    Some info about Huckebeins:
    Sunrise probably did not like that the Huckebein looked so much like the Gundams so in the game 2nd SRW OG they decided to destroy all existing Huckebeins. After that Huckebein line got replaced with Exbein line. That is until in SRW V Huckebein got brought back as a pre-order bonus unit.

    For In-Game (Classic SRW) explanation regarding why Huckebein looks similar to a Gundam, when Huckebein first debuted on Super Robot Wars 4 story, it was initially developed by the Titans. But the Development is terminated because of Budget problem. Then Banjo Haran (The Super Rich guy, the Pilot of Daitarn 3) bought the entire project and secretly continue building it, but using other technology since the guy has no access to the Feddies/Titans database. That's why Huckebein has very Titan-ish Color and looks like a Gundam on the outside, but totally different technology on the inside.
    For Real-Life explanation... It's just a tribute/homage to the Gundam series, just like Grungust is a big tribute/homage to the Mazinger series (Boost Knuckle and Final Beam is an obvious Rocket Punch and Breast Fire ripoff) because back then, Gundam is the face of 'real robot' series and Mazinger is the face of 'Super Robot' series. Both Huckebein and Grungust was initially planned to be 'one time only' thing, but they became so popular that Banpresto keep making them reappear on subsequent game and got more variant/upgrade

      @@arx3516 Earth is under attack by Alien called Aerogather (Later will be known as Balmar Empire), however the current "Earth Army" at that time, Titans, is not interested in fighting them and instead use their might to oppress people and solidify their influence on Earth. So Banjo thought that it's a big waste to let a wonderful weapon (the Huckebein) in their hand, so he bought the entire project, and find the suitable pilot for it.
      Also to add more context, why Banjo didn't use Huckebein himself or why he didn't join the battle early on the series using his Daitarn, it's because Banjo in the Alpha series is the Banjo after the ending of the Daitarn Anime, in which, everyone already left him after what he did in the series finale. So he just a lonely guy with a lot of money, and he kinda hesitate to go on to the battlefield himself (That's why he joined the party way later despite introduced rather early on the game),

      @@arx3516 Basically, at the end of the series, the Enemy leader is dead, the battle is pretty much already won, and the remaining enemy declared surrender and wish to leave in peace, but Banjo, consumed by hatred and revenge, is having none of that and decided to go genocide route and killed every single one of those Aliens, even the pacifist that tried to broker peace between earth and them from the very beginning. All of Banjo's allies were horrified and disgusted by that action. So, all of his allies, the kid that used to look up to Banjo so much, and the girls that was madly in love with him, decided to leave him without saying anything, and the biggest kicker is, even the Butler, the one that is like a father figure to him, also leave him, with the final scene showing Banjo's mansion, that used to be bright and merry, now dark and gloomy with only one room still has it's light on, signifying that Banjo is all alone now.

    For the Gravity Impact Cannon, most of us wouldn't notice this for decades since the Huckebein were just SD sprites in the game. We wouldn't see the placement of the G-Impact Cannon with the crotch until decades later when the Huckebeins are finally seen on non-SD sprites and arts outside of the concept art.

    Just a bit of Huck trivia, there were 3 units rolled out for Mass Production tests, the first wound up being piloted by Bullet during the Divine War (The battle against the Divine Crusaders) and the L5 Conflict (The battle against the Aerogaters), the 2nd was used by the colonies to try to trap the Hiryu Kai but was wrecked by them and overhauled into the Huckebein MK-II Trombe piloted by Elzam Branstein when he joined up with the rest of the EFA during the final battle against Levi Tolar and her Judecca,
    the unit 3 was fielded by Shizuki Shizukawa (Who was made for OG but debuted in X-Omega as the pilot of the Huckebein 00R), during the beginning of the Sealing Wars all the Huckebein save for the MK-II Unit 3 would be destroyed by Almara Burton and her Galilnagant,
    the Unit 3 was a special case as by that point it had been overhauled with a new GraviCon system used by the MK-III and a Tesla Drive allowing Shizuki to surprise Almara with the use of 2 Graviton Rifles (Other equipment used by the MK-III) but the unit was still damaged badly by the Galilnagant's Axion Asher but was still reparable.

