Other forms of fiction still make sense. There are justifications, explanations and setups for the outlandish shit happening. It's called good writing. Goku went Super Sayain due to his heritage, emotions and current level of power. Gon went prime form yet it was never explained, rationalized or justified. He was just a mad kid that achieved power beyond anyone including Meruem. Noone knows how or why. Fiction or not that's nonsense.

Togashi left traces to us on where the story Will lead in the future but never managed to make it to there. As for Gon, i think we dont know enough to judge, we dont know what happened with his mother, we dont know how Will he get his nen back and that all is just yet to be shown to us in the future. Theres so much unexplained cus that wasnt the right time for it to be explained to us. HxH world building was prepared Like a well packed gift, meant to be unpacked layer by layer at the right time. I get where youre coming from but it aint over and who knows when Will it be
@@The_Gamers_Gamer umm, not sure if you watched the show but there's a scene in the Yorknew Arc where Gon asks Kurapika to explain how he got strong enough to kill a Phantom Troupe member. We the audience never hear this conversation, but its inferred that Kurapika explained Nen restrictions/conditions that can boost your power. However, Gon being the reckless child he is, was only concerned with the power buff, and not the sacrifices or consequences of these conditions hence right before he transformed he says "I don't care if this is the end" or in other words "i don't care what the outcome is, just give me so much power that there's no doubt i can end this bitch" Pitou realized this as s(he) was getting beaten that this form was the culmination of Gon's complete potential, and that as a result, he sacrificed his ability to use nen (or even his life force in general would deplete), as that would've been the only plausible way to obtain THAT much power. Granted, this was a few arcs back, but even so it's not like there was NO explanation to it. That's like saying Pitou's corpse reviving itself to kill Gon makes no sense when Phinks literally explained the nen-after-death concept at the end of the Yorknew Arc.

For example, if in Pokémon there are two Pokémon at the same level. One is a water type and one is a fire. The fire type wins easily. That is unrealistic in the world because of the rules it has set up in it.

These complaints are like watching a karen complain that they aren't serving pizza and hamburgers in an ice-cream place.
They said so themselves, they don't like shonen, yet they took the liberty to watch shonen and felt like they were stolen something even if they should've known what to expect.
This is an awful way to address criticism FYI. If you want to get into actual discussion about art you can't imply that a genre has strict expectations that a consumer should know about and it's their fault for watching if they don't like it. The unsaid thing in your statement, without you there to clarify, is that "of course it's got all these bad things in it, it's shonen." Words matter.
I hate harems yet can still say a lot of harem animes are poorly written, almost as if the writing for a genre matters more than the actual genre themselves.
It's just people said it's good, I watched 3 episodes and didn't feel ANYTHING but utter boredom, I was deeply annoyed by everyone in the show and their overreactions, faces etc. Nothing, really nothing made me want to keep watching that show. Unlike hajime no ippo, dragon ball, sword art online where I got hooked from first episode, this show was supposed to have fighting scenes in it, yet I have to wait 40 episodes for it to get good? Im sorry, but no thank you.
Every single movie that was like that for me where I didn't like it in the beginning, I also didn't like it mid and late. Perhaps I am wrong and I am missing a lot. But who cares. I just dont want to waste my time watching something that bores me out of my mind. No hate to fans of this show, 9/10 rating from 100.000 people is a fucking phenomenal rating, I bet it gets good later. I just wish they could have done SOMETHING, fucking something in the first 3 episodes to make me keep watching it

Hunter x Hunter is Trash not because it's a shonen, but because it's trash. At the begining the story introduced us to the incipit, Gon wants to follow in his father's footsteps to find him and understand why being an Hunter was so important to him to leave him and his mother. At the and of Chimera Arc the author threw the incipit right out of the window, with Ging waiting for him on a tree even though he did everithing in his power to avoid him. Nice writing right there.

Why do i find tou everywhere
The thing I love the most about these is when the reviewers try to say hey Gon's so unfocused about his main goal. Did they not watch the final episode? When Ging basically says he was obsessed with getting into this tomb to find out what was inside? He also mentions though, that once he got into the tomb, nothing he found there made him quite as happy as the people he met along the way. Shaking hands with them. He wants the adventure, the journey, and most importantly, the friends he meets along the way.
As he says this, Gon reflects on his own journey to reach this point. The friends he met along the way.
Ging is Gon's ancient tomb. He's an excuse to go on an adventure, meet cool people, and do cool things. That's also why Ging dodges him so hard I think. Because he wants to challenge him in that way.
Literally the point of this show is that it's an adventure, generated by an active protagonist who seeks out cool things.

