- Pinocchio's Daring Journey opened in 1983 at Disneyland in California and has become one of the classic dark rides at the theme park. On a ride through this ride at Disneyland, the ride broke down, the work lights came on, and we were evacuated off the ride and got an in show exit. Check out this rare view of this Disneyland ride!

In Disney world pirates of the Caribbean broke down and we were right next to the kitty guy. We ended up having to listen to "here kitty kitty" over and over again for about 30 minutes. It was terrible.
Taster Bros Getting stuck on any of the water rides takes forever. I have a friend that had to be evacuated off of the final lift hill of Splash Mountain and it took over an hour because they had to drain the water XD

When I went spaceship earth broke down as soon as it got to the top and my head was right beside a speaker that constantly said we’re heading back to earth turning space ship around for 30 minutes. It was awful

Ahhh!! I was there! I was actually in line, determined to get over my fear of this dang ride, when they started taking everyone off. I think I would’ve had a heart attack had I been just a few people ahead. It’s been my fear to get stuck on this ride since childhood! 😭😹
Because of this channel, my kids are actually hoping for a ride break down on their first trip to Disney! :)

When I was at Disneyland Paris in 2015, we went on big thunder mountain and it was just by the end and we had broke down on the big drop where it was pitch black and there were "bats" above our heads . We got evacuated through a secret sort of exit and we got to see a little backstage magic .
Chance to get evacuated at BIg thunder mountain in paris is something that could happen every day. Somehow the safety stops happen quiet easy there. I think i was reading something about the fact that the safety devices are very sensible there and tend to stop on even small events. Had the same but on the first lift with the goat on the one side.

This video highlights how simple and two dimensional these old style Fantasyland dark rides are... yet I wish Disney would still build some. Not everything has to be an E-Ticket and some parks (I’m looking at you Hollywood Studios) could use some of these as fillers.
The runaway railway will probably be screens. 2.5d is an animation term. It means to make 2D animation look 3D. Usually this is done with lighting effects/animation techniques, but since they claimed this was "new" I don't think that's what they're going for. Most likely, it'll be a 3D screen ride with traditional 2D animation and 2D set pieces used as forced perspective. I'm hoping an animatronic will be thrown in somewhere but it seems unlikely based on the initial description..I feel they would have just said animatronics if they really planned on having any.
That makes sense, but like I said: I think if they planned on using any..they would have said so. The set pieces will most likely be built to look both flat looking and 3D at the same time, creating the 2.5D animation effect in real life. It'll be impressive, I'm sure (as it's Disney) but I wouldn't expect to feel like you're entering the world of Mickey Mouse as other Disney dark rides make you feel. It'll just be an impressive to look at screen/practical magic effect. I really hope I'm wrong, but I can't see 2.5D being done with an animatronic since...at that point it's a 3D figure lol. I guess they could project the 2D animation onto a 3D animatronic figure cut in half to create that effect, but again at that point: might as well use a 3D figure.
AMagicProduction I was just thinking the same thing the other day. With all of the new Lands that Disney is building there seems to be something missing.. Filler is what they need

just chiming in just about everything is screen related as far as modern rides, when you are looking to maximize profits its the way to go, as open park space shrinks and you still need to expand a ride that takes up a lot of ground isn't cost effective. New stuff has to be green lighted by the mbas too. i enjoy newer ques over the rides themselves, they are putting more detail into them than the ride. You can still find amazing innovation in dark style type rides at the newer Asian parks, but they just won't sacrifice the space in Florida or California.

I went on Pinocchio’s daring journey last summer and it broke down in the same spot! So cool to see the weird colors with the show lights off and the regular lights on. They were very strict with cameras and asked me to put my phone away. Very cool experience though! I’ve evacuated off of big thunder as well, right at the end. Love that kind of stuff!
I was at disney world last year and o ellen energy. When the curtain raises up and goes to the dinosaurs the ride stopped and we had to do an in show exit. The ride never opened up again after that all day. We kept checking up on it. Even when we left it was still down
This was back about 7- 8 years ago at the Disneyland park in Anaheim and I was taking part of a school trip with my junior high band, I was a student at the time. We rode BTM and got stuck on the turn just before the last drop into the station and the whole time me, a few classmates, chaperones and other Disneyland guests sung kumbaya until a Disney employee came to our rescue. We walked the huge flight of stairs all the way up and back to the station. Sadly my mom, who was one of the chaperones, wasn’t in the best shape because of her knees but it was a worthwhile experience while I went to Disneyland. Also, seeing the animatronics move while still going through the ride was a bit off putting haha. I treasure that moment so much.

