Seeing him return the first time was a genuine shock. He was dead, but was still pursuing his goals. It was ominous, and unexpected. Afterwards, he just became a nuisance. They should have let him die off after the second encounter
One thing I noticed is that after the party left Guadosalam, the Guado spread that Yuna wanted to marry even when she didn’t decide yet when you see Shelinda. That had to be to pressure her to accept because if she said no, Yuna would be painted as the bad one of the situation because Seymour is a “nice guy”
Funny thing about Seymour, unlike most other villains in the series, I can't see him as a dissadia character. He doesn't have the kind of magic to allow him freedom of movement, at least in his regular form. Plus his story always seemed to tightly bound to the ffx story it doesn't leave much room for flexibility in a setting like dissadia
I've never played dissidia, but I do agree with him seeming too tightly bound to the FFX story. I always figured he was too obsessed with Yuna and the party. Like we understand his overall desire of wanting to become Sin to "cause spira's suffering to end" by destroying it, but in his human form there wasn't much diversity in his actions apart from chasing the party. That's why I wish he did more with his position in yevon than just launch an attack on home, and even then that was just to kidnap yuna.
He has a role in the mobile game Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia. Transported to a world without Sin, he quickly decided that the people there needed to be freed from becoming playthings of the gods there. (“Freed” means “killed,” of course)
Seymour’s story is veeery similar to King Ludwig II of Germany. Being sent away with his mom to a remote castle. Traumatic childhood. Actions that hurt people.
TBH? unpopular opnion here: by fact, the party are murders cause they took it upon themselves to kill seymour off in his own temple without considering the consequences (not being able to send him) also tidus as much as I love him, DID gaslight seymour and yuna along with the party never tried to reason with him. yes he comitted a crime, he did evil, sure he speaks about his reasons briefly but nobody extended a "change your ways" type of support to him. they didn't really give a damn about seymour despite fearing him initially. was he really the villian? or was he the guy who was fed up with the cycle and was willing to defeat sin at any costs? yu yevon is a coward and hides but seymour never hid...
I was honestly hoping that Seymour being the bad guy was a bait and switch like we got bad guy music playing the second we see him and Tidus just outright saying he doesn't like him out of nowhere and for no reason at the time. I love him as a character.
may i ask where you happened to find this information? as far as i know this is not mentioned in the game, atleast not in this detail. after knowing his backstory seymour became one of my favorite villains so i would love to know and read more on him :)
So yunalesca didn't make Seymour's mother as the final aeon right? Howd she become an aeon? Otherwise he would've died summoning her, even without battling sin right? or did he actually die sometime before Yuna and Co. actually killed him? That's been on my mind for some time.
Its been confirmed that Anima is indeed Seymour's Final Aeon, he just never used to her against Sin. The Final Summoning itself is not what kills the summoner. Its Yu Yevon possessing the Final Aeon and using it against its summoner that kills them. From what we can see from Seymour's use of Anima, as long as the Final Aeon is not used to destroy Sin, it functions just like any other summon does.
Anyone else think it's interesting his mom turned into an evil looking mummy creature? The first time I saw it, I knew Seymour was a villain. No way a hero casually pulls a mummy demon from hell by a chain.
@@keeganstormblade5456 damn, so Braska's Final Aeon attacks and killed Braska? Zaon to Yunalesca too? Thats tragic I really want a FFX prequel, playing as Jecht. We didnt need X-2
I...I never knew a lot of this...I'm a bit shocked. Too be honest I was never interested in Seymour, since I thought he was one of the more boring villains in the series...was all this ever explained in the game? I think not...I hope not, or I must've been sleeping. What was new to me, was the exile in Temple Baj, but it makes sense of course, given that you find Anima there. What a fan I am :'D
A lot of Seymours backstory is actually revealed when you obtain anima and speak to the fayth of his mother. It really puts together all the bits and pieces of seymours story
I’m playing the mobile game Opera Omnia, and I’m wondering if that’s going to happen. So far his biggest interactions were with Shadow from VI. Shantotto wasn’t terrible impressed with him.
He’s actually a pretty good character if you take the time to discover his backstory. Something not every player does.
Seymour: BY ALL MEANS, TRY!
Seeing him return the first time was a genuine shock. He was dead, but was still pursuing his goals. It was ominous, and unexpected. Afterwards, he just became a nuisance. They should have let him die off after the second encounter
I think him being a nuisance was the point lol
This was so good! Seymour's my favorite character from FFX and I love him so much! Always happy to see more Seymour content on RUclips
Seymour was a very well created antagonist imo. He is my favorite FF antagonist so far

Appreciate this page. I replay ffx every few years
It's a great game.

But remember, Seymour murdered his own father.

Except Yuna does exactly that after she recruits Anima. 😂

I would love see Seymour meet Kefka
That would be sick :o

they watch but never comment unless someone else does!
Lol it’s fine. Once I get more videos similar to this out the conversations will begin
If you think about it he is another form of sin formed by the evil of others over time.