Tbh! Hunter x Hunter seems very childish. It doesn't have that oomph like OPM, Full Metal Alchemist, DBZ or even Naruto. The thing it's good at is its fantasy and has that fairy tail-like vibe to it. But overall the show feels like it has been written by many writers and lacks a set pattern. It feels more like a Disney cartoon for young kids than anime tbh.
I think it’s just the art style and at times whimsical music that might give that impression during the hunter exam arc at least. I could tell there was underlying darkness after seeing the weird faces hisoka was making, though, also when killua headshotted those dudes after the ball game with Netero. After the “schwing” scene and the beginning of the Yorknew arc was when I was really shocked at what the show contained. It was pretty jaw-dropping for me anyway.

Okay this video might be a joke but this is my opinion on HxH
-The hunter exam is okay. It’s not bad just not a standout arc. Like nobody picks the arc as the best arc. i know it’s the first arc so that’s why i don’t think it’s terrible. But compared to the first arc of Bleach and Naruto it pales in comparison.
-Heavens Arena/Zoldyck Family was pretty good. Nen was introduced and we learn more about killua. still not the best. Gon Vs Hisoka was a decent fight and Nen makes the show way more interesting.
-Yorknew City was a masterpiece i don’t care. For me it’s the best arc in HxH and my 2nd favourite arc of all time. The phantom troupe were a amazing group of villains and Kurapika was badass this arc. lots of action nothing to hate. flawless arc. Chrollo is my favourite character
-Greed Island was better than i expected. Gon and Killua grow a lot this arc and Bisky is a great character. The dodgeball was really cool. But Gentru was a weak ass villain and was super boring.... he’s nothing compared to Meruem, Hisoka or Chrollo...
-The Chimera Ant arc was the arc everyone would talk about. Imo it’s good but not as good as i hoped. First off the arc started poorly. with introducing ants we’ve never heard about. in the previous arcs we heard about greed island and the phantom troupe so we had something to look forward to. Kite was really cool but from episode 76-109 the arc wasn’t the best. There’s only 2 things that was interesting during those episodes. Kite vs Pitou and Meruems birth. which accounts for 2 episodes. it wasn’t till episode 110 that they attack the ants in the NGL palace that things get good. from ep 110-136 hunter x hunter went off! and nobody can deny that.
-The election arc was the best way to end the séries given the situation of the manga. Ging, Leorio and the Zodiacs shine during this arc and it’s just what we need for the end of the series.
all in all Hunter X Hunter is a very good shonen and in my top 10 anime ever.

I recommend you listen to "Lamento for Piano", the Zoldyck's theme or "Elegy of the Dynast". Even the fighting OSTs are great, even better than Naruto's imo, such as Hegemony of the food chain, Restriction and pledge or The legend of the martial artist, Hashire.

This is true, after a few weeks of watching a bunch of episodes I got tired of it because it was always the same thing. Once I reached 100 episodes I just stopped and thought of, "Wtf did I just watch?" "It has so many storylines. Too many to be exact."
In conclusion, the show slowly gets boring because its so slow. They extended fighting scenes to 2-4 episodes. I forgot to mention that there are BARELY any good fighting scenes. The first few episodes had ACTUAL good fighting scenes that you would enjoy. I'm glad that Hisoka isn't in it anymore (I don't like him) but the story gets bland and annoying. It's a bit like Naruto where they go on journeys, find new people, etc. BUT, in Naruto you actually understand what the characters are going through and you slowly build a relationship with them while in HXH, once the main character meets someone they become friends on the spot. The narration is also super annoying. The Chimera Ant Arc was probably the worst one.
This is only in my opinion and perspective. So. PLEASE. No hate. :)

Hxh fans might be the dumbest fans I've seen. Other fandoms are also bad but it gets worse for hxh because somewhere down the line hxh fans understood why the show is bad but they're Just dumb adamant people who won't accept it's a bad show.
Minor explanation: during killua vs shoot. Killua is trying to overcome his fear of running away from battles but instead of learning a lesson through sacrifice or a moving moment of gratitude or any other character building stuff he just pulls a pin out which was inserted by his brother, a fucking pin for a flaw which was quoted to be a part of his inherent behaviour through years of early childhood trauma during his training. But no, all of a sudden it's a fucking pin. This is just lazy writing took all my patience away and interest in thr series.
Hxh should stop sucking their dicks and stop being pretentious and actually read or watch stories with real writing and then they might see the reason why people bash hxh

