The A button is a flat plane in 3D space, and the wii likely processes objects in tri's (triangles) instead of quads (squares). This means you can't have just a flat square with an A button, it's actually two triangles stitched together to make a square. The corruptor just had to move one point and the A button goes from a flat plane to a bent one.
