    First flights are so cool. People learn in a moment why we love flying so much. :-) Her reaction at takeoff was beautiful.

      You are exactly right! It’s not something you can explain, it must be experienced to understand.

    Sister is so darn cute. Love how expressive her face is. She seems to have good ground reference. She needs to get up in the air more often. Great video!

    Loved her eyes at liftoff. Nice, gentle first flight. Save the stalls and steep turns until they’re comfortable and hooked. 😃

      Yep, she was pretty relaxed, but I don’t think she would have appreciated a stall 😀

      It is much more enjoyable for me too. I enjoy explaining some of the things going on and it keeps me from the distractions of having a passenger. Win-win. Thanks for watching!

    Amazing how relaxed your sister was after the landing. Door wide open enjoying the breeze! God bless her she was a great copilot. Xlent Flying.......... you were very ATP like. Great video.

    • @m5aviation895
      @m5aviation895  5 лет назад

      Thank you. What a nice compliment about the ATP. I have so much fun while flying, but I also take it very seriously.
      Yes, she definitely was relaxed wasn’t she. It’s nice recording my flights because I would never get to see all of these reactions, etc., since I’m focusing my attention elsewhere.
      Thank you for watching and you comment.

    Very cool ,I flew out of Anoka alot around 1979 when they had a Cessna, Piper, Beechcraft and Grumman dealerships. I did them all lol . Great videos, Thanks

      I’m glad you enjoyed it! I hear and read a lot about the “old days” of general aviation. It would have been pretty cool to see all those dealerships at the Anoka airport. Maybe it will happen again some day:)

    I watched this before I went on my first flight in a small plane this Saturday. My 15-year-old, grandson is taking lessons. I was allowed to tag along. I was so scared, but it was an awesome experience. It was quite a challenge for this "72-year-old" grandma. Thanks for the video.

    Im a proud pilot and owner of an Archer. So in love with this bird.
    One note. Not sure if its a myth but some say it’s better to hanger airplanes with least amount of fuel possible. Please correct me if im wrong. Still trying to investigate the rational behind this rumor.

      Thank you for watching! I fill tanks to full after use to help prevent condensation in the tanks. The drawback to this approach is that if you want to load the plane to max TO weight with passengers, baggage, etc., you are limiting your options due to potentially excess fuel.

    I enjoyed your video as a student pilot about to take my checkride and looking forward to taking family up. It seemed you passenger safety briefing missed a few points like your sister unsure when to close the door. Also, I don't know your experience level, but taking off with a new passenger when traffic is on a 2 mile final is more of an expedited takeoff then I would consider (as a new pilot).

    • @m5aviation895
      @m5aviation895  Год назад +1

      Thanks for the comments. I have been waiting for someone to point out the door issue. I definitely missed that one in the brief. We had talked about it in passing before, but not specifically on this flight. I make sure to mention that now after watching the replay. Also, my passengers have no effect on me accepting an expedited departure clearance, unless they were to distract me inadvertently, at which point I would reject the clearance. Thanks, and good luck with your flying adventures.

    15:24 (autoland experience) I was on a flight to Boston many years ago and touchdown was rough. The Captain apologized and said the weather was so bad (mid winter) they had to let the computer handle it.

      I use it the majority of the time while taxiing (unless I forget). The max speed is around 40 mph so you cannot use it in flight.