Most of them don't break down. It's always moving so wheelchair people have to get out

That's nothing. I actually stopped the Haunted Mansion ride twice during the same ride. First when the lap bar wouldn't lock, and 2nd when the unloading area tripped me and I fell.
One time I was on Radiator Springs Racers and our cars broke down right before we were about to race. We where there for about 5-8 minutes. When we finally started to move, there was no car sounds coming out of the speakers behind our heads. So we had a quite race 😂. It was really funny
At Disneyland the little mermaid ride dropped right st the under the sea part. Ariel kept dancing and dancing and the song kept respiring. Then they turned all the lights on and it was so cool to walk almost half the ride so close to the props.
Once, on Splash Mountain I got stuck on the part RIGHT before the drop! We were litterally inches away from a 50 foot drop! Then, we got escorted down the stairs and off the ride. I’ve been on so many different in show/off sho exits on Splash Mountain. It’s crazy how many times it actually breaks down! Btw, your videos are great!
One time I had to evacuate goofy’s fly school and I was doing single rider with my friend so we got pretty separated and I was like done with the ride literally I just finished that one last hard brake and then just had to turn into the loading zone but it just stopped and then the lights turned on and the Disney fire department helped us out. My freaking on the other hand was all the way up at the top and she just had to walk down the stairs I believe but yea after that we each got 3 fast passes(there were 4 of us including my sis and her bf, they didn’t go on) and then later we went on radiator springs racers and almost got stuck at like the tractor part like the vehicle and audio just stopped but the car was still running and they announced they they were have tech difficulties and then it started up again it took a while a for the audio to come back on though.

I went to Peter pan's flight and I got stuck for like 20 minutes and I got so bored, but then when it was working again, the flying ship went really fast and I almost got butterflies in my tummy XD!
I was once at Disney World and the Tower of terror broke down and the lights went on and we got to experience a ride with lights on it was awesome

One time I got stuck on Rock’in Rollercoaster on a loop to loop! We eventually slid down after a few seconds, but it was scary. Also, I got stuck on Space Mountain just before a big drop. But at the time, we didn’t know!

My Family and I once got stuck on Tower of Terror in Disney World and remained in the little area before the drop for about 10 minutes. I remember being terrified, because I didn't like that ride back then and so I started crying. Everyone around us was so nice and tried to help my parents calm down. The cast members came over the intercom and told us the ride was resuming and then we finished the ride. It was one of the best and worst moments of my life.
When I was nine, the first time I ever went on SpaceMountain at DW, it got stuck just as we were going up the hill at the beginning of the ride for a long times, then the lights came up and they started the ride again and we ended up riding with the lights on. At the time I was super disappointed but now I have done something that most Disney fans have dreamed of.
i had to evacuate Indiana Jones and it took them and hour and thirty minutes to get us off. plus we had Blue bayou reservations.

Was riding Splash Mt at Disney World on one of first days it was opened after being closed through winter. We got stopped right before the big drop. They turned the lights on and we had to walk through part of the ride and go outside of the actual ride/park and back in where they gave us all fastpasses. It was kind of cool to see the boulders and extra pieces in the back of the ride.
Half way through splash mountain at magic kingdom splash mountain broke down and we had to get out of our log right before the first falls and walk down the stairs through most of the inside of the ride, it was awesome to see all the set up close.

I experienced 2 breakdowns on big thunder mountain in Disney world which both lead to in show exits, that’s my favorite ride so it was pretty cool to walk through some of it!
I was stuck on space mountain in January for 35 mins! I got to go under the track and through the light tunnel with the lights on!
Never been on a ride with a 'breakdown', but I was stopped briefly on the Land of Fairy Tales boat ride in Disneyland Paris! We continued after several minutes though. Also the Disneyland Railroad, there was this kid who kept waving his arms outside and trying to grab tree branches and stuff. It caused the train to do an emergency stop twice, and he got a good telling off from the guard!
On space ship earth, the lights went on half way through the coaster. The ride kept going, and it was absolutely amazing to ride with the lights on.
I've been on Indiana Jones and Matterhorn at Disneyland California when they've broken down and seeing the BTS was the best part of the rides 😁

Back in 2008, went on a school trip program to WDW and went to Magic Kingdom. We rode Splash Mountain and at the second lift hill (the tool shack lift) it stopped. Minutes passed and eventually, the water falling from our lift drained out. We got stuck there for almost 30 minutes. We got escorted out through the ride’s pipelines and eventually exited through the sets. Went through the musical finale and the robots moved but with no sound. Finally, we passed by Br’er Rabbit and got to touch his hind legs. , and at the final exit we got handed general fast passes to compensate for the accident. I will never forget this cool yet annoying event.
I was on Spaceship Earth when it broke down. It came back up in about 30 minutes but it was actually kind of cool to look at the animations in more detail now that it had stopped.
On the last day of the great movie ride being open I experienced an in show exit and got to get up close to the animatronics
Space Mountain broke down right before the spot where you get your photo taken. 2 cast members came & grabbed a hold of our coaster & moved us forward to the exit.

