That amazing feeling when you haven’t heard a song in many years but then you hear it again and remember how good it is. My Dad used to play this when I was probably about 6 years old. I’m now 18 and it’s been a joy to find again
I'd totally forgotten this song, this is the best part of youtube... when you jump from song to song and accidentally find something new and great or pump into an old song you've already forgotten.
Whole tone scale is a nice touch in the piano. The ratchet also adds tension and adds to the feeling they are trying to portray, that "something is wrong with this situation." I love this song.
when I was in 8th grade this used to play almost every morning on fuse or some channel that played music videos. Catchiest song I had heard up to that point. 2006-2007 was actually a good year for alternative music
Lyrics Careless in our summer clothes splashing around In the muck and the mire Careless in our summer clothes splashing around In the muck and the mire Fell asleep with stains Cake deep in the knees What a pain Now hang me up to dry You wrung me out Too too too many times Now hang me up to dry I'm pearly like the whites The whites of your eyes All mixed up in the wash Hot water bleeding our colors All mixed up in the wash Hot water bleeding our colors Now hang me up to dry You wrung me out Too too too many times Now hang me up to dry I'm pearly like the white The whites of your eyes Now hang me up to dry You wrung me out Too too too many times Now hang me up to dry I'm pearly like the white The whites of your eyes Now hang me up to dry You wrung me out Too too too many times Now hang me up to dry I'm pearly like the white The whites of your eyes
I saw these guys live during the tour for this album and they were incredible. So much fun. They were so physical and active onstage, you can sort of see it in this video but it was so much more frenetic live.
And here are the lyrics... "Hang Me Up To Dry" Careless in our summer clothes, splashing around in the muck and the mire Careless in our summer clothes, splashing around in the muck and the mire Fell asleep with stains, caked deep in the knees (what a pain) Now hang me up to dry You wrung me out too, too, too many times Now hang me up to dry I'm pearly like the whites wh-whites of your eyes All mixed up in the wash Hot water bleeding our colors All mixed up in the wash Hot water bleeding our colors Now hang me up to dry You wrung me out too, too, too many times Now hang me up to dry I'm pearly like the whites wh-whites of your eyes Now hang me up to dry You wrung me out too, too, too many times Now hang me up to dry I'm pearly like the whites wh-whites of your eyes
I was obsessed with their Robbers & Cowards album in 2008. Truly beautiful. Crazy how I had never seen the video until now - ten years later!! WTF. It's amazing! Bravo!
15 years down the line , and im still moving right, still doing fine. someone said hang me up to dry earleir today , and all i can conjure quietly in my brains was the bassline. amd what a fuckin kicker of a lead guitar. thank you CWKs , thank you musick for always being my inner voice i had to revisit.
This song has something so very human about it. I Love it, Which is strange because I usually am not a fan of "today's" music or new music. But this song has a very old feel to it and a mystery that bleeds through the tones.
I had a girlfriend in the last year of highschool, it was like 2016, and she showed me this and I loved it back in those days, and I just remembered it today, I feel so old right now. This song sounds good. I never knew this song was from 2007 till today
i don't mean to spoil your party but ( although i too, am in love with it...i happen to know where it came from... ) you have to listen to this 60's hit by the Easy Beats ! ruclips.net/video/NSowZcvoqr4/видео.html at 1:08 / and ... ruclips.net/video/ctxBCMnLNo8/видео.html.... these guys had this kind of guitar picking borrowed from banjo and yukulele styles that translated into electric guitar becomes MIND BLOWINGly Cool !
I know this song is ten years old, but i've always loved it. I haven't scrolled through all 3,000+ comments, but has anyone mentioned the fact that this video was filmed in the same location as Steve Perry's "Oh, Sherry" video?
OMG: it's Quentin Tarantino singing? Haven't realized that: Nice voice 👍 Nice desperate/ angry way of singing... My favorite sound in this song is the bass chords and Tarantino's voice😉
I was listening to the radio and of course "First" came on and they were talking about how CWK's have always had good music but never a radio hit and i'm like did you forget about "Hang me out to dry"? The reason why I found these guys was listening to this song years ago on the radio and never looked back.
I was high the other day listening to this song. At 3:10 there's this creaking noise and that's in which at the same time I looked up at my air-conditioner ventilator and I thought the noise was a ghost. I had not been scared like that in a long time.
