    this video is not only extremely calming but it also managed to make me almost excited to create my research file despite this being the bane of my existence in the past

    Thank you so much . You sincerely responded to the request I had made in comment section a couple of week back on how to do research thing. Really grateful. One thing that I really want to figure out more is on how to connect primary research with secondary and also how to develop a context . I guess this would be too specific but would really appreciate if you could reply or make video something related to it . Stay healthy .And keep making informative videos.

      You're welcome! Hope others will find it beneficial too. Yeah I realised during my editing that I could go deeper on the thinking process behind everything - I'll add a more "in depth" video to my to do list! Nothing is too specific haha, thank you for watching!

    Hey! Thank you so much for making this video. I am in 3rd year, at that early point of research right now.
    I was really struggling in a deep slump until I saw your video.
    I really appreciate how you put me at ease and made me feel like it was just a matter of organizing and proper referencing. That was all I really needed to grasp about how I lay out the knowledge that I'm trying to be critical with before I share the knowledge with others as my research.
    Thanks Again!

    I've only ever been in one art class, and i just completed that class this semester. I've been a self taught artist up to this point, and I've been given an incredibly opportunity that I can not turn down. I know this is going to be very difficult for me because it's new, and I'm so so excited to see what I'll accomplish. Thank you for this video, it really has helped me:)

    "uuuh omg I dont wanna do research cos my work sucks"
    yep, thats me :,) hahahahaha I am a very negative person so that is difficult, but I like to do research in a basic way, looking for inspiration but never painting from that or in that moment. I think am afraid of what I can or can't do. so I appreciate your videos, that make me think in another way, another perspective because I always criticize my work and... well... sometimes I stop to paint. That is way I say THANK U

    Artists have always been influenced and inspired by the work of other artists. How is "artist research" different or new?

    • @TomasFolanHasici
      @TomasFolanHasici  2 года назад +1

      Usually research/context comes up in interviews. Depending on the course, sometimes you're required to submit some form of written work too/a personal statement/video that does go into your research a bit. But for the portfolio images (unless they specify) it's usually just the work and not research.

      So I used to edit my images in Gimp (free software) or photoshop I believe. Then I made a PDF file out of all the images.
      BUT I wouldn't advise doing it that way now. If I were you I'd use the website Canva to put it together. See my portfolio video to get a better idea of Canva!

    the video would have been better without the naf music in the background.
