And with your permission I’m going to add some more things to the recommendation … apart from the animation, the story and character development in Grimgar story is great (in the anime they just adapt only the first 2 volumes of the LN, but it’s a great story, the anime was aired in 2016 and I’m still waiting for 2rd season 🥲)
Ok so I actually just watched the first two episodes, to stray away from my biases on these kind of shows and go in open minded. Although it had some great moments, I concluded this is not for me. I can't really explain it, but I geuss it has to do with the plot, the animation style and being generic outside those great moments. A show I understand other people may enjoy, but not unique in these aspects to be a great show and worth the hype.

can you elaborate on the 'generic' part. is it the fact that reincarnation is very common? is it the fact that the mc was an airhead? can you explain which part you called generic
@@akiko2559 i can see why it's generic, if we take out the critical points of the story. But that's the problem those are the critical parts of the story, the turning point. It's pacing may be slow at times due to it building up the tension, which is a good tactic within storytelling especially about tragedy. If the person themself deems that the pacing is too slow most for them, then i won't judge them as there is no such thing as a perfect story for everyone. At the very least the guy, tried it and decided for themself, that it wasn't for them. Atleast the person isn't blatantly toxic about it, it can be discretely toxic, but since we'll never truly know this person, all we can do is give them the benefit of the doubt.

However recent chapters are a bit, lacking the same quality or umf as it used to had, but i still wanna see where it goes till the very end, a story can be have a good premise, yet how the ending is executed and what builded up to that point are still crucial factors to a story.

I’m a huge Fmab fan and I watched oshi no ko. I PERSONALLY don’t think it is better but it’s still a good anime and I can’t stop singing the opening

It's worth it. Completely. One of my favorites.
People don't get that hyped anime can get popular but never overtake the position of some influential animes. Oshi no ko, spy family and love war is anime culture hype products and aot and fmab are goats. Plus people don't give credit to right series.
for the painting Bit I think what you meant was oil painting which is an extremely old and forgotten style of painting it is also the same type of art style used to paint the Mona Lisa as well as a few other historical paintings but I too also like the art style that they used that references oil paintings in the animation the entire anime is beautifully done from story and plot as well as the art style's used in the anime it is quite clear that the animators spared no budget in making the anime
Artist here, oil painting is NOT a forgotten method, there's still a lot of artists that use oil paint, it's just not as mainstream anymore, with the emergence of many other mediums that artists can use.
I believe oil paintings originated from Europe or France🤔 and yes I know quite well that they are not as mainstream as they used to be in fact it's almost a forgotten art Style on terms of the number of people that paint in this style people nowadays use computers to make art
It's good. But it's really overrated. Only blind fans would say that it's not.
for your information the animation software's have the option for watercolor style painting , and if you shocked to see that kind of frames then what is about Hayao Miyazaki and Makoto Shinkai's movies which are have the classical painting and a short 3d CGI blend in there animations. which is slightly very photorealistic in compared to Oishi No Ko.

Personally I think its wayyyy too overrated…I forced myself to watch all the current eps and I just didn’t enjoy them that much even though I’m a massive fan of the idol genre. At this point i just want the opening and oshi no ko to get off my recommendation list… (my opinion)

IT WAS NOT.
Correction: the Anime so far has been mostly about teenage drama, not entertainment industry bad sides, like a Perfect Blue for example. People say in the manga they have already started exploring more of it, but as for the first season there is basically none of that. And the season is pretty mid, the first ep is dope, but after that, it takes 4 or 5 eps to something really interesting or impacting to happen again. So to me, even though I didn’t hate watching it, I think it is overrated, and the pacing is also terrible, after a few eps I ended up waiting for the season to finish so I could watch every at once and actually see something interesting happening.

I don’t understand why people think it’s so good. The first episode really hooked me and I went and read the manga. It was so damn boring and took 80 chapters for it to get back to the actually plot. Which then it sets up some other plot but by that point I could not give a fuck anymore.