I forgot to hang up my clothes then they got moldy and i had to throw them out, it made me sort of sad so i started drinking a lot, then i realised i had no clothes left so went to get some more, unfortunately on the way i was so blind drunk i didn't see the troupe of small children crossing the road and ran over about 6 of them, fortunately because they're so small they didn't do too much damage to my ride but i'm still clothesless and stark naked. rip my clothes.
always reminds me of how my ex literally left me to possibly die alone. i can FORGIVE her but I'm not sure I can ever bring myself to communicate with her positively ever again
I love the slow, dragging and almost indifferent sound and the singer's voice that's both blissful and strained. Love it.
I agree pretty much everything about this song is good as frick
At some points IT seems to a bit unstable with the timing. But thta is one Point that makes it a great song
Saltburn deserves credit for bringing this gem back into my life
Same!
Nah playa. Real ones have been listening all these yrsss 🖤
Quite a movie. Great acting but no characters I'd ever want to spend even ten minutes with!
That amazing feeling when you haven’t heard a song in many years but then you hear it again and remember how good it is. My Dad used to play this when I was probably about 6 years old. I’m now 18 and it’s been a joy to find again
That is an amazing feeling. The sounds you’ve heard before are always just waiting for you to come back.
If there's ever a time in my life where I look cool in front of a crowd of people, I want this song to be playing.
Billy Sotherden yes
Billy Sotherden slow walkin' .. struttin' rather 🤣
Lmao
Definite flex song. Holds up 2023 ❤❤❤🎉
Fucking brilliant
You know a song is good, when you randomly get it ingrained into your mind, and you haven't listened to the band in such a long time
I heard them on John Peel years ago.
Yeah what is that lol
This whole song is a banger but that guitar part at 1:26 just hits different, it gets stuck in my head for days lol
S
yup. greetings from the year 2023 ✌️
2023 and still love this song, thank you guys for making this :')
It's now 2024 and I'm still loving it too.
@@cranna31 yeah just rediscovering them!
I'd totally forgotten this song, this is the best part of youtube... when you jump from song to song and accidentally find something new and great or pump into an old song you've already forgotten.
Excatly same as you Bro 🚀❤️
Hey, do you still remember it?
Went to a Mexican wedding, and the bride and groom danced to this. Fuckin epic.
That seems like an odd choice, because this song doesn't sound like it's about a very good relationship.
I'm Mexican, I totally would dance to this at my wedding.
I can’t stop thinking about this comment. How was the wedding?
@@MkeKen67 not odd at all. That's original.
I'm from México. Wish I was at that kick-ass wedding
Whole tone scale is a nice touch in the piano. The ratchet also adds tension and adds to the feeling they are trying to portray, that "something is wrong with this situation." I love this song.
It sounds ore like the tension on a fishing rod 🤷♀️😉
I was 13 and listening to these songs with my dad lol I’ll 25 now and here I am laying in bed reminiscing the good old days 😅😊
Headphones on, volume all the way up!!
Still gives me the chills. Destructively beautiful.
One of the most distinctive guitar riffs ever.
so simple too
This song has been stuck in my head for 6 years and I finally found it... thank you.
when I was in 8th grade this used to play almost every morning on fuse or some channel that played music videos. Catchiest song I had heard up to that point. 2006-2007 was actually a good year for alternative music
Wade Reed this is so freaky. I'm in 8th grade and this song plays every other morning in my teacher classroom. Strange coincidence
Wade Reed no lie
Wade Reed agree with u on that good years for indie
Hell yeah '06-'07 was the year I discovered my favorite band - Modest Mouse. Later, I found this song on Pandora's Modest Mouse Radio ☺
Every night I have to listen to this song, because it gets stuck in my head and won't leave. For some reason my dreams have been about laundry though.
i know this song goes with me any where
Bruh lmfao
hahahahaha :)
😂😂😂
Damn ear worms.
love to hear him say "all mixed up in the wash, hot... water... bleeding our colors" that part is awesome.
My good buddy Tony and I were doing drugs years back and this song comes on. He's all like dude it's about cocaine. I'm like bro, it's about laundry.
don't forget to separate the whites!
+Zelda Reben the drugs or the clothes...
😂😂😂
best response ever! "dont forget to seperate the whites" 1.5 speed is legit good too!
Jim Schmim lmao
Possibly one of the greatest songs of all time.
this riff is SOO sick.
one of my favorite songs:)

