I watched that estate get built from my bedroom window. Before they put the pitched roofs on, we would sneak in the building site and run up and down on the rooftops.
I lived on the Acorn Estate at the same time, and we used to go down to the yellow brick building site and clown around too. One night we found a massive excavator parked up with the keys left in the ignition, so we started it up and got it moving before jumping out. It went off for a drive to Goldsmith Road on its own.
All the middle class people want to live in Peckham now. 😂🤣 When I grew up there in the 80s/90s nobody from outside the area wanted to live there as it was seen as a slum. People used to say to me, "Peckham? You must have a death wish living there." But when you grow up in an area you don't worry about it like that.
@@nsnsnsnsnsnns2782 Ah swear? I was wondering what happened to those walkways above the streets in North Peckham Estate. And it seems like where Damilola got killed is gone too?
