I really like how Senjumaru's Bankai manifested fire as the thing that seals Jugram's fate. It was fire that killed his uncle and thus tied him to both Bazz and Yhwach.
And, it was him deciding to kill Bazz, who emboides fire, that ended up sealing his fate as being killed by Yhwach as a sacrificial pawn. Which it is implied that he saw when he had the Almighty.
Really adds to the tragic nature of Jugram that his whole life he was tormented by his guilt of abandoning his friend, symbolised by him being consumed by fire, much like how Bazz's family was.

@@jrgenvellesen7800 Yes. In the end it was all for the better especially since the survivors are adjusting quite well to life in the human world. It was his ultimate redemption even if the concept is rather sparse. Ichigo and Uryu becoming ultimate friends in the postwar era is it's own gold legacy. Peace has settled hell's incursion notwithstanding.

@@manuelacosta9463 Jugram is such an interesting quincy in that him being basically a reverse quincy is a part of every aspect of him. His power "The Balance" is somewhat eyebrow raising for a quincy, seeing as their sworn enemies are the Shinigami, the balancers (also funny the guy who said this was cut down by Jugram). Despite being Yhwach's most loyal follower, everything about his being screams against what the quincy believe and stand for, which is even more tragic with the hindsight that he knew losing the war was the only way to ensure the survival of his people.

Senjumaru was a major surprise while the battle as a whole was an epic closing to this cour. It is consistent though. The human world is too fragile for the captains and lieutenants not to hold back. • @daerieungaming

This is my interpretation of Senjumaru's Bankai:
FIRST, (1) It shows what specific action/event they did in the past and will do in the future that will lead to their eventual death/demise. And then, (2) it foresees how each Schutzstaffel best effectively dies or is weakened in the future. A complete foresight of each Schutzstaffel's fates based on the best possible outcomes in the future and based from their past and future actions (Something that Ywhach, despite his Almighty's ability to foresee every possible Future Outcome, is unable to change which will lead him to use Auswählen anyway.)
SECOND, her Bankai predetermines the best time/event for each Schutzstaffel's death/demise, something that seems to assign the events in the best possible time along with the best match-ups to come against the Captain-level Shinigamis they're going to face. (Still going with the idea as Senjumaru being the Great Weaver, weaving everyone's fates in her favor.)
AND LASTLY, Senjumaru ensures that their fates are sealed and that whatever foresight generated and 'tapestries'/'hanks' she already weaved cannot be reversed or changed in the future. (This I think fixes the reason why Overpowered Schutzstaffels will lose to Captain Rank Shinigamis, even with Ywhach's influence). This also makes sure that when the Schutzstaffel loses in cour 3, it won't seem like it's Plot armor and instead would look like an omnipotent force of ensured Fate as weaved by Senjumaru (sticking to the idea that the Squad Zero is indeed capable of this feat).
So it's just her 1. Designing the fates and pulling the suitable threads to use. 2. Weaving everyone's threads of fates together to her liking. and 3. Her cutting the thread and finalizing the hanks/cloths of interweaved fates.
Which means that even if she won't kill the Schutzstaffel now, doesn't mean she didn't influence the outcome of their future.
In relation to the Cour 3 Trailer with Uryu being her final opponent, (and assuming I guessed Senjumaru's Bankai correctly) it could be that he activates Antithesis to reverse the effects of her Bankai and turn it against her, weaving her most fitting death at the most fitting time while sealing it permanently. This should turn the tides and be a great plot progression as to how Senjumaru/Squad Zero is defeated by Uryu and then, simultaneously during Ichibe's and Ywhach's battle, Ywhach awakens the Almighty and revives the defeated Schutzstaffels. (Yeah call me crazy with all these speculations 😂)
But you know, it's just my interpretation. I'm just excited to watch what will happen to Cour 3. Who knows, she might explain her Bankai too just like the other Captains. 😅

      Okay so
      I love your theory
      And I wish to expand
I think there is mythological basis for it
The "thread of life" is a fairly common
And she either "reads" their predetermined death and brings it forward, or she weaves it herself with their thread of life
      However
      If this is all true
      What
      The
      Hell
      About
      Uryu
      "Star of the Dark Night
      Absorbed by it's abyss
      And led into the afterlife"
Could this be interpreted as Uryu dying within a hypothetical hell arc? It feels a little reachy, but hell is, from what we've seen, very "dark night, black abyssy" and is 'the afterlife'
And her other predictions are pretty spot on, if you're willing to do a bit of whimsical and metaphorical interpretation.

I mean, you're not wrong...but it's literally just a panel for panel retread of the manga, which feels a little stale when you compare it to what the other 4 are doing. They really could've shown off more. These are 2 beings supposedly stronger than all their respective subordinates combined, and after the glow up it doesn't feel like it either way (especially on Ywach's end, but it felt more like Ichibei was only slightly stronger than the others). I really hope they extend the fight afterward, though. The post-reveal fight was so painfully short, and it left things on such an anticlimactic note. I want to see what Ichibei really looks like when he's pushed to the limits required to STEAL 100 DAYS from the future of the soul society. There's no way he's out of tricks if his "overwrite opponent's name" move isn't on the table.