    Fun fact: In the Huckebein Mk-II's first appearance in SRW Alpha, it is a machine developed at the same time as the Gundam Mk-II and the Real Robot route has you fighting off a team of Titans trying to steal it, only for the protagonist to end up siding with the AEUG and helping them steal the Gundam Mk-II instead.
    The "G" in G-Impact Cannon stands for "Gravity", this is because the Huckebein Mk-II comes equipped with the Gravicon System as opposed to the Huckebein Mk-I's Black Hole Engine. The Gravicon System allows the Mk-II to also make use of the Gravity Wall defensive barrier. This is also why the G-Impact Cannon docks into the Mk-II's crotch.
    The Huckebein and most Real-type mecha in the SRW games are called "Personal Troopers", not Mobile Suits.

    This is a fantastic kit. My favorite of the year so far.
    Although some aspects rub me the wrong way and it feels like it was designed by the interns team.
    Namely, some gates are just atrocious. For the most part, the final result is fairly nub mark free, but some gates are placed so poorly, the nubs are just staring right at you, like on top of the backpack sections. And gates are so thick to boot, It feels like Bandai could cut down 10% of material cost just by making the gates thinner.
    Hands options could've been much better. I know, having the whole pair of open hands is already above what most HG kits have, but after seeing what Gespenst came equipped with, I did expect something along that line. Especially considering the price. Oh well, not the end of the world.
    Additionally the backpack feels kinda primitive compared to Kotobukiya's 20 year old Huckebein kit. That one had a cool opening gimmick with deployable thrusters. But I'm not sure, maybe Mk-II specifically isn't supposed to have that to begin with.
    Anyway, as I said, overall a fantastic kit.
    Now when we've got Alteisen and Hucky Mk-II, fingers crossed we'll get Weissritter soon to round up the core ATX team.

    The fact that Bandai released the MkII before the original Huckebein makes me worry that they'll release that one as P-Bandai and make it basically impossible to get outside of those countries that have it. That, and/or they'll make the Huckebein 30 and 30th as P-Bandai as well since they're basically the same thing as the MkII with extra details and parts

    • @miragebangbravern
      @miragebangbravern Год назад +1

      Would doubt honestly, regular Huckebein is like the RX-78 series of Huckebeins that it is not likely that it will be P-Bandai

      I kinda doubt bandai will make a Huckebein MK1, I wish they make one tho.
      And before that, they need to milk the MK2 mold, like Trombe color and possibly mass production MK2 based on the segmented runners design

  • @onepieceswat
    @onepieceswat Год назад +1

    G-Impact Cannon (Gインパクト・キャノン)
    Short for Gravity Impact Cannon (not Gundam Impact Cannon). A large external cannon deployed to the pilot at their request which acts as a substitute for the Huckebein's Black Hole Cannon. It fires a gravitational barrier generated by the Gravicon System, which crushes the enemy to smithereens upon impact. When firing, the Cannon is connected to the Mk-II's crotch section, which is where the Gravicon System is located.
    And Huckebein is pronounced like Huck-Q-Bine... I mean I couldn't feel at ease hearing you pronounce it as hyuck-bine 😅
    Also SRW prefers these original mechs to be known as personal troopers but Huckebein resembles quite close to a GUNDAM indeed, yet it is not one but exists in a game with Gundams, super robots like Mazinger, Arms Slaves like Arbalest and so on.

      It's kit from an IP that already established without Bamco's involvement, unlike Gundam franchise that already owned by Banmco and Sunrise. You'll see Bandai's kit from IP other than Gundam tend to have "higher" price than gunpla i.e Star Wars. Also this kit is retail not P-Bandai.
