I know you guys are gonna continue to discuss about this scandal and I was wondering if you can also mention about Jang Ja Yeon’s case (actress of Boys of Flowers who alleged committed suicide) that is being reinvestigated after 10 years. And how she has listed about 31 men (journalists, ceos, basically people in power) who sexually harassed and abused her in her written documents. I feel like you guys have the platform to reach a broader audience and I really hope people learn more about this. And they will find justice for this case.

Your post about Jang Ja Yeon is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. If you notice how the news of Seungri/Burning Sun and Jung Joon keep coming up and being covered, and how Jang JY case is being shielded due to Seungri's news, this is an old trick how Korea handles major serious news. Entertainers like Seungri and Jung are actually being used to cover up the serious news related to the people of power in Korea(politicians, business ceo's, etc). Entertainers' crimes always seemed to break major when Korea's trying to cover up the BIG important news. Such thing had happen 10 yrs ago with Jang Ja Yeon case, when G-Dragon and other entertainers were being prosecuted in public with the news of the drug scandal, and now how Seungri and other entertainers are being prosecuted right now. Seungri/Burning Sun case is important, but the most serious news is not being covered much as it should, which is Jang Ja Yeon case. THIS IS VERY SERIOUS, when she was supposedly expired from suicide, when it was not. Korea needs to find those involved in her murder, and it can be difficult when they're in the position of power. It's actually scary, when you're trying to fit all the puzzles.

What pisses me off too is when I see fans say “Stop bringing this up it’s been really hard for the VIPS.” ...... I’m sure it’s been much harder for the victims over the past 4+ years.
This whole situation is exactly why I try to never idolize people. I can be a fan but I always remind myself that these people (which of course a lot of celebrities put up a facade for the cameras and public but that’s not what I’m talking about) can be someone different behind the cameras.
I remember going over the OJ Simpson case in my forensics class and watching all of these fans blindly supporting OJ when he was running from police and cheering for him and I was disgusted. I new it wasn’t good to blindly believe rumors but I truly realized that it wasn’t good to blindly support someone. OJ was a suspect in his wife’s murder and these people were cheering for him.
That’s why now I wait for the results of an investigation or release of evidence.
Because it’s never good to throw hate at someone for something unconfirmed but it’s also not good to faithfully stand by their side, especially when there are possible victims involved. The accused has family and friends for that and the best thing is to wait for the truth to come out.

For non Koreans, we generally wait for evidence before we condemn people. We like to say "innocent until proven guilty" I know that isn't true in Korea which tends to jump to conclusions and condemn people based on rumor. That being said, initially I supported Seungri because nothing had yet confirmed that there was solid evidence of his guilt. However, apparently that has changed and I am coming to see that he was part of a sicker ring and culture of rape in the entertainment industry. So now you can be happy that you were right to assume based on no evidence at the time that he was guilty. I take no joy in this entire matter and am disappointed beyond belief that rumor has turned into fact. I however will still wait for arrest and trial before I abandon hope that there is something worth saving in Seungri.

Seriously?!? Treating someone THAT badly about getting her own ADHD medication? Does Korea not know what ADHD is? btw, ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder) and ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) are often used for the same issue. I believe the technical term is ADD since it comes in forms that are not hyperactive and instead just distracted.
(For this example "normal" is used to describe people who do not have ADHD/ADD and not to belittle them in any way as it is often a genetically passed issue that is out of their control and it is NEVER their "fault") To oversimplify it, it is a brain imbalance of chemicals that can cause you to have issues with being distracted easily that are beyond your control. The two main kinds show up as being over energetic and not being able to sit still OR appearing normal but being distracted by every little thing. It is treated by giving a person stimulates (most common form is caffeine which will calm a person with ADHD down a little or make them sleepy) which unfortunately can contain an amount of the base form of medical meth (it is related but NOT the same). Some ADHD medications will work on people with ADHD but either not work on normal people or make them act like they now HAVE ADHD. Adderall became quite well known for this in the past and was sometimes used a a recreational drug. However, that was in the past much more than now. Doctors have been reducing this effect and coming up with new medications without those side effects at a very quick pace over the past few years. For instance, I was told my medication (Adderall which Park Bom is getting in trouble for) would either help me if ADHD was present or not effect me at all if I were normal.
Myself and my two sons have it in various forms and extremes. My oldest son would sometimes come home crying because he was often punished with things like yelling and no recess time with the other kids because he couldn't sit still and often didn't finish his homework on time. Even with medication, effort is required to do things that normal people find easy to accomplish. Without medication, it can be nearly impossible to do some tasks.
It seems to me that Korean officials are not educated about the ADHD and its medical advancements. It is a very common disorder to have so I hope they educate themselves quickl;y instead of stigmatizing people with ADHD.

Korean officials acknowledge ADHD and it is legal to get treatment and medication, just not adderall, and especially not without going through the legal procedure of importing drugs. Just thought I'd clear things up so people don't think Korea has no ADHD meds.
Korea is not the only country to be strict about adderall, Norway for example is too. Ritalin is still common in Korea, and there are other meds too. She made a mistake and the authorities need to treat it as they would any other drug related case. That however doesn't give people the right to label her as a drug abuser. I don't know how many people are holding this against her, but it's sad anyways, since she obviously didn't have any ill intentions. She doesn't deserve to be hated for such a tiny mistake.

I think to be honest I think the women who were prostitutes in this situation were probably horribly treated. A lot of these men in the club were from out of the country so they had no fear about acting out any of their destructive fantasies. They could have been raped and abused during these interactions. It is very easy to put women at a lower level than other women because of their choice of job but they need to receive equal protection. I have heard online in videos etc. that prostitutes are used by quite a few married Korean men and they don't view it as cheating. Korea has problem with women over 50 living in poverty who have resorted to prostitution because there is not adequate social services.

To give you guys further insite on this case, since most are stuck with 2019 evidences. Seungri was never a part of the M*lka groupchat, which was the groupchat that had r*pe and other stuff posted on. It has been proven with legal documents. The only groupchat that Seungri was a part of was the business groupchat. Another thing to be mindful off is reporters have ADMITTED on editing the kakao chat rooms. Lee was never Seungri, LEE was LEE JONGHYUN. Another thing be mindful of is Seungri offered to do a lie detector exam (I know it is not always accurate, but still.) Which the police DENIED. Alot of his allegations from prostitions have also been faulty. The only charge that everyone is sure of as of now is embezzlement from gambling. To read further and have more insights on the false allegations celeb news posted about him, please go to poutyvip5lines on twitter. The pinned tweet, is a very resourceful thread. It includes all news from Naver or other Actual News sites from Korea. As well as documents from court. (Which includes, people saying Seungri was not part of this.
