- Despite Bret's serious health problems, there were moments during his second WWF/E act where it looked like old times. Most of the real work was done opposite Heath Slater, whom Bret appears to have trusted.
This work, made in tribute to Bret "The Hitman" Hart, uses brief clips from WWE (less than 8 seconds), and no audio of theirs. The video meets fair use standards.
Man he was still able to lift those dudes like they weighed nothing - absolutely incredible performer wow!
He moved like the Tin Man but you could tell why he was so good for so long. He relied on technique, timing, psychology and skill.
Bret Hart winning the United States Championship in 2010 was probably the biggest highlight of this comeback story.
He deserved to be wwe champ again but dirty politics
He did some killer stuff in those nontelevised clips, it's a shame we didn't get that on the main shows.
Bret looked really solid here, especially since his stroke messed him up bad.
The MSG stuff looked fantastic - it's a shame that it never got a full release even in bootleg form.
Glad this video exists, thank you
Msg looked great... That's our vintage Bret hart there... Wow
I was there at the Madison square garden smack down tour event. It was awesome seeing Bret live. I still have footage from that match against the nexus.
Impressive for this age and condition. Dont forget the Bachelor of health literacy!!!
As long he does the sharpshooter I'm happy
I remember at the time being a 9-10 year old wondering who is this old man having these below par matches, now I’m 22 and I understand the story and the aura of bret hart it’s actually quite solid the work he managed to produce.
Oooh don't let Lloyds of London see that headbutt.
Bret hart is the best
there is
@@mariomanningfan Best There Was
Best there ever will be
I'm definitely glad that I got to watch Bret Hart wrestle in that stage of his career even though he couldn't really take any bumps at all due to the concussion that ended his career & the stroke that he got in the early 2000s. Either way, seeing Bret Hart back in WWE while I'm in my preteens is just bringing back that 12 year old me again.
This was solid proof that the greatest professional wrestler in the world was still inside that post-stroke body. If he were 100%, both HBK vs. Taker matches at Mania would be indy level trash compared to ONE of Bret's regular Raw matches against ANYONE on the roster. That's how great he was.
Dude, no. Bret was great but you don't need to exaggerate and slag him off. Undertaker was a great wrestler and Shawn was one of the GOAT's as well, probably equal to Bret in the ring. Their matches were amazing and stand up to anything Bret ever did
chill. both things can exist together but to call hbk vs taker (either one) indy trash😂😂😂😂 gtfoh
@@purestformofpeace exactly like why can’t we respect one while honoring the other still lmaoo
@@purestformofpeaceBret was a better in ring performer than HBK, even Shawn himself admitted.
Keep in mind this is a 54-year-old man who couldn't walk, talk or feed himself from a stroke post-retirement because of vicious concussion symptoms. Bret Hart is one tough s.o.b. from old prairie stock. Definitely Stu Hart's kid.
Legend forever
I'll always have mad respect for Heath Slater for how much he sold and bumped for Bret that year. And almost 10 years later he would be the first to rush to the ring and check up on Bret when he was attacked at the HoF.
A great guy all around.
When Bret does the inverted atomic on Heath at Summerslam, you can see that he's got his singlet top on underneath his shirt. Nice little touch
Never understood why they didnt do like a tag match or a six man tag at wrestlemania. He was absolutly capable of doing some solid stuff with somebody who could work a little as well. Even shawn michales a few years prior could not make vince mcmahon look good in a match so how could bret hart with all his health issues.
I thought he was too concussed to do any head buts or too rope moves.. man he was doing great in those clips!
Lloyds of London was on his case the entire time about not doing anything physical. He was more relaxed at house shows because they weren't watching!
Those house show matches he did proved he can still work, Lloyd's of London was preventing him tho.
The Miz face when in the Sharpshooter lol 🤣🤣🤣
you know what for someone who legally couldnt take bumps he still had some cool moves to make a match look good!
The best there is was and ever will be ❤
Still got it.
the excellence of execution
Bret looked really good all things considered
great vid but idk if anyone has asked this but did Bret ever say why he didn't wear his ring attire???
bc he would look horrble in it now
Music name?
I wonder if he could have had a match if he wore protective headgear?
Sucks he didn't get more years of great bret hart in his prime. 1997 is hard to watch.
