    A fan of Jessa for a long time and the reason I love her work is the step by step process and analyzing the problem and piling up in the building box in the perfect manner. Most importantly the way she get hers all the details from a problem logic board.

    Awesome job on that connector. Not only did you remove it from the donor board without melting it, but you also soldered it back on. Bravo!

    God damn I need to get myself a pair of hot tweezers.
    The board looked like someone tried to solder it with a gas burner.

    Wow. If someone would have shown this to me and asked if it can be fixed I would probably have had a good laugh and then started to clobber said someone to death with the thing so he can never mutilate any electronics ever again. That you actually managed to get it to work again is downright incredible. Good job.

    skipped indeed some smaller parts in the middle (when You said it could be boring indeed) but wow, I sat here in tension, and fear. what a repair. It looked disgusting and I really wish we would know how this earlier "repair" happened and went THAT bad. And now knowing it is "fixed"... one happy Mom Im sure. Lost pictures of litle kids isnt fun, great to see these recovered. Great job Jessa :D You did it because sometimes we do things for others without knowing why we should. The kid pictures probably made it worth it ( a little?)...

      Yes, it is happily used to this day by the many kids of iPad Rehab. I transferred the customer data to a new iPad mini as part of this repair, and we kept this one. Although to shut up some of the trolls that think jumper solutions are not robust I may throw it off the balcony one day if I ever get around to it. That would be a fun video.

      Sometimes I'm shocked when I see my own videos on YT. The thing is, for me anyway, these videos are made usually late at night all alone in a quiet shop. I'm really just talking to myself and am immersed in the repair. I forget all about the fact that whatever I'm saying could end up broadcast to the world!

    • @overthetarget9401
      @overthetarget9401 8 лет назад

      I'm not shocked, my comment was tongue in cheek and I don't mind swearing at all. Do the same thing when working on stuff and I come here for the quality content and couldn't care less how the message is conveyed. People are too sensitive these days, words are just words.
      Really appreciate all the great content and keep doing what you're doing and I and many others will keep watching I'm sure.

      I use several different microscopes here, including an Amscope microscope, that can be purchased at the link below. I recommend this one for having adjustable magnification, excellent image quality, ability to incorporate a camera into the future, and affordable price.

    Hey so I got my hands on a super rusty probably water damaged iPhone 4s that had a booting logicboard but would fail to restore with error -1 something about the baseband. Would this be viable to repair or just be a donor board? It has a few missing components on the logic board as far as I can tell. This is because somehow the back cover was forcefully removed like ripped off when I got it

    So when a board is too far gone to be fixable even for just data recovery can you transfer the nand flash to a working board and recover the data that way (or just give that machine to the customer as replacement)?

    • @JessaJones
      @JessaJones  8 лет назад

      No. You have to get working power, image, touch and USB detect for data recovery, then transfer data to computer and install on new device

    • @Yrouel86
      @Yrouel86 8 лет назад

      +iPad Rehab Wait I meant move the nand flash from the unrecoverable board to a working one, provided of course that the nand chip is intact.

    • @lorenzovanhethul1355
      @lorenzovanhethul1355 8 лет назад +1

      It is possible, but only for Wifi iPads and iPod Touches. iPhones unfortunately need their BaseBand IC and BB NOR to be swapped over too. Its possible as there is no encryption between any components of the device. Not sure about the A7 powered devices as they have Touch ID encryption, but i think it should be fine as Touch ID data is flashed on to the CPU.
