In the midst of this vast natural beauty, around two million acres of federally protected wilderness exists. Here motorized transport is prohibited. So how does one get around in the winter? Enter the Denali dogs. Denali is the country’s only national park with a working sled dog kennel. Let’s go meet the hard-working huskies!

Hopefully they can hunt as much as they want to feed the dogs.... those guys can eat a BOAT LOAD of food... especially that they pull sleds almost every day...
el jay.... they do look good... but considering no motorized vehicle allowed they probably have enough dogs to pull 3 sleds at least... but with that many dogs, they could eat an entire adult deer in about 1 week or less... think how much food that is if you have to buy it... allowing them to hunt for meat is a REALLY good option to have...
They had a problem like that in Canada and Alaska before... there was this unique story where this guy had 22 dogs, nobody would take that many dogs at once... he didn't have the money to feed them... so he killed them all with a knife instead of starving them to death...
Since this kennel is located within Denali NP, it's a federally run operation, and the dogs are extremely well cared for. This isn't a privately-owned racing kennel. While the video shows the kennel manager, there are many other handlers assigned to care for the dogs. And because there are no motorized vehicles allowed to traverse the park, the kennel is still accessible by vehicle, meaning reliance on wild game is unnecessary (and sometimes illegal).

"Too much blood meat can put them a little wild."
That's not a thing. They are dogs.

Don't forget to feed them or it could turn into some horror movies just joking
awesome video but sad that they have to be chained up 😕
its not sad, in fact those dogs are perfectly happy to pull sled and chain so, look up google about their study.
vn01208503 ahh I didn't mean like pulling the sled. sorry for my wording. I meant when they are back at the reserve. I thought with the fences, they would be able to run around at home at least.
Awkward in the Kitchen yea that did. thank you for that
Kennels are not effective in harsh climates that receive excessive snow in winter. Kennels collapse, become buried in snow, allowing dogs to escape. Tethering is effective for large numbers of dogs if managed correctly, as it is done here. Tethering provides dogs their own space, and chains that are long enough to allow dogs to interact with their neighbors.
This blog post by Iditarod musher Liz Parrish describes the benefits of tethering.

That's sucks to be one of those dogs
carlos hernandez why
Just be chained up out side then have to drag humans around by force they stay there there hole life
you can't force them to pull. if they don't want to pull then they make terrible sled dogs. the ones who don't have a drive to run long distances and pull get adopted out as pets. @@playboyagent7586