Was riding Indiana Jones when it broke down and we were on the part with the bridge. We got to walk through about half the attraction and saw an awesome hidden Mickey of a skeleton wearing a Mickey mouse hat. It was pretty cool!
I actually got stuck on the matterhorn (no surprise) and we got stuck tilted. It took a while for a cast member to help us out, so in the meantime we tried to tip the car the other way (of course it didn't work) and when we got out, we saw the behind the scenes of it. Very cool

My mom and I were on Indiana Jones at Disneyland and the ride stopped. They were not able to evacuate the ride due to our car had some people who could not walk off the ride due to a broken leg. We got stuck on that ride for 2 hours. It was pretty cool to see the work lights on but man it was so long of a wait
Was evaced off of Splash Mountain the FIRST time I ever rode it when I was younger. It was right at the end of ride passed the final scene. Was stuck for a good hour and a half before they finally let us out. They pulled the boat over to the side so we could get out and then walked through Backstage to get back into the park.

One time me and my friend went to DCA and we were in line for the Ariel ride, it was a long line and I had a weird feeling about it. I told my friend it would be cool if the ride broke down so we got onto the ride and lord and behold the ride stopped but only for a few seconds. It was something I would never forget
We (almost) we’re on this ride one trip, and it broke down just before we boarded and everything stopped moving. Pinocchio was just staring at us with a blank, soulless expression.
I broke down on splash mountain in disneyland once, got walked out to the backlot part and they gave us a special pass to use on any of the E ticket rides we wanted later on that day.

I was on Pirates at Disneyland once and we got stuck at the very edge of the second drop. I was in front and I was literally suspended in the air for about 15 minutes. It was my friends very first ride because I had convinced them you had to go on Pirates first just in case it broke down. Talk about jinxing it!
I remember getting stuck not once but TWICE on the haunted mansion and once on the little mermaid in Disney world and Tbh it made me so happy...
I actually got stuck on the same ride as well, And the exact same spot. I had to stare at Geppetto for like 5 minutes straight
I broke down on pre-Tron test track over at epcot and It took a while for the cast members to get to us. We didn't go on any scenic routes just down some stairs in a corner and were given fast passes to use at any ride.

The first time I visited a Disney Theme Park was June 2017 (Disney World). I was on the haunted mansion ride when it broke down I was sitting in my car in the hallway for like 10 minutes. Finally it started moving again and I got to finish the ride
I remember my family and i went to Disneyland, and our first ride, its a small world after all, broke down, and the dolls stopped moving, but kept singing, it was so painful listening to that song for 40 minutes
My first ever trip to disney world was when i was 6. there was a hurricane going on in florida. a lot of rides were shutting down due to the rain and wind. the first ride i ever rode in disney was the haunted mansion. well, halfway through the ride it shut down. i mean all power was out except for the emergency lights. the music was no longer playing but the scary sounds and phrases from the ride were still going. IT WAS TERRIFYING. but hey, at least ill always remember my first disneyworld ride!
Broke down on Space Mountain once. They brought the lights up and everyone gasped lol. Weird seeing it without the space effect.
I was at the Animal Kingdom park a couple weeks sgo and we were riding Expedition Everest and when we saw the projection of the yeti, we stopped and to get off. All in all, we had to go down 18 flights of stairs and on a slim pathway.
It wasn't a dark ride but I did get stuck on Oblivion at Alton Towers. When me and my family went, we went on Oblivion (and for those who don't know, Oblivion is a vertical drop coaster) and luckily we dropped just before the ride broke down. We were stuck at the brakes at the end for about 30 minutes to an hour. We could see someone stuck at the top of the ride, where they're looking down
Here’s a story for ya:
My friend and I were at the “Mickey’s Not So Scary” Halloween Party, and we went on Splash Mountain. After the final drop we were study at the boat part of the ride. You know that song “Zippy do da”? Yeah, we were stuck right there. We were there for twenty minutes(at least, that’s what I remember) while my friend’s leg was shaking.
And that’s pretty much it.
When I was at Disney world on April4th we were in line for spaceship earth. It broke down three times while we were in line. On the actual cart it went super slow, and broke down four times while we were on! Once at the Roman scene after the library was burnt, one with the newspaper boy, once at the movie theater, and once before you go into the garage. I was only able to get one good picture and it was of a reporter near the movie theater. I posted it to my Instagram @eversdistrip if anyone wants to see it.
Yes, expedition Everest, it was terrifying and we had to walk down 18 flights of stairs inside the mountain
You should’ve looked to the right and saw the blue fairy back there. A really cool effect.
I have two breakdown stories!
1. When I was VERY YOUNG, I got stuck on Splash Mountain right where you get onto the final lift hill for the big drop. We got stuck for about an hour, but we never got to do an in show exit out of the ride. Within 20 minutes we were repeating the vultures repetitive lines as they were saying them. It was very boring, but thankfully I don't remember the entirety of being stuck because I was about 6 or 7 when this happened.
2. Last time I went to a Disney park (back in late September 2017) I was on the super fast Cars ride (I can't remember what it's called I apologize) and got stuck right after we were escaping the "bull" tractor when tractor tipping. Thankfully it was for such a short time they were able to swiftly fix the problem after just 15 minutes and we continued the rest of the ride AND the ride operators were kind enough to give us a chance to ride it again to make up for the wait, which I thought was super awesome and I give mega props to the ride operators who let us do that :)

