiser any day. The Infinity would have no issues dealing with Covenant super-ships like Assault Carriers and Super-carriers, as the Infinity can be see smashing through one with no damage sustained. Though the Infinity is but one ship, it is obscenely powerful. Though unable to be replicated completely from the unique nature of it's engines, slower versions could still exist, though a little slower than the original, which wouldn't even matter with its might.
Adam and Eve Jango Fett, though an extremely skilled and aggressive warrior, couldn't hope to challenge the strength of a Spartan, and that's talking about the original, not the clones, which are slightly weaker. Spartans have superior mentality, as well as being better in every way to normal humans. One could argue that clones aren't normal humans, and you'd be correct, but the Spartans are even farther, and Mandalorians were always just a subrace of humans. A clone still operates like a normal soldier, though better and more dogmatic. They have social lives, sentiment, and fleshed out emotion. Spartans, fully grown ones, never had those distractions. Spartans were unique, and but one could likely take on even the likes of Grievous. A better analogy would be the Clone Commandos, but even they wouldn't be able to stand up to a Spartan, as they still share the emotional distractions of other clones. Clones aren't only soldiers. They have a chance to experience a bond besides soldier camaraderie, and have been known to do things well outside of their duties for little more than entertainment, not for the Republic. You simply can't break a Spartan's morality. They have and always will fight to the death. They may know defeat, but they have never flinched from it. They cannot be broken because they already are broken. Any mental weakness has be chipped away. They have no fear, remorse, or hesitation. They react to all situations accordingly and instantaneously. Clones, on the other hand, are able to break, just like normal humans. The feel fear, they can hesitate, they can make stupid decisions, and they flinch in the face of loss. All flaws which the Spartans don't have. Spartans are only Spartans. They are soldiers, nothing else. Clones are people. Soldiers may be human, but Spartans are made to be more soldier than human.
TheWingland With Master Chief the Halo Array would’ve been activated, with humanity losing. Sure the Covenant would be wiped out too, but they would have technically won because they accomplished their goals.
@@Prince_Luci By "canon" he means Disney canon, whereas "legends" refers to old EU canon. In both cases the films are obviously canon, but Disney canon disagrees with legends canon over other media.
Great video as always. You mention Thrawn being probably as close to the rightful heir to the empire... Yet another reason we need a Thrawn series. It would make a great project following up The Mandolorian. I would like to see Thrawns imperial legion head out towards Chiss space. Something like him over throwing the Chiss government. I remember hearing they had a civil war or close to it just before the death of Palpatine. Thrawn rushes in to establish his order.
100% love the Post-RotJ timeline from Legends. Just makes more sense and is more interesting to me at least. I prefer the corps to be a mix of natural born recruits and clones. Wish we got to see more from the Imperial Army in Legends though, that was my favorite part of Solo.
Given what we learned about Palpatine in Rise of Skywalker, do you think that Palpatine only viewed the Empire as means to an end to eventually achieve a form of total galactic dominance like Joruus C'baoth was seeking? Was the Empire only a stepping stone to the Final Order and then the greater Imperial military and bureaucracy would have been eliminated once it served it purpose?
Man, I love your channel and the videos! Much like many on here, I don't care for the canon stuff(and honestly don't consider it canon) but all the Legends info you go over is awesome.
Alien stormtroopers sounds like a very cool idea, i’d love to see how all of the armor looked. Also as stormtroopers are apparently rare, i Wonder if the other trooper types were also rare. Like patrol troopers, were they rare? I can imagine them not being as rare, because they were basicly cops.
I just recently was thinking about how much I liked the clones but I remember that things arent always the same. So like I said before whoever can play the role as an "empire" or a "republic" or whatever you want to call them. They have my vote.
Hope you talk about old republic troopers eventually. They're my favourite type of soldier in star wars because they aren't just jedi/sith fodder. They could actually put up a fight against them since they fought force users so much.
I like that to because there were quite a lot of sith around so to increase survivability, they needed the training. With the sith gone (Except for 2), intergalactic conflict being at a minimum, and the jedi in control/being peace keepers, combat against force sensitives was less needed.

What I liked about the o,d republic era was that the sith empire was not inherently evil, it had evil people in it of course but like in the story game you can see truly good people who fought for the empire, I preferred the areas of grey that that era was
Old republic troopers those guys can combat Sith. Which back then sith were much stronger than they are now not all but most. Clones and stormtroopers would have to team up to take down a few of these guys.
Legacy era- I did like that we saw a higher number of alien Storm Troopers, with Marasiah Fel taking command of a platoon of Tradoshan stormies in Legacy 2. While Pallaeon may have introduced aliens, their usage had clearly increased singificantly, with stronger aliens being used to form elite units. Plus there's a good number of stormie PoV stuff in Legacy 1 with Joker squad where we get to see their internal culture, how they've built the idea of 'the honor of the armor' and the POV character is a second gen stormie- a lot different than the indoctrinated conscripts of the earlier empire. Though the Sith were probably rolling that back and doing more heavy recruiting.
What would have happened if UNSC had defeated he covenant forces and captured the forerunner fleet in Halo Wars instead of destroying the ships?. #askeck

