- Hi everyone! Today's video is SFF Spotlight Episode 65! This series of videos is to spotlight three main things (Special Editions, Cover Reveals, and Book/Series Announcement) in the science fiction and fantasy genre within a certain set of time. And yes, the videos will cover both traditionally published and self-published SFF books.

Curious Kings does incredible editions, outrageously expensive; definitely out of my league but worth ogling at! Sun Eater's art has been so far stunning! I didn't know Mike Shel, but now I definitely need to check his books, that edition is gorgeous and it sounds very interesting! Thanks for sharing, Petrik!
Thank you so much, Livia! That's my thoughts on Curious King, too. They are expensive, and I've been blessed enough to receive 2 of them in exchange for a review, but even if I don't get them I will still be happy with their existence. It's rare to see someone go all the way toward producing a beautiful book that can last a lifetime.

I'm guessing that you'll enjoy Legend when you get to it, Petrik. I loved Piranesi, and I think animation is the logical choice for adapting it. Though I don't watch a lot of shows or movies, I will definitely check out this adaptation. Thank you for my favorite type of news, Petrik!

The Failures were clunky. But great. Clunky great😊 Seriously, at times the book feels like a perfect crossover between Made in Abyss and Nier Automata.
NIER AUTOMATA is such a great comparison for The Failures. I certainly felt that as well!
For Legend, has the dust jacket been revealed yet for the standard edition? I only see the gold foil stamped on the book cover itself.

If Elden Ring gets a movie then I want to see Godwyn. Him not being in the DLC is already criminal.

Hi Petrik, were you ever a fan of Lev Grossmans work, i.e The Magicians. After clicking on your Amazon link you gave for The Failures, under "Customers who bought this item also bought" section I saw a new book of his called The Bright Sword which I was totally unaware of. Coming out July 16th. Very excited for that as well 🙂
Unfortunately, I tried Magician a long time ago, and I did not click the writing. The Bright Swords seems interesting, though, because I'm a fan of Arthurian retelling! :)

I’m on Wandering Inn book 9 finally, and I have to say Petrik it’s worth it. It’s very quick reads but still well worth the investment

@@PetrikLeo the prose is very accessible and I find it quick to read in that way it’s not like a Malazan kind of prose where it’s dense and you have to really consider what is happening.

i though i saw somewhere that omniscient reader's viewpoint was getting a live action? idk if it's confirmed or anything, but anime adaptation would be better imo (not 100% on this tho since i didn't watch solo leveling and have no basis on whether manhwa/korean webnovel to anime is good). the first part of ORV would be doable as a live action but i don't know about the latter parts...
Yep, there is a live action in the production. We will see how good it is, but I don't have high hopes
I won't have high hopes on the live action adaptation of Omniscient tbh. 😅 It's all out cast, but the story is impossible to adapt into live action!
Would love to own a special edition of Legend, but 200 pounds for even the Standard Edition is just waaay beyond my budget lol. Sucks to be poor.

Everybody LOVES Suneater, but I thought that book 1 was an absolute slog.. Hadrian was thoroughly unlikeable and a whiner.. It gives me pause to continue.. It took forever to get through Empire