Some people were saying that it is good but doesn't deserve the first place (especially a few FMAB fans💀) but I think it does bc the plot is pretty unique and intriguing while showing the things idols and actors have to go through and it is depicted so well. The animators are doing such good job. You know they are givinh their heart and soul to it when the anime gives you more feels than the manga (Ai's death was more traumatising to me in anime than manga, maybe bc of the music, hyperventilation but for me, the most traumatising was that one panel of lifeless corpse. I get shivers everytime.) The op and ed are both bop too! I think it is one of the best anime adaptation a manga got.
saying Idols has it rough and are underpaid tickles the middle class pride, I can name a thousand job who has it more rough, and the plot is ass, reincarantion + incest, the dialog is poor, the same old repeated harem (sister, mom, childhoodfriend, cowerker/classmate), and those who likes this shit's only arguments is FMAB, like attacking another show won't make yours any better lol, btw I'm a kaiji fan if you want to get some critics on that
@@Dorimidori651 Idols DO have it rough. What you're forgetting is that most idols are pretty young and fans can be creepy af. Like the hardwork and consistency to maintain their looks, reputation in public and keeping up the expectations with their performances to be able to earn fame and decent amount of money is the part which people can say "That's the price for being an idol." But these young idols recieve enormous amount of hate, generally for absurd reasons. Some "fans" are creepy af and majority of idols have been assaulted in one way or other (physically, mentally, etc.) Many get death threats just for maintaining their personal space, which most of them aren't allowed to have. And these are just the MOST common ones. I don't think the plot is @ss but you do you. And bro, you got it ALL wrong. It ain't harem. Yes, it is complicated with Aqua having crush on Ai and Gorou being Serena's crush while Akane and Kana liking Aqua but nonetheless, Ai is Aqua's mother and she's dead. Ruby is literally his sister in this life so NO WAY💀 I know Aka Akasaka writes great stuff and making Ruby (not Serena) fall for Aqua is trash plot, which he won't do, no way. Akane has legit reasons to like Aqua, he saved her and did a lot for her but he clearly doesn't see her that way. The endgame, as I see it right now, is Kana and they both seem to have good understanding of each other and they support each other well too. Pls don't give me spoilers if you're a manga reader tho.
tbh the anime peaks at episode 1 and the rest of the episodes just fell flat and it was legit like i was watching a different ass anime

TBH, Oshi no Ko is not that worth the hype IMO. There is already some anime or games that show the darkside of the entertainment industry such as Perfect Blue, Bandori (Pastel Palettes), Project Sekai (More More Jump!) and to an extent the OG Idolm@ster.
Don't get me wrong Oshi no Ko has a good story and it gets better later on, the art is great, which is why I can understand why people say it's worth the hype and say it's good.
But I don't like it personally because of people overhyping it because of a premise that isn't even unique in reality and I can't like the characters since the Manga is forcing me to like them.

Even though I also feel that it's worth the hype, new watchers shouldn't go in expecting it to be the best anime they've ever seen. That can set them up for disappointment simply because it's not what they expect, and they'll feel like it's not worth the hype at all.
Also, it's not for everybody.

@@sarkazm6011 Well, I've really enjoyed Oshi no Ko, so if there's another anime where a male character is murdered, a young female character dies of a terminal disease, both are reincarnated as the twins of an idol who is murdered, the reincarnated female character follows in her mother's footsteps to become an idol, and the son embarks on a plan of revenge to kill whoever was responsible for his mother's murder, just shoot me a title and I'll give it a look.
But if you're suggesting that Oshi no Ko is a copy or derivative of something like Redo of Healer, Jobless Reincarnation, Idolish7, or even My Life as Inuaki-san's Dog, then we can just disagree and both watch and enjoy whatever the hell we want to.

What you said was right, but as an artist, the style of that scene where Aqua swears to avenge his mother is NOT supposed to imitate watercolour. If you ask me, it's an imitation of mixed media: oil/acrylic paint, oil pastels, crayons and coloured pencils.

I wouldn't put it above such literal masterpieces as AOT, but it is hard to look away from. The first episode got me bad, I thought about it for days.
All that hype, you watch 1 or 2 episode then you're become a Oshi addict. You walk up and down, looking at the date, getting aggro with anyone and talking to yourself when the next episode is coming

The first episode is honestly great but the rest of it is just another generic Anime where Aqua gets the girls left and right yet he's the guy who doesn't return the love. Of course they all try so hard for him and it makes the filler episodes hardly endurable. Kana, Akane, MEM-cho, all of them at one point considering the main male protagonist as romantic interest. Felt like I was watching the annoying Motto To Love Ru, for the ecchi. I really hate it, and it's sad how this had so much potential. Not to speak of the amount of hidden and open ped3philia and inc3st going on here.

Just watched the 1st episode! I did chainsmoked after that.
I binged the whole show but when I started reading the manga I immediately stopped because aqua and ruby got a little too close honestly its really weird giving that they’re technically siblings and if you bring up they’re past life she was like 12 correct if im wrong but I think that’s the age she died and he was a whole adult so I personally didn’t like it 😭
It makes such a random turn in the manga I'd say it's not worth the hype but that's just me. But the first episode will be the only good episode of the series that's all imma say
I’m on episode three and this show is not at all what I expected
I love the anime but I feel the dub is very lack luster in comparison. The voice actors chosen don’t exactly fit the roles given, specifically Ai and rubys voice actors. My first time hearing it I assumed it was some parody dub or something, I’ve gotten used to it by now though, and considering how quick the dub came out when it takes a good while for an anime to gain a dub, it felt like the casting was rushed. But still, the anime is great over all

1st few min, u might think "ah shit, here we go another kawaii girl anime..."
but after 30mins, you get started to be interested in it's plot, such as you reincarnate as your favorite girl's child, and now she is murdered in front of you and you are going to seek for revenge.
Who would imagine this huge scheme in the first few mins?
Nobody. But the required showdown only revealed that this is nothing new
