game 1 why pass at 7 if you had assassination that can remove ethereal? alternatively yoink ethereal and play braathens to create a copy of a fruit and transform it with ethereal then coup into the enemy informant and replay it for 2 assim procs for another fruit. and ethereal

the issue with anna is that shes huge liability, like you mentioned. it was worse when she was 3 power because then shes always a valid coup target, but at 9 provisions shes still targetable by torres first form

I returned to the game after ~4 years, is blue stripes deck playable?

Honestly i looked up the balance council results and i was fine with 95 % of the changes, like i really feel that most of the buffs/nerfs were good decisions and i support them, i dont really get why NG got buffed so much especially since neither Assimiliate or Enslave nor Brathens or Teranova particularely needed them... Teranova is like the best play assimilate has so making him Cost less makes no sense to me, but in the end i dont think its gonna change too much, except from maybe seeing some weird assimilate/enslave tactics hybrid decks ... Only change i consider to be problematic/ i know is going to annoy me at some point is the illusionist Buff

NG is without a doubt the strongest factions by far! I mostly play NG and even I think NG deserves massive nerfs. We even joked about kochey getting buff to 9 provision so we could see some good mo GN insect decks instead they did the opposite 😂 Open sesame was perfect at 5 provision and helped shady vendor now it is to expensive and shady vendor much less played. again think before voting people. Secret service is without a doubt the worst nerf! It is 1 power 90% of the time a brick, it can only remove 1 lock, if you get no status it is a brick! NG is running 4-6 locks and secret can only remove 1! Radovid another horrible nerf! It cost 10 provision!! Be realistic 10 provision, only comes out in devotion which is getting horrible. Is usually just a brick, even if you get it out and have space on melee row you MIGHT do 3 damage. So it is mostly used for thinning so a 10 provision thinning card that only works after all leader is spend it was decent enough as it was but now, again with all the other nerfs it is just getting bad. Except for the open sesame, kiki, NG buff and NR nerfs it was fine BC.

16:20 It's not pointless to powernerf Renfri. Won't be effective in every match, but having a horrible tempo play for a card that needs to be played does limit the deck a bit. Iris + Companions combo is also a common Renfri play which is also shit tempo. Makes it weaker against bleed or less likely to win R1. And far less likely to be reverted next BC compared to provision nerf.

The reason for the NG leader buffs is as a reaction to NG getting all their best cards systematically overnerfed without the faction getting any reasonable compensation. It takes a lot fewer buffs to buff leaders that all decks have in common than to try to revert many of the cards or buff new ones. There are 6 leaders who at some point covers all the cards, so it's far easier. I'd like for other cards to be buffed instead, but that hasn't happened so personally I don't have a problem with either of these, especially enslave being a renfri-excluding leader.

NG players will never be satisfied

Hey Plat, just a thought when you are making the tier list for January Balance Council Update use the "Pancake" tierlist instead of the "I Hate this tier List". PS : That Witchers trio order is forever going to bother me...

Salamander will sometimes also play Renew, it can actually be quite good there but I agree that is also a very niche use.

Renfri at 15 provisions ruins my favourite event The Patience is a Virtue :D I voted -1 prvsns for her just because of that. Btw I think the previous version of the Censer was one of the most broken cards in Gwent in the last few years? Its was basically a one turn Beauclair(13 prvsns) for 8 prvsns that you could play the last turn for 10 to 50 points depending on how tall your opponent goes, with a little setup on your side. You just need the last say and a leader like Ursine Ritual preferably but it was still really good without the last say.

Good call on the Betsy, I try and fit her in most of my bonded decks for the consistent and redrawing bricks round 1 is so strong plus her and caravan with highway man is 21 points in 2 cards

someone did the Stregobor/Matta trick on me today, i had no cards for the third round, while the dude had 5? cards, i got an auto pass and than he decided too pass as well and ended in a draw, dude had mercy also we both were playing double cross, though i didnt have many of the gold cards...
