AWESOME REVIEW, Thank you! I was always a Sports car driver, I owned a 91 Toyota MR2 turbo, a 93 Honda Prelude VTEC, and an Awesome 93 Mazda RX-7, I wish kept to this day for its value, and it was just a sweet performing car. After taking an M5 Drivers course in 2003, I was extremely impressed by the M5 of that generation, feeling it completely surpassed the all around performance of the RX-7 I owned. So, I read a lot more on BMWs. In 2001, I ordered my first BMW, and all I could afford at that time was the bottom of the line, a 325ci with a 5 speed , only options I chose were cold weather package, and upgraded color choice of Titanium Silver, with a Harmon Kardon stereo. The 325ci had perfect 50/50 weight distribution and handled every bit as well as the RX-7, if not better. Not as fast, but performance was a win. I have been a loyal BMW owner since then! My wife has had 3, X5's starting also with a 2001 X5, 5speed, which was the best as it was a standard. She also owned a 2011, and now has a 2018, great SUVs all of them! I have owned 3, 5 series, a 2011 550xi, and a 2014 550xi MSport. Both great cars, unbelievable sleepers, and both provided the best in performance, in their class IMO. I found a 2016 M5 Competition Package in Singapore Grey, with less than 50,000 miles on it last year. I have NEVER been happier. I believe the correct figures are 630 HP at the crank, and 575 to the rear wheels stock for Competition Package, 15 more HP than standard M5. For performance numbers on the 2016 M5 Competition Package, I have seen everything from 3.4 secs 0-60 to 4.0, and 11.4 secs to 12.0 in the 1/4 mi. I believe the car remains to be very, very under rated. This car pulls like a supercar and beats most American sports cars to sixty and in the 1/4 mile, by at least a second. I am going to try to keep this car as it i will be, IMO on of the last great gasoline powered super sedans. GO BUY YOURSELF ONE RIGHT NOW. Thank you again for your excellent review.
Awesome video and beautiful car. I sold my e39 m5 for a f10 m5 about a year ago. I know your exact feeling when I drove it the first time. Forget about what people say about reliability. You should get a M5 👍 Wait a couple of months and you will be able to get them at very low prices. Check the video's about the CV and the impact it has on car sales.
CV has nothing to do with the terrible resale value and extreme depreciation of m series cars, especially the m5 series. The m5 for the last decade has lost over half it's value in the first year or first 20k miles. BMW has awful resale value overall.
After many three series and thinking they where the benchmark. I purchased a 530D and it’s a BMW for grownups, so refined and seducing. The poise the sophistication, the power and strength. And then it’s all over, and quite again.😚
Got to drive a 2014 M5 with a manual gearbox, it was unreal... I need one but they only made a handful of F1X M5 and M6 in manual so I can never find one for sale. Definitely a great purchase

I bought a 2015 M5 Competition 3 days ago. Can’t wait to drive it more once shelter in place is over. Drove it 175 miles home from the dealer and it was awesome. A rocket that averaged 23mpg at 85 mph on the interstate. Coming from a 2013 535i that’s FBO MHD stage 2+ is a great upgrade. M5 is coded now with BimmerCode, CarPlay/Android Auto is installed along with my radar detector. She’s ready to drive.
I’ve owned mine for about two years now. Still grin ear to ear every time I get in and drive. Also the rear calipers are single piston. Not 4 unfortunately
On my car the massage function button forward is the seat bottom and button back is the rear lumbar. When one cycle starts you normally have to wait for the end before starting the other function. Cannot do both at the same time.
Do these cars have any well known points of catastrophic failure like the E60? Noticed they were surprisingly affordable on the used car marketplace and was wondering what the long term reliability was like.

I'm the opposite. I had an F10 M5 Comp. pkg and now I want an M2 Comp. The F10 was a great car but just a little too heavy and big for the occasional track time.
I had an F10 M5 for a while(and an N54 car for that matter). Incredibly capable car, but that DCT was really weird in the city. It occasionally jerked around like a teenager learning to drive stick when you rolled the power on too gently. It also literally could not back up a hill. It would burn out in reverse or shoot up the hill like i was launching it on the drag strip. Impossible to parallel park. However, on a back road, you will completely forget how big this car is. It definitely has some livability downsides, but it is an awesome vehicle otherwise.
(Reply after video end...) I definitely enjoyed your experience with this M5 Christian! Seeing your reactions to features and performance was satisfying. If you can afford it I would say get your own F10 M5. My SHO was as close to Power Sedan as I could afford at the time. I found Livernois Motorsports can hook me up with a tuner to get over the 400 hp and torque. Still contemplating getting one for $499......🤔😏 Either way thanks for your experience shared with us and wishing you all the best in the coming times! Looking forward to the next video! Peace out brother!
I went for a ride along in one of these last year at M Fest with a pro driver from BMW and even on worn down pilot sports that thing was a fucking missile, Ive never been in a car as fast as that on a track.
@@cole7984 the pads are ceramic but the rotors are steel. Nothing special about it. Carbon ceramics are found on Ferraris and newer M models and AMG. They weren't using them on the M series that early

