@@APenchantforSewing as someone who recently sewed an invisible hem on the 6 meters of length at the bottom of a walking skirt.... I get that! But, it gives me something mindless to do with my hands while me and my roommate yell at Netflix about plot holes. 😅😂
Genius use of overcasting! I haven’t finished the video but I feel like simply over casting that edge would make finishing the inside ruffle edge much easier later on. Maybe not even having to finish it further. At least I have a skirt in mind that I want to make, a ruffled wrap skirt, that I think I will overcast and not worry about it besides that. I mean I think it’ll hold up. I don’t wash my skirt super often anyway because I don’t wear them daily. Maybe a few times a month for a few hours only. Now I’ll watch to see if you decide to finish it further. 😄

Now you have me thinking again😅 currently my skirt is just a bunch of ideas floating around in my head. We shall see how it turns out or if I ever make it. Currently working on a long sleeve dress shirt for my husband. So we’ll see. But as always, a wonderful video from you. I truly enjoyed every minute of it.😊
I'm glad you liked the video. Yes, I think simply overcasting the edge could definitely work. You can overcast it after gathering and attaching the ruffle to keep the gathers from messing around. That's why I usually leave in the top gathering thread as well. There are several ways to attach ruffles, I chose the most difficult one because I am very insecure and super strong seams give me power.
What a beautiful underskirt! The “mistake” has made it even more gorgeous than it was!
Oh my, I absolutely love this. 80 metres of hand stitching???!!! I'm completely blown away! It looks amazing.
Thank you!
I adore this project. The result is very pretty and all the handsewing porn was very satisfying. 🥰🥰🥰
I love tucks. They make floof magical.
Thanks. I love tucks too but they take sooooo long to stitch, I always give up.

Very nice and fine needling! The result is gorgeous. Thx for all the details❤
I have also, on multiple occasions, thought that I messed something up resulting messing up for real. I feel you!

@@APenchantforSewing power😂 I love it!! I think that’s a great idea to help keep the gathers in place too.
A really lovely project. I admire your patience with the hand sewing which is exquisite
