Love a beautiful well built AK, but I'm also broke so it looks like about $600 to $700 (minus the optic) of furniture on about $800 base AK. When you could buy or build a mid to upper tier AR depending where you look or even a higher caliber AR10. Still a beautiful rifle though.
@TacticalAdvisor yo my dawg, if you like the look of AK’s wit the cleaning rod you can still do it. I had the same furniture on my AK47. It’ll be useless at that point but it gives you the AK look with the rod.. I love it! Much love 🫡

Hey,they're great. Owned mak90s, romaks, even a pre89 polytech. It was a blast when it was really cheap to shoot them, but they are hungry beasts. No. Unless you’re in a country that uses it as it’s main service weapon in which case - you can end up with a bunch of unique issues depending on how much you had to chop up your gun to get those aesthetically pleasing parts to fit onto it The bottom line is: Any weapon is only as good as it’s supply chain and in the US - 223 far out produces 762x39 There are more loads available off the shelf in any store in the country of one caliber than the other Even in mildly inclement times where you might actually need to use that rifle - ammo dries up quickly and when your ammo pool is small to begin with it’s not an advantage Keep in mind also- There’s a reason the Russians stopped using 762x39 in the 70s and went with 545 Also, there are now more modern competitive options that do the job better 300 blackout supersonic is a superior short range caliber, as is 9x39 (which again replaced the caliber for the Russians use instead of 762x35 / 300 BLK)
I dont know if its better but the ak tr3 will be definitely my next rifle. The fact that i have then an ar15 made in usa and an ak made in russia in my safe feels like god mode

Nice rifle but at the same time i have more questions than answers & no experience with 1. What i do know is they aint cheap & parts are pricey as well as the ammo & im sure that they ain't very light either but it would compliment my arsenal nicely
both have strengths and weaknesses, choose whatever you're comfortable with
I have to go with the-M-4 ( Ar-15 are nice tho )but,I did 4 deployments to Iraq ( also did 2 tours back-to-back ) with infantry units and we all had M-4s ( we didn't use any optics either, used iron sights with anyone at 300 meters, anyone over 300 meters,we used our optics ) the insurgents in Iraq were very GOOD guerrilla fighters and very tough, but,we used tactics they weren't used to tho. Stuff we made-up on the fly and it was &&&&&&& them-up.
Love a beautiful well built AK, but I'm also broke so it looks like about $600 to $700 (minus the optic) of furniture on about $800 base AK. When you could buy or build a mid to upper tier AR depending where you look or even a higher caliber AR10. Still a beautiful rifle though.
As an AK guy, just yes 😂
@TacticalAdvisor yo my dawg, if you like the look of AK’s wit the cleaning rod you can still do it. I had the same furniture on my AK47. I know with the Midwest hand guard it doesn’t allow you to keep the cleaning rod. What I did was stick it in and marked the difference with a sharpie, then I cut off the extra & then re inserted the rod and it fit snug, don’t cut off too much cut little by little until it’s to your liking. It’ll be useless at that point but it gives you the AK look with the rod.. I love it! Much love 🫡
If you want pics, give me an email I’ll send em to show you how mine came out.
We need your Ak collection video I saw you had at least 3. Go over build lists would be a good video!
Midwest industries alpha set make it look clean. Asking what’s the base AK you using?
Gorgeous i had many ARs and have since gotten rid of them all and im strickly AKs now
Looks impressive, what brand?😊
You make a strong case, but Eugene Stoners design is the greatest of all time.
Is that a custom build or do they sell them like that?
I like not needing a buffer tube. And it's more reliable than an AR
That Midwest industry alpha furniture is a must check out my build
If better means heavier, then yes definitely
Not sure if either one is better than the other, but I sure do like both of them
Any AK is better than an AR-15.
Lol. Weird ergonomics, almost never last round bolt hold open, floppy noodle non-free float barrel, almost no factory rail space. Gimme a break. ARs are superior to AKs in almost every way. Oh, AKs suppress weird too due to the piston.
@@markdavidson1049 Someone’s butthurt
If you’re a commie
Nah
Yeah right. The first AK-47’s made in 1951 is somehow better than the M4A1. Pathetic fudd lore. You know nothing about guns.
Hey,they're great. Owned mak90s, romaks, even a pre89 polytech. It was a blast when it was really cheap to shoot them, but they are hungry beasts. The only one that really shot better than any of the others was a heavy barrel Match model, otherwise they were all the same, regardless of the furniture they were wearing.
You can polish a turd but in the end of the day it's still a turd, its just a polished turd
Except AKs are not turds so....
What and where did you get the side irons for this build??
I’m not an AK guy but that’s a sweet setup. Wouldn’t mind seeing a video on this rig. Maybe a little shot testing
Great looking rifle! Don’t know the quality of the parts but if they’re as good as they look then I’d make one!!
I wish MI hand guards allowed you to keep the cleaning rod. They look awesome
KYPK handguards are really nice sometimes light fitting but then they are on tight. I used the short model on my wbp and a beryl stock. Love that stock it's bullet proof.
Beautiful rifle, hope you're out there training with it.
less malfunctions means less magchanges to clear malfuctions, so i guess the harder mag changes dont matter, but im so used to ar controls
Well... im alone in this argument, but I'll stick with my m16a1 😂
I like both AK‘s and AR‘s so depends on what you doin with it, for hunting imma go with tha AK
Probably cause all I have is a lower right now. But my ak has been very kind to me. Twas my first gun at 18 and I didn’t even know what it was until after I bought it. I just wanted a rifle that was semi auto and magazine fed and I paid $350 for a Saiga. It’s still my favorite gun 10 years later.
Definitely better than some of the Bear Creek Arsenal ones I've seen...
I had a few of each and alway liked the ak much better for what I wanted.
Looks like a counter weight on a crane
I hope you tealize your front and rear magpuls are not on the same plane. Sure you prob can adjust them but just sayin😂
As long as it doesn’t jam
Love the kitchen vibe
get that "negligent discharge marble" aesthetic going i say
No. Unless you’re in a country that uses it as it’s main service weapon in which case - you can end up with a bunch of unique issues depending on how much you had to chop up your gun to get those aesthetically pleasing parts to fit onto it
The bottom line is:
Any weapon is only as good as it’s supply chain and in the US - 223 far out produces 762x39
There are more loads available off the shelf in any store in the country of one caliber than the other
Even in mildly inclement times where you might actually need to use that rifle - ammo dries up quickly and when your ammo pool is small to begin with it’s not an advantage
Keep in mind also-
There’s a reason the Russians stopped using 762x39 in the 70s and went with 545
Also, there are now more modern competitive options that do the job better
300 blackout supersonic is a superior short range caliber, as is 9x39 (which again replaced the caliber for the Russians use instead of 762x35 / 300 BLK)
Very nice ! I love both platforms !
Looks great, I’m sure works great also.
Only downside would be the weight of it.
Define better? because really its about how the weapon works for you, how well do you shoot it, not just a price tag.
As an AK guy this is absolutely beautiful
That looks pretty nice, I like the build. Cantered irons aren't a bad idea either.
I dont know if its better but the ak tr3 will be definitely my next rifle. The fact that i have then an ar15 made in usa and an ak made in russia in my safe feels like god mode
I'm not a AK fan but that mug is beautiful!
i can’t believe the AK was the bay harbor butcher
I use to be a Ar guy but since in the last 10 years people begun modernizing Ak, Im a Ak guy