Awesome 😎 car there is one of these in 🇬🇧 with over 1000 bhp proven on dyno on stock internals really reliable if they are maintained correctly like any car you need to own one brilliant video review
Everything you say about this car is so spot on! I own a ‘16 f10M5 comp Frost matte white paint with sakir orange full leather interior and I freaken am in love everyday I’m in it. Did you ever get one?
Funny that you posted this video about F10 M5, GREAT CONTENT !! Keep up these great videos!! See.. I was lucky enough to find manual 2013 F10 M5 with low mileage on April 1, bit the bullet and finally acquired one of my all time dream car. Drove it back home ~500 miles and I was blown away with this Luxury Ultimate Driving Machine, nothing on the road was able to touch it, not even 2 Challengers. I definitely highly recommend this fine machinery. Make sure to get extended warranty for peace of mind and pick one out with B&O sound system, avoid the Lane Assist though since it is really annoying and not really practical.
Some say engines are bad on these and not reliable, but others say they are very reliable pushing 1000hp on stock internals. I guess you need to own one to really know if its reliable :D
No high performance engine is reliable without absolute 💯 maintenance activities. People think it's like driving a diesel eurobox.tjese highly tuned engines need lots of tlc. I mean lots!!!! One component not looked after the whole thing plays up. Its because it's so highly tuned and complex.
Evaldas Senavaitis Depends, how you treat the car, lots of people red line, driving hard on cold starts.. exceeding 7,000RPM on cold starts, was in the driver seat and engine code went on just by the dude pushing it on cold, not cool to a car. Don’t be cheap like people tend to do on BMWs. Always buy the oem and recommended stuff for the BMW. Some aftermarket is cool but there’s aftermarket parts that are simply for replacing parts only, no benefit for power. Overall depends on how you treat it, there’s an E60 with 300k miles, E39 M5 with 400k miles, E34s with 500k miles and the F10 so far I’ve heard 140k miles.
Idk how reliable the F10 is but I can assure you it's miles more reliable than the E60. That said this engine runs very very hot. After a 15 minute ride to the gas station, I switched the car off and immediately the fans came on.
I think most people who don't like it are the ones who loved the E60.When the F10 replaced the E60 it was quite criticized because it didn't have a V10 like the E60
If you got the money to maintain it i would say go for it. i own one for 5 Years i got 156.000KM no leaks no major problems its been my daily driver for last 2 years.
From someone that takes ridiculous amounts of time cleaning his car, just like Matt, I 100% understand why he didn't want the leather package. Nice to look at...supremely time consuming to keep clean.
I've had a 2016 Chevy SS Sedan 6MT with bolt ons for 2 years now and it's a hoot but I've always loved BMWs and I'm actually starting to get to the point where the idea of a DCT or auto is appealing to me with my hour bumper to bumper commutes to and from work each day. So I've been looking at used M3/4s, and then the M2 with all the rave about them but I'd feel like I'd be going to a small or tiny car (I'm 6'2 205lbs) and would rather have something the size of the SS. the F10 M5 is something I'm now considering but I'm worried about the reliability especially since I'll likely mod it.
I'm sold. I was looking for a 535 Msport when I ran into my E93. The F10 M5 is a beast, and it Looks way better than the F90 hands down. If I could find a low mileage F10 with all the goodies, my E93 may have to exit the garage!, and My E93 has all the goodies!
That color though! I like the black wheels but prefer hyper silver wheels just to match my paint and they show more detail from further away. M5 have always been beasts! Idk though having a "M" suv would be awesome too!
Hey man great content you’ve been putting out with these reviews! I understand that you are a huge fan of this car. How did this car compare to the M4? Some of the things you weren’t a fan of on the M4 (especially the modern electronic steering, lack of “driver’s”/road feel, etc.) should also be felt in this car since it is also newer, right? I also come from a modded e92 335 back in the day. I couldn’t go to the F10 (granted it was a 535, not an M) after that-it just felt off. Currently looking to get back in the market and would like to know your feelings on the F10 M5. Thanks in advance!
Well done sir!