Hunter x hunter is fine but the only thing I hate is Gon, that one father kid who wants to find his dad, this all started from finding his dad to a whole 7 season anime, not to mention that most of the episodes weren't finding Eugene but to do some side quests, Filler to a another level to the point he was useless, I'm talking about one of the worst nen abilities, you see he was born with enchant, a ability to enhance your nin into one point of your fist of anyother body part, Gon's nin ability is literally rock paper scissors, it takes up most of Gon's nin and LITERALLY takes 2 minutes to charge up, that is literally enough time to fold him so plot armour has to save Gon useless ahh, or the enemy can dodge his attack then waste a big portion of his nin, or just waits there until it hits the enemy, most of the time Gon doesn't even use his ability he just punches, that's the only good part about Gon, time skip later into the show I was hyped to see Gon vs King but soon to realized he didn't do anything absolutely nothing, he just ran in, in the hopes of being useful but just sits near Peto for 20 episodes, god that was disappointing, everyone just does all the work for this lazy protagonist, later when Peto vs Gon fight, Gon transforms to his older self 20 years into the future,he finally starts being useful for once and killed Peto, But at the cost of his body being destroyed from the transformation, soon after the Red flower started to take affect every single enemy died one by one including the King, I can't believe it that gotta be one of the worst ways to go out as the most powerful enemy in the literal show man I wish Killua was the protagonist. Conclusion Gon is good but in fights he sucks most of the time useless.

People who say "it has nothing to do with Gon's goal" clearly don't understand the concept of "enjoying the little detours", as Togashi said. HxH is different insofar as it's not the actual goal that matters, but all the way to get there... Gon first wanted to meet his dad, so he passed the hunter exam, but then got friends with Killua and brought him back, then he needed money to get Greed Island which was his only clue, then followed Kaito, which made him uhhh y'know, so that when he finally met Ging he was happy, but it wasn't the main part. He enjoyed a lot more his whole journey, and that's the point...

I think people forget the final message of the series, which is to enjoy the journey. Unlike most animes, instead of the ending being ONE FINAL GOAL FINALLY COMPLETE BLAH BLAH, it's actually realistic and many would actually consider quite bland. Why? Because the creator is emphasizing the J O U R N E Y, and more importantly the relationships made along the way. I think Greed Island was critical for Killua and Gon's relationship before venturing into the Chimera and Arc... or else, I feel like many of the emotions (especially the high-light of Killua's journey of self-worth) behind it would've been blander. I'm not going to do a big analysis, but that example covers many other intellectual criticisms made by others. I don't consider it a normal shounen because every episode and fight isn't just for the "hype train" and is well-thought-out, but it still does have the shounen aspect (i mean duh, it's a shounen anime xD). Overall, "Gon getting distracted" isn't all that unreasonable. I'm already bored of typing, but if you want anything COMPLETELY contradicts this video in a COMPLETELY reasonable way, I'd suggest watching "Aleczandxr," and it'll actually open your eyes to how well this series is crafted. I personally shared the beliefs in this video before I re-watched the anime, and I found I enjoyed the series much more.
(also, if you want to talk about cliche villains, have you noticed that they're shrouded in mystery? Cliche villans= some tragic backstory that's dumped onto you the moment the protagonist is about to beat them. I actually enjoyed that very simple aspect of Togashi avoiding that "cliche villain.")

I actually like the Greed Island arc a lot, it’s a nice “calm before the storm” arc for me at least. It introduced Biscuit, Gon and Killua perfected their special attacks, and I loooooved The Gon vs Genthru fight. People don’t like Genthru because he’s pretty shallow, but I’m honestly ok with it, I wouldn’t if ALL villains in the show were, but they aren’t.

Jake Jen What I meant by progressing the plot is by getting closer to the MC's main goal, which is meeting his father. Gon get no clue whatsoever where Ging is, so there's no plot progression.
First 5 bad Things I can think about Hunter × Hunter.
-It goes from one arc to another without me really noticing.
-A lot of unexplained things and things the characters say that leave me confused and wondering what they mean.
-Netero vs Meruem fight was way to suspenseful.
-Meruem didn't use those powers he got from his Royal Guars against Netero.
-Legend of the Martial Artist" is a cool song, but it plays way too much.

Ok so the first review says there is a pointless season so season one gon archives half of his goal of finding his dad and becoming a hunter so season two introduces nen and some of the phantom troupe season three was getting money for greed island and kurapika trying to kill the phantom troupe so when they get the money they go to greed island which they think will help them find gons dad ging so after that they find kite which they think will help find ging so after all of that gon was even more compelled to find ging so yea so the final season was about healing gon finding a replacement for netero and gon finding ging
