Thanks. For the video. Replaced in about 35 minutes. Did not need to remove the radiator hose. Removed the coolant reservoir and moved it to the other side. Squeezed the replacement through that gap.
Mine was Worldwide Alternator from Advance Auto Parts with lifetime warranty and RockAuto.com had same model (12003) under name Remy. ToughOne for my Nissan Altima again has same model # 12003. It sounds that it is the same item but they keep changing the name. Mine is still working and when it dies, I can take it back with the lifetime warranty.
I have the same issue with my 2001 Altima. I see that you took off the radiator hose from the radiator side. Did you put a pan to catch any drips? How much coolant leaks out? Thanks. Great video though
I did not mind 'no audio' but I would have liked to have actually seen you thread the belts and adjust the alternator for proper tauntness. I do appreciate the fact that some things are obvious... like pointing at the battery terminal and gesturing for it to come off and likewise for the various bolts.
why did you take off the pulley at the bottom? what for? as far as i remember-if bottom tensioner is loose-you should be able to take it out without removing A\C pulley. just 0.02
This is was someone else did: "Did not need to remove the radiator hose. Removed the coolant reservoir and moved it to the other side. Squeezed the replacement through that gap."
Not much leak but pan is a good idea and I quote from my county government website: "DID YOU KNOW... Each year thousands of dogs and cats are poisoned by improperly discarded or leaking antifreeze? The sweet taste attracts pets."
Ever hear of "Tough One" alternators? i just had a reman alt die on me and when i went into advanced auto this was what they gave me. Im just curious if you know anything about this brand.. Would like to know if i should be worried.
Around $100 after returning core. Worldwide Alternator from Advance Auto Parts with lifetime warranty. I think RockAuto.com has same model under name Remy. I bought online with free pickup at store using discount coupon and did it via ebates.com for rebate.
for nissan almera .15 liter 2003 or. not charging..since this vid is a feasable coice of results for search for my prob, l will describe double coal one too short repair. push in tab on connector f wires to release, four bolts f casing , first release all small bolts on top , open, l used hammer on casing boltholes alternatively, to pry open . its a rather hard repair , difficult fittings not designed for public , nuts off yellow bigger bolts two on regulator and beat them down w hammer. later needs rather much force in same way to push them into right much protrudin position before assembly. take a pic on each step to know assembly maybe. needs much twisting to get out , under is cols brushes in plastic, will not come out, so l bent one bolt hole metal down to get it out , the one that reaches under diode halfring. in shop dont ask for just brushes if you send a buyer , ask for brushes in plastic fastening. so l did not want to try to put in bare brushes l had so l pulled on the short brush with pliers to make it come out stretching the spring and it came out one or three millimeters , will last some months l guess. thats about it for now, ask me if in trouble. bearings felt loose, opened one to put grease, might wanna drip thick gear oil on other in a tight spot or some fluid grease but might make trouble with wiring spools.
No tool was used. I did it the least scientific way. I did it by measuring with a ruler the deflection of the belt at the tension check points. Here you can see the values for a new belt: videosdiy.blogspot.com
Rarely is a video so informative without a single word spoken or written. Good video.

Great video! Those who can't talk, DO.............Learned a lot, thanks.

great video, only thing missing is a tool list including bolt sizes and tightness
Thank you thank you thank you. Total job time was about 35 minutes.
Thansk for putting these videos up. It really helps me out

You keep skipping the whole process. If you gonna show how to replace the alternator, you have to show it step by step. Not informative

Just wanted to thank you for the video, it was a huge help
Very creatively shot my man. Thanks for the upload.

The one thing I want to know is how did you remove the old alternator? How did you find the room to squeeze it out?
Not much leak but pan is a good idea and I quote from my county government website: "DID YOU KNOW... Each year thousands of dogs and cats are poisoned by improperly discarded or leaking antifreeze? The sweet taste attracts pets."
I followed the service manual and did not have to do that. Currently, I do not have an impact wrench but if you have the tools then you can go for it.
Thanks for the video, got it on asap
After oil change the mechanic noticed alternator bearing noise with recommendations to change alternator in the near future.
Thanks this was very helpful! I commend you good sir for making this video!

You didn't show how to remove and put back on the drive belt. Skipped that part and didn't show how to put it back on either.
It's a good video, but I would've loved to see you actually take off the belt(s). Audio would've been really helpful too.
what is the tool you use to set tesion on belt
Hey what were your symptoms on this bad alternator
SPEAK!!!
Thanks for the tip!