I was on splash mountain at Disneyworld in Florida when the ride stopped and the work lights came on. We didn’t get evacuated but we had to sit there for 10 minutes before it started again. Might try submitting that through the form as I was filming

Pirates of the Caribbean in WDW. We were in the last scene with jack and waited about an hour to get us out. Fire department had to come and had to walk a plank across the water to get onto the set from the water. We got to go backstage which was neat... and a fastpass
Back when the new test track opened, there was a malfunction on the ride, causing a fire. My group and I were in the “make your car” section and the doors on both sides opened and people came charging in through both directions. I was terrified because I was about 7 or 8 and I was like 3 foot something then so I was getting stepped on by adults at times. Luckily we all got out the correct was and got fast passes to any ride and some free ice cream since I got injured.
Yes I have. I believe Splash Mountain broke down but we did not exit. The ride restarted. Same with Pirates of the Caribbean.
We went to Disney world a few years back, and on our last day there, Space Mountain had broken down during our ACTUAL ride, the lights came on and you could see the entire roller coaster, it was actually really neat to see.

I actually had an in show exit in carrousel of progress. It was acting funky to begin with. Half of the car was in the last scene, for 2 scenes it kept going. And then they stopped the show and let us out of it. Me and my family got fast passes so were happy lol
I was on the Winnie the Poah ride at Disney World and it broke down so we were escorted off the ride and saw how tigger worked. It was really cool.
I was on peterpan and it broke down when we were hanging over the little city 😂😂 and u were actually up so it made it kinda scary
We got stopped on Disney Animal Kingdoms Epcot, and evacuated. The floor was sticky but overall it was a great experience since that is one of my favorite rides, it wasn’t as good as an experience for my sisters, one managed to leave her phone on the ride and the other was wearing flip flops which the sticky floor didn’t help. I took a few tiny bad photos of the interior, but overall had a blast and the cast even managed to find my sisters phone.
Happened to me in 2009 LEAVING THE LOAD STATION. Cast member accidentally tapped the skirt on the vehicle with his foot. The skirts on the dark ride vehicles cause an E stop as a safety precaution in response to the Roger Rabbit accident. Same thing happened to me between unload and load stations in September. I have videos of both on my channel.
Also experienced breakfowns and evacs from Pirates, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Monster's Inc, the People Mover, and *ahem* Muppetvision 3D.
On my 1st trip to EPCOT - the ride before it was re-named "ELLEN RIDE" (now CLOSED) broke down & we all had to walk to exit. I returned later to re-do the ride.

At Disneyland Paris
I was on Big Thunder Mountain ( the one there is it’s own island). To get there you would have to go under ground. During the middle of the ride it broke down and we had to go through various tunnels to get back to the actual entrance of the ride
I went to disney 2 weeks ago and at magic kingdom every ride we went on broke down for 3 minutes and resume back. I was so lucky that space mountain did'nt break down

My first experience was at Universal Orlando in the BACK TO THE FUTURE: THE RIDE. Right at the end of the finale, all the deloreans are suppose to retract, but ours didn't, it got stuck. We felt a lot of banging on the bottom of the ride, because they were trying to fix it, nothing happen though. It was almost an hour until we finally got evacuated, man I'll never forget crawling in the vents, we pass through electric boards, passing through the big pipes, little pipes, and then we got to our destination to the exit, wow, good times.
That was my first time on the Back to the Future Ride, because I'm a huge fan of the movies, even though the first on the ride, we didn't expect getting stuck on it. I was a little kid back then when it happen, as a kid, you don't question that much what's behind the ride, you just enjoy the experience, but after that breakdown, me and my family had the opportunity to witness what make these rides work while we were being escort to the exit.

I've only experienced a couple of breakdowns while riding. I always wish that Mansion would break down, but it never happens when I'm on it!
I been on ponnochio daring adventure when it broke down. I was on their in show exit. Instead of me being like brother I was supper happy.
When I was 6 i was really scared of the indiana jones ride and when it broke downs my mom comforted me and told me it was fake. But NOW I LUV the indiana jones ride