Definitely noticed the jerks in between shifts when cruising.
The rear calipers are single piston floating calipers and the rotors look like they’re just steel with a lighter hub
Those are definitely carbon ceramic brakes. Do some research
@@cole7984 the pads are ceramic but the rotors are steel. Nothing special about it. Carbon ceramics are found on Ferraris and newer M models and AMG. They weren't using them on the M series that early
@@whoresuvtripoli you are incorrect. The f10 LCI came with an available carbon ceramic brake option which this car has. Ceramic pads and rotors. It was a $10k option for the m5 from 2014-2016
@@whoresuvtripoli dude didnt even respond because he posted like he knows what hes talking about and he obviously doesnt.
Reccomend doing some research before posting false information such as the f10 m5 doesnt come with a Carbon Ceramic Brakes option
You right Cole, those rotors are carbon ceramic. My bad. Rear caliper is still single piston floating caliper.
Try driving the M6 and M5 back to back - Getting into the M5 after driving the M6 you will find the M5 soft! i was blow away at how much more of a drivers car the M6 is. The M6 interior is super nice as well.
That shortened wheelbase does a whole lot.
not being an asshole or anything but the m5 and m6 interiors are 90% identical
I got one...they are an absolute beast or a complete kitten. Just a amazing car. Good low mile original owner cars are going poof. Dont be locked into a comp pack car either. Standard cars are insane.
Awesome 😎 car there is one of these in 🇬🇧 with over 1000 bhp proven on dyno on stock internals really reliable if they are maintained correctly like any car you need to own one brilliant video review
Paul Pateman reliable isn’t quite the word i would use to describe this car
Lmao yo I've been watching your vids for 2 days now, very entertaining.
One of the best for a review!
Everything you say about this car is so spot on!
I own a ‘16 f10M5 comp Frost matte white paint with sakir orange full leather interior and I freaken am in love everyday I’m in it. Did you ever get one?
Yes I did :)
I wish we didn't need a front license plate here in the Six!!! The front looks so smooth without it!!!
Valve seals on N/S63 engines are the Achilles heal on any car with these engines.

Depends, how you treat the car, lots of people red line, driving hard on cold starts.. exceeding 7,000RPM on cold starts, was in the driver seat and engine code went on just by the dude pushing it on cold, not cool to a car.
@@VehicleVirals I have an f11 and the engine is reliable. It's just the trim has been fitted very poorly
Many Thanks, Stay Safe!
Peace From London. 🙏🙏
Its not a massage function..
Its for long drives so your legs dont get tired, from 5series and up i believe
Congratulations,,, it's a beautiful car . . I got a BMW 328 I so I love the ingeniered .
You need to try the 2016 F10 M5 Pure Silver Metal. It has 600 ho stock. There are only 50 made for North America. It’s at a whole new level of speed.
This aged well.
Oh snap 😂
M5 would be awesome 🤩
I think most people who don't like it are the ones who loved the E60.When the F10 replaced the E60 it was quite criticized because it didn't have a V10 like the E60
F10 M5 is just amazing and I hope I can own one in the future
Super excellent review!
You should get a bmw m5 they're not to expensive 35k
If you got the money to maintain it i would say go for it. i own one for 5 Years i got 156.000KM no leaks no major problems its been my daily driver for last 2 years.
I never used setting one in the gearbox in mine as it pulls away in second gear and puts excessive wear on the clutch
I only have it on setting 1 during first 5min of driving then I turn it on 2
Matt's m5 is CLEAN!!!
From someone that takes ridiculous amounts of time cleaning his car, just like Matt, I 100% understand why he didn't want the leather package. Nice to look at...supremely time consuming to keep clean.
You can open/close the trunk by kicking with your foot under the rear bumper
Realized that afterwards
I feel you man!
M5 f90 competition will destroy all the m5 generations ...f90 is a beast
I sold my e39 m5 a year ago for the f10 m5. Both cars are classic in their own ways . Greetings from South Africa. God Bless.
That color though! I like the black wheels but prefer hyper silver wheels just to match my paint and they show more detail from further away. M5 have always been beasts! Idk though having a "M" suv would be awesome too!
May review a X3M soon
@@VehicleVirals any of the "x" with the turbo 6 or turbo 8 are already bad to the bone. Adding that "M" to then just makes them insane!
Huge improvement since the last review video
Where in Florida is this because it looks soooo familiar ? Is this around Mount Dora ?