This song gets stuck in my head for days everything about it is so good, this whole song is my favorite part xD
I heard this song once to TV when it first came out, and it has been stuck in my head ever since... I'm so glad I found this song again!
This is such a great song! I watched Saltburn the other night and heard it and so much came rushing bacl!
My secret favourite song of all time.
Not a secret anymore but I promise not to tell anyone!
Always loved the bass on this.
Love the slow style and off key attributes puts energy in anything in doing at the time
Until now I catch this song. And I heard it like 7 years ago.
somos dois!
I asked my brother what was up with the piano mash and he said "It's art."
+Michael Lintelman your brother is a smart man
Haha
When you don't know, but don't want them to KNOW you don't know, always say it's "art".
+dcchase77 definitely art
+Michael Lintelman Es la única parte de la canción que vale la pena ...
Another absolute anthem! Can't wait for you to tour again, come back to Glasgow soon!
I used to listen to this song while walking to work early in the morning... now when I listen to it I automatically feel exhausted :/
SOILED IT
Bubblz-G listen to it in the gym or when you go running, i think that will balance it out🙆🏻♀️

happy new zear year from Greece HELLAS!!!! WITH TRUE MUSIC ΜΟΥΣΙΚΗ ΠΑΙΔΕΙΑ
It’s that cockroach that burrows it’s way through your ear into your brain.
This song will never leave you.
This song always makes me feel good and makes me want to go skate and look around the city chill smoke a toke somewhere and relax
Saw these guys for the first time last night, had to ask everyone what this song was it was such a good bop.
That jumbled piano solo is genius.
How so
@@harambematata416 I think in some strange way it fits the song- organized chaos.
how in the fuck is this 9 years old....does not feel that long....
This brings back so many great memories of Leeds Fest '07. That was a great year for rock music.
Why is Quentin Tarantino singing about laundry?
No! The singer of new found glory seriously looks identicle!!! Im not even kidding, It's kinda scary!
LMAO :)
Mr Tarantino is a very methaporical mind xD
But the lead singer looks more like woody harrelson 😆
HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA
this is awesome! never heard of them before but i'm definitely gonna check out more stuff!

i had to revisit.
I'm freaking speechless, what a great tune. I wish I had created this beautiful piece of music!
love this song!! have played it over and over and over! love his voice!
Nathan sure has power at a high range- he's hitting that B no problem.
in another life i showed up to a party late effortlessly cutesy walking through the crowd while this song bangs through the walls
I can't believe it's already 10 years !!!
I've been playing this song on repeat for days
This song has something so very human about it. I Love it, Which is strange because I usually am not a fan of "today's" music or new music. But this song has a very old feel to it and a mystery that bleeds through the tones.
es de aquellas canciones que nunca dejaria terminar.
Is this a real movie or is it just a music video because I would watch the movie.
The best fake "trailer" ever! They're from Southern California, but it's got a Cannes Italian edge. Love it! Oh, and a killer song!
This song took way too long to find me.
You see, this is the type of song where I look like an idiot listening to it, with my unintentional head bobbing and content smirk.
I had a girlfriend in the last year of highschool, it was like 2016, and she showed me this and I loved it back in those days, and I just remembered it today, I feel so old right now. This song sounds good. I never knew this song was from 2007 till today
First song I've heard by them.. Instantly awesome. :D Glad I came across them!

OMG: it's Quentin Tarantino singing? Haven't realized that: Nice voice 👍 Nice desperate/ angry way of singing... My favorite sound in this song is the bass chords and Tarantino's voice😉
It' not Tarantino's: at least he is not part of the banda. Vocals are from Nathan Wilker.
wow still finding gems like this 8 years later..

This is the most hardcore song about laundry ever.

2020 and it`s furthermore ingenious!
I wish the rest of their music sounded like this
I love the spacey sound this song has. It's like a slow slightly depressing vibe.
I didn't even know Quentin Tarentino and Woody Harrelson had a son.

Just heard this song and man it’s a must in my playlist!
This is my kind of melancholy.
im No Lana Del Rey kind.. still on this one in 2016.
My favorite parts are when in the middle of verses he'll just play random shit on the piano XDDD