Remember pre- Almighty, this wasnt a fight, ichibei was just too strong for Yuha, it was like a god fighting an ant and l think the manga made that clear. It was a miss-match, Ywatch could do nothing at all. There powers were night and day. And l think again the anime simply replicating the manga was on point. What l hope happens is they expand on Ichibei's defeat after Ywatch gets almighty, perhaps thats when ichibei should show abit more of his abilities before they inevitably prove inadequate leading to his demise.

It wouldn't make sense for it to be bombastic ala Yamamoto fight which was like fighting with a Nuke. If you stop 2 seconds to analyze what Ichibe abilities do it is obvious he's still stronger than anyone else but in a differentmanner than just having a higher reiatsu.
Also Yhwach while is an obvious big deal it still doesn't really mean much for someone like Ichibe who has been in the universe since its day 0. Even after his defeat we can see he handles it matter of factly. It is why I love Ichibe character and Im glad they didnt turn him into some berseker for the sake of having "better" action.
Also the fight is not done and it is very obvious that it didn't end where they wanted. It goes without saying that the staff didn't want almost 10 minutes of Kon to end the cour but shit happens. Episode 1 of cour 3 will likely continue it.

Thank you! Yes, I must say I was rather confused about her Bankai you really cleared a lot of things up for me as crazy as it is. I mean, THIS WOMAN’S BANKAI LITERALLY PLACES YOU in her very own dimension with a giant golden loom that releases roles of large red carpets covering the entire floors and giant cloths of different kinds rolling and falling down from high up just by the looks of it a very large room of carpets, cloth and tapestry is created AND EVERYTHING IS RED AND THIS WOMAN YOU SEE HER WALKING AROUND HER FACE IS IN A BLOOD-SOAKED-RED HUE AS SHE CHANTS THUMP, THUMP; RATTLE, RATTLE. she then unspools the hanks of cloth used to weave together the pocket of space to seal your fate in which i think are filled with so much spiritual power that she is capable of stitching together, foreseeing, foretelling her victims fates and while definitely causing them quick immediate pain and harm while doing it…😀 she appears to use her incredible psychic powers to see people’s deaths by looking a lot farther than what the eye can see to catch a glimpse at her victims inevitable future deaths and make them actually happen who knows how many more spaces or areas she can create with Shigarami No Tsugi, with the powers she has it seems like an endless amount. i mean, imagine if she comes out with the unraveling of a seventh hank calling it the Pit of Burning Lava and then saying… reduced to a melted puddle, you are now one with the Earth or an eight hank calling it the Torrent of Raging Waves and then saying…unable to keep yourself afloat, you are crushed by the currents or something scary like that. ferociously terrifying stuff all in a single Bankai……😬🫣…..😇. Top 3 scariest hanks for me are: Armor of Steel Blades. those unable to bear it’s weight are sealed forever. Freezing Bed Linens. succumb to slumber and never stir again. and, Burning Field… there is no escaping it, until you turn to ash. THIS WOMAN IS TERRIFYING AND SCARES ME just a little.

I think her Zanpakuto can see all possible futures just like Ywach, and can see that Uryu is an ally at the end of the day so he is spared.

Those banners aren't just for aesthetic ls (bankais never have unneccessary factors), and we know that there's a theme regarding Buddhist and Chinese idealogy, as is the case with ichibei. So to think she literally weaves threads of fate would make sense. Notice how jugram is set on fire, a reference to his fated battle with bazz. And notice how they all die in her dimension rooms, the same exact way they later die from their fights. What if this implies even if they lose in the end, that still made such an impact in the tides of the battle, further redeeming them. She allowed for those manners of death maybe, to make sense of certain deaths bypassing opponents abilities? Lot to go off of

Remember when Ulquiorra said hollows were able to trade off for more power or better regeneration and Ulquiorra specialized in high speed regeneration? Even then after being wrecked by full hollow Ichigo he still said that the bodyparts he healed were mostly for show but the organs that were damaged were never coming back. I would have thought that it would be extremely difficult to heal major injuries without a healer like Orihime or Unohana. And there Senjumaru goes stuffing Oetsu with cotton candy in his heart and Oetsu is back to full capacity in seconds. I get that they are Squad Zero but that feels like its missing some explanation or justification.

