    Lots of respect to your for making these videos, I watch pretty much every one and your commentary and playing is always fun to watch. Thanks man, please keep making videos!
    Also YES love rain decks! They're not played enough. I've got one using gigascorpion decoction as it gets rid of 6 and 7 point cards (7 with one turn of rain) which helps against things like hefty helge, angus bri cri, dana meadh: provider, etc. Then you can bring it back with bride of the sea. Can be costly to spend a turn of rain but it's alright. Happy to see rioghan in your deck, he is a beast.

    I remembered Skellige rain (might be not similar but it was rain deck)... in one of Gwent tournaments months ago, Dosen once lost to this archetype (after Fucusya summoned Rioghan (?) to proc all rain or storm) and I thought that time it was beautiful. The point swing was no joke and as one who like rains so much I would love this Skellige deck too. 😂

    I think that in this deck triss butterflies is better than royal decree since you have 4 potential bricks in your deck - angler fish and the torrential rain

    • @jimjamguitar6699
      @jimjamguitar6699 Год назад

      If you use torrential rain in round 1 or 2 on both rows anglerfish then gets summoned, meaning you get access to more gold cards round 2 or 3

    • @platinumpatrol2964
      @platinumpatrol2964  Год назад +1

      I tried Cursed Scroll for a similar idea but you usually thin out the deck enough that it felt unnecessary. The bigger problem with Triss is the deck is already slow and I feel that the turn delay it takes her for you to play the card she tutors hurts too much.

    I like Rain Decks aswell, but i also like Devotion and Discard so ive tried to make it all in one Deck here is the list:
    1x Rage of the Sea
    1x Mask of Uroboros
    1x Fucusya
    1x Kraken
    1x Fulmar
    1x Covenant of Steel
    1x Birna Bran
    1x Coral
    1x Bjorn Stomursson
    1x Skjordal Drummond
    1x Morkvarg
    1x Gigascropion Decoction
    2x War of the Clans
    2x Messenger of the Sea
    1x Stunning Blow
    2x Tuirseach Skirmisher
    1x Melusine Cultist (do i need this in particular or maybe replace it with a more interssting card like: Havfrue Singer or something else? )
    2x Gutting Slash
    2x Little Havfrue
    1x An Craite Warrior
    1x Heymaey Skold
    1x Brokvar Warrior
    Any thoughts on that List i think it has a good amout of Control and looks abit interessting i hope.
    Keep up the Good Work and sorry for the long comment.

      You have some interesting ideas, but I think you went a bit overboard on the control. Normally I'd push for Freya's Blessings since being able to revive the Messengers gives the deck such a better ceiling, but if you want to make it more control oriented, I can see leaving them out. There are a couple other thoughts I have on the deck, but I like the unique take on Rain.
      1. For the control cards I think you have a few too many. Without Armor Bjorn isn't great even with the odd discard opportunity so I'd cut him and the Stunning Blow. You still have plenty of control cards and I'm concerned that without Blessings to revive the Messengers so much control might me the deck struggles to put points on the board.
      2. The War of Clans and Warriors are an interesting idea for control since you want Devotion. I'm not sure the 2 4p Warriors are enough even with discards. I'd probably add in at least 1 more but I do like the idea.
      3. I'd highly, highly recommend Anglerfish. You're in Devotion so the extra consistency is really helpful and they have great synergy with the deck.
      4. A big thing is this deck looks like it could benefit from Magic Compass. You're already discarding and if you add in the Anglerfish that should be enough to put Compass online if you play it R2 and R3. It also synergizes with the War of Clans by potentially putting your Warriors into the Graveyard. It might even be worth cutting Kraken and using Compass to make him to save some provisions since he's usually the most conditional Rain card and the one I normally save for R3 anyway.
      5. If you're not running Rioghan (and honestly even if you are) I think Melusine over Fulmar. It gives you the option of a big tempo play later off Fucusya which is worth it even if you're not using cultists to reset its order in my opinion. Especially since you don't have Freya's Blessings/Megascopes to get more Messengers to benefit as much from the Storm from Fulmar.
      6. If you're leaning more into the control aspect maybe Kelpie would be better than Covenant of Steel. You really only have the 2 Messengers to protect and Kelpie I feel would get more value overall. It also works great with Anglerfish.
      The deck would end up looking something like this if you made all these changes: www.playgwent.com/en/decks/21a2bf4a7223f8c2099632ecb90d0f6e
      If you don't want to go the Compass route I'd probably use the provisions for Rioghan and Rite like this: www.playgwent.com/en/decks/58b35c4d96589d755f12f763ae58b2ac

      No, the servers are still up, and are gimme be on for a while still. They released the last new card drop just recently though. That didn’t mean that the game is dead: the last update will be a system by which the community can introduce their own patches to the game.

      I always think of The Elder Scrolls Legends when people say Gwent is dead now. It's a spinoff from a similarly popular franchise that stopped getting support. Unlike Gwent will through the community balance system it hasn't had a patch in years and still has a pretty stable playerbase.@@er4din903

    Колода ходит на большие статы, НО сейчас слишком много контроля, играть невозможно, всё убивают.

    • @gwynbleidd8723
      @gwynbleidd8723 11 месяцев назад

      "Tempo in fact is used to describe how the rhythm of the match unfolds for both players, and it articulates the pace of their fight. As a resource, tempo is strictly connected with your mana and your health points, but it can also be tied with card advantages" I don't want you to not get any answer. Idk how to explain it, ffor me it's a feeling in card games

      @@gwynbleidd8723 that is very kind of you, thank you

    • @platinumpatrol2964
      @platinumpatrol2964  11 месяцев назад +4

      Gwynbleidd8723 had a good general definition. In Gwent in particular Tempo mostly describes the amount of points a play gets you in a turn and the current board state. For example, playing a 4 power engine is low tempo while a 12 power Speartip is high tempo. It includes everything you do in a turn, so you can increase the tempo of playing your 4 power engine card by using an order on the board or your leader ability. Having the Tempo advantage generally means you're ahead in points on the board (for example if you have 40 points and the opponent has 20).
      Tempo is important because if you have the tempo advantage you get to dictate how the game is played. If you keep applying pressure your opponent will be forced to play bigger, more important cards. This relates to the card advantage part of the definition Gwynbleidd8723 gave you. Falling behind in card advantage is really bad in Gwent, so by taking a big enough Tempo advantage the opponent will have to respect that and play bigger cards or risk going down on cards. Alternatively, you get to decide if you just want to drop some low provision cards and go to the next round while they're forced to try to catch up.
      High tempo is extremely important for strategies like Bleeding (forcing your opponent to waste their good cards in round 2 after you win round 1), going for a 2-0 after a long round 1, and playing short round 3s. If a player doesn't have high tempo plays, they can be abused in those situations. Engine cards that generate incredible value over time are usually balanced by being low tempo when they're played.
      If you've ever looked at the board and felt like there's no way your opponent can catch up for a couple turns and you can play whatever you want, that's what having a big tempo advantage feels like. On the other hand, if you've ever felt that you're far behind and are forced to play your big cards to keep up, that's what having the tempo disadvantage feels like.
      Hopefully that helps! Sorry for the long time before responding. Normally I try to reply to comments like this quickly, but I wasn't able to do any RUclips related things the last week since my laptop charger died.
