    Very nice. I am not surprised that they are charging £10-20k a night for a suite like that. FTSE100 companies will happily pay that to impress someone.

      I agree but I think those companies have corporate accounts and probably get it for around $5K a night.

    Kitchen the same size as the powder room! I'm guessing the high rollers are more interested in powder than food..

      Those guests aren't cooking anything! Sometimes they will have a hotel chef / kitchen people use it to prepare and serve meals and serve room service too.

    That is the biggest bed I've ever seen! Killer views, that's for sure. My rental house in Fulham was cozy and even had a garden, although it was in the flight path of Heathrow. You could practically reach up and touch those jumbo jets flying overhead--lol. (Didn't hear the planes when inside the house.) Thanks for giving us the VIP experience, Fred.

      Thank you! We drove through Fulham on the way in from Heathrow. I had a friend who lived in Chiswick, I used to stay with him.
      I had those huge beds in London and Paris and like at home, I barely used a little corner of it!

      FIrst, the hiehgt, no other hotel in London offers those views. Second, the space, it's enormous, yet just one bedroom, very luxurious. Third it's the Shangri-La, which offers five-star, luxury service and amenities with an Asian touch. Fourth, it's in the heart of London, on top (almost) of a Tube stop and an easy walk from everything you want to see!

    That is horrendously overpriced for a 1 bedroom suite without a view from the bathroom. Practically a comedy. The only impressive feature is the dining table which will almost never see any use.
    Might as well ask to rent the Shard's actual penthouse for a night for that money - no one will ever buy it after all

      I see you know about the Shard's secret (never used) apartments! I visited one in 2014 a few years after the building opened when they still had plans to sell them.
      They're still all there, owned by the Qatari royal family and still never been used!

      @@FreddySherman maybe they're used as pied-a-terres for Qatari friends and acquaintances. Depends if any of them are furnished and to what level, "show home" or well beyond.
      What did you think of them yourself?

    • @FreddySherman
      @FreddySherman  6 месяцев назад

      No, they have never, ever been sold, offered for sale or even lived in, from what I was told by hotel management. At the time they were nice, luxurious and modern with decor very similar to the hotel suites. But by now, 10+ years later, it's probably a bit dated. They are still cleaned and maintained in a ready-to-live-in status. @@visionist7

      You need more than that! I can't get my head around a suite that costs as much as a car for one night. I think you need billions and billions for that price not to matter.

    Price ?

    • @FreddySherman
      @FreddySherman  Год назад +4

      It depends on the season, the night of the week and how full the hotel is. Average price is about $15,000 per night. If you wanted to stay mid-week in February, maybe it would be $10K. If you want to stay Christmas Eve, it might be $20K.