I guess about the blood oath and the zero division's true power the idea is that if they used their powers simultaneously they would do a lot more than just shake the three worlds, instead do a lot more damage to them - hence why they sealed them away.
I also think it's probably also considered a failsafe, similar to when Yamaji kept Unohana locked away when the Quincy invaded - the idea being that the zero division are so powerful they could eliminate all the enemies standing in their way without their full power (I mean Oetsu does just that single handedly, it's not his fault that they were brought back to life) - but should they not manage, as they are killed - they would each gain more and more power. So if ever the situation arose when 3 out of the 4 were killed, the last surviving person would have access to their full power - and could, as such, still prosper.
I also think the reason this doesn't apply to Ichibei is that his power is inherently linked to the world. He seems to suggest that he has a hand in naming everything, including the name "zanpakuto" and "bankai" this means that his power is in its very essence linked to the whole world. That's why he can freely use it. The other four are not exactly like this, instead after they were imbued with the soul kings power - they became so powerful that they were granted latent abilities and also a big power boost.
Now regarding Senjumaru's bankai - I honestly don't think it's an illusion. I think she's actually entrapped them in cloth, dead or alive - sealing their fates - hence why their fate is now all predetermined. It makes sense that she could "weave the tale" of their defeat, so to speak. I believe Yhwach will free them using the almighty, but such is the power of Senjumaru's bankai that even he cannot unravel the thread of fate.

Those two fights i feel didn't do a good job especially towards yhe ending of them. Would also like more of a involvement of Uryuu, Isshin and Ryuken but hey i wont be too greedy 😅

As a manga reader this was one of my biggest wishes for the adaptation, as well as seeing the OG Gotei (check) and a fixed/ expanded ended (TBD) I have plenty of nitpicks with the TYBW anime but I can say for sure that the expanded material has been a Godsend 🙏🙏😩😩

@@krisjones4051 well, for starters I’m an animator/ aspiring director so I may be biased, but just a smattering of small issues, especially in the art side of things- for every couple of amazing shots theres a shot with stiff animation, characters being off-model, funny compositing/ colouring, or a combination of these issues I think cour 2 lessened the impact of some amazing soundtracks by reusing them in less important scenes
I also feel like th quality of drawings could be higher in quality I suppose, something closer to JJK level drawings (and action sakuga too) as well as the choice to go extremely colourful and shiny- sure it looks amazing in some shots but I woulda preferred something closer to the hell movie opening/ OP13
      Among other nitpicks I guess

I feel like ywach and ichibei are almost past things like swordfighting and cqc in general, i thought it was done well, i dont think the manga did it justice but seeing ywach get turned into black ant....and ichibei calling him the king of ants before using that awesome attack that looks like the buddhas palm technique from kung fu hustle....one of the coldest moments in anime history imo.

    A few things;
This reminds me of the Moirai, or more commonly known as the fates in Greek mythology. They’re three sisters who are the personifications of destiny itself. All of them are often depicted with a thread.
Clotho spins the thread of life
    Lachesis measures the thread
    Atropos cuts the thread
This is really the vibe I get from the bankai here, it seems she’s controlling the thread of Fate itself, and subjugating her enemies to said fate.
Speaking of, is this Kubos way of replacing what happened in the manga? Or will we still see those things happen do you think? It would be a shame to skip such amazing fights, it seems like he’s giving them their ends they met in the manga, but in a different way. Though he could easily add those in as well. I’m not sure how to take this, though the extra stuff added is great.

One thing I still never understood is the difference in approach between the soul reapers and sternritters. Ever since the war began it was clear the sternritters were not only going to kill the enemies but demolish everything while the soul reapers don’t appear to take that approach.

I really can't believe no bleachtuber realized and recognized when Oetsu revives the squad zero... they were all dead. When he calls their name, they all instantly get back up. This is a pretty clear and obvious reference to them being revived when at least one is alive and their names are stated.

My theory is that she is sealing their fates. Insuring that they will lose the next battle they have. So in the next episode they will kinda wake up from their “hypnosis” and we will see the zero squad all dead, bringing us back to how the manga was. That way we think they win the battle, but her power was to insure they lose in the very near future in the ways depicted in her bankai.

As a german native speaker i find it always interesting how the manga team labeled the quincy powers. Although in the shown screenshot the translator labeled Blut Vene with the expand "Aufheben" what means either to lift up something from a lower level with your hand or to end something like a status or a barrier, the original term read as MrTommo said "anhaben". You would use that only in a german full sentence like : "Das kann mir nichts anhaben" which means "that is unable to harm me" or in the meaning to wear something like a clothing.

God. It was so good watching the fight for the royal palace. So many moments where it seemed like squad 0 was done and gonna die, they just defy expectations and they all grab themselves by the boot straps and pickthemaelves back up. Their stamina for combat is unparalleled, and beyond anything we've seen before, and truly, i believed everything until senjumarus bankai was perfection- but once she said those words. Once we learned all of these characters are capable of world shaking power, but are all each individually shackled for the sake of the universe, it really puts into perspective just how powerful these beings are.
And it certainly laid to rest the notion that aizen was ever strong enough to combat the squad zero. One of them, with their full might, was going to shake apart the universe with their power. Aizen aint ever show something like that.

I'm actually glad they cut some of the explanations of these powers. I think there's way too much of that in Bleach. Not stopping to explain in the middle of a fight makes them seem more brutal and visceral.

The reason why the manga fell short is because Shonen Jump was beefing with Kubo, making him end his series a lot sooner than he wanted to. So he couldn’t draw everything he wanted to in that timeframe. That’s why the last fight falls short as well.