I would have preferred to see the Empire remnant and their cooperation with the Republic in the new Trilogy, and a conflict between a much different enemy and this alliance.
The BSI/ASI format actually makes sense from an in-universe POV. The Empire reformed the calendar of the Galactic Republic into the Imperial Calendar which followed BFE (Before Formation of the Empire) and AFE (After the Formation of the Empire). To the Rebels/New Republic though it can be followed as BBY (Before Battle of Yavin) and ABY(After Battle of Yavin). so we know that the Starkiller base incident was in 34 ABY. If we follow that line and if I didn’t make a mistake, the starkiller incident format would be around 53 AFE in the Imperial calendar. it’s not resetting the time, it’s just another calendar for in-universe since the calendar has reset before. Edit: here is a screenshot from Matt Martin stating that the visual guide is only going to use the dates relevant to the era of that guide. So BBY/ABY isn’t going anywhere m.imgur.com/YxMO4sq?

And Legends has some incredibly ridiculous shit. Taking the entirety of Legends leaves us with so much low-tier garbage they just churned out to make money.

@ShardRadio IMO, Still better than this new shit Disney keeps churning out.

Original Expanded Universe: So many different & interesting Stormtroopers, plus the Empire eventually makes peace with the New Republic & even recruits non-humans into their forces.
Disney Expanded Universe: Yeah, they changed the armor design & Palpatine had secret Sith Stormtroopers on the side.
I love the First Order storm troopers.
That they were indoctrinated children, abducted from their homes and brainwashed into a faceless drone just gives them a depth the original stormtroopers never really had. Even the little details go a long way.

There canonically were slinter groups most of them either got wiped out or surrendered

nice, but i like the look of the type 2 clones
Love the new content. Good start for a new year. Cant wait to watch the gameplay. Thanks for your awesome show.
I have a theory that the Sith troopers are clones. It makes a lot of sense in my opinion, they are all very young, and Palpatine is known for creating the clone army in the first place. Not to mention it’s clear he has cloning technology, as we see with Snoke.
And himself
11:53 you can tell how disappointed eco sounded when he was talking about the sequel storyline where palpatine comes back to life

thanks for some of the best content out there, eck
I hope we get an old republic trilogy so that we can see the original sith troopers like the ones from knights of the old republic
That'd b Kool, they need to make a live action movie about the clone troopers from their point of view and as main characters as well as a live action movie about the sith from their point of view n as the main characters, that'd be awesome fr

I was just watching one of your old videos when I got this notification
So now that the sequel trilogy has concluded can we all pretend it didn't happen
Nah
I know I do!
Idk what your talking about? What sequels?
There is no "sequel trilogy".
There's the Original Trilogy.
The Prequel Trilogy.
The Disney Shame Collection.
And Rogue One
Legacy era is my favorite comic run of SW.
#askeck
They lose. Spartans are the only reason they had a chance
Up to developers. This needs on quora or reddit.

Doing Legends and then Canon is the right way to go. I know when exactly I can stop watching. Legends forever!

Some Mandalorians were involved with Clone training in Canon too.
I subscribed, I can’t stop thinking I already watched these videos
I just recently was thinking about how much I liked the clones but I remember that things arent always the same. So like I said before whoever can play the role as an "empire" or a "republic" or whatever you want to call them. They have my vote.
I love the nod to Dark Forces with the voice distortion on the mention of dark troopers!
140 aby looks badass
Hope you talk about old republic troopers eventually. They're my favourite type of soldier in star wars because they aren't just jedi/sith fodder. They could actually put up a fight against them since they fought force users so much.
I like that to because there were quite a lot of sith around so to increase survivability, they needed the training. With the sith gone (Except for 2), intergalactic conflict being at a minimum, and the jedi in control/being peace keepers, combat against force sensitives was less needed.
Yeah the 140 aby one is from the Force Awakens art book, kinda misleading
We don't have too much from the legacy era. So I'd give it a pass. Beside he gave light to a nice looking concept design.
Phase II clone Troopers will always be my favourite

possibly better than storm troopers because they also volentered but i think the clone is far superior because of being trained at a very young age
Old republic troopers those guys can combat Sith. Which back then sith were much stronger than they are now not all but most. Clones and stormtroopers would have to team up to take down a few of these guys.
stormtroopers yes but not clone troopers,it's stated many times that the clone army is the best army the galaxy has ever seen
The bodyguard outfit has been and will forever be one of the slickest armors in star wars!!!!!
So, we have moved past the rise of Skywalker I approve
#askeck

"BBY" is now "BSI" according to Disney...
It’s pretty stupid to just restart the timeline, and bsi just sounds kinda stupid
Tommy Faust What does BSI mean?
@@provablegrub4581 before starkiller incident
