Best of the 10 videos I have seen on this subject. Thanks a lot.
I'm glad it helped! You're welcome.
thx for the demonstrations. i wasn't sure about the backcut method until you showed the last two.
You're welcome, I hope the video was helpful.
You just saved me from doing the crappy repair for someone, Need to repair a broken piece of subfloor and have to do it from above.
The first two for sure. Thanks for sharing
GREAT tips man! Thank you so much we have a puppy and he just got into the corner by the door jam and need to do a repair so it was VERY helpful to know to the right tools to have and use to make a seamless looking patch. Of course Berlin(our Min Pin) pulled up the corner and torn up the edges one week before we got our “notice of apartment inspection” on our door. Like come onnn. I’m very handy and can fix literally anything but when it comes to carpet everyone thinks they can do it easily but I’m wise enough to know to research professionals with their tools and methods so make sure the patch doesn’t show up when new management does their walk through. Thanks for much for the help I’m on my way to Home Depot to get the tools you suggested to do it the correct way, how you do it, so it blends in and we don’t get bitched at haha. Great video thanks again!
That is great to read, I'm glad it helped you out! Thank you for your kind feedback on the video.
Good demonstration. You ever use the cut out piece as a template? Place the old piece on top of your new piece and trace around the old spot. Depending the size of patch.
I do like your first demonstration the most.
I'll try that next time I do a patch for sure, sometimes it moves around too much.
I guess I just got used to stuffing it underneath the carpet 😂
Sweet video Nick!
Thank you Floored, glad you liked it!
Great Video !!
Thank you Dale!
Fantastic vedio
What is the tape you're using for gluing the patch down. And show us how to properly do that

That was a good video
Thank you Reuben!
Thanks. Would do number 1 or number 2 method. Great video!
Awesome, thanks for watching!
The top cutter seem the best so far
Great video.. thanks for sharing. What kind of tape do you use?
Thank you! I use seam tape similar to this if I'm using my hot melt iron - www.tools4flooring.com/orcon-k-40-hot-melt-seam-tape.html
wow
Hey Nick,
How long does it take you to do a carpet patch the size of the example in the video?
One like this would take me about 10 minutes I think. I've never timed myself but I will next time I do a patch! Great idea!
You have a micro wave iron? Trying to see how you finish the last side. I use an iron. Under breath. Have to pull out. The first side I'm going to leave 3-5 inches unburned tape. Just enough to pull the iron out at the end. Don't do these enough. Most live with stains. Lol.
Alright sorry for the late reply, here is a video showing 4 ways to actually glue the patch in - ruclips.net/video/kW4A_jkDc5M/видео.html
It does get a little tricky if you're using a regular hot-melt iron, I never really liked doing it that way since it's kind of a pain finishing the patch like you said.
I like this video, but is there one that shows the glueing and finishing?
I think this video might be more helpful for you - ruclips.net/video/7tmmIAdbcCY/видео.html
WHERE CAN YOU RENT A COOL GLIDE CARPET SEAM TOOL ?
I'm not sure who rents those out, maybe a local carpet store would.
The cut is everything doesn’t matter how you cut as long as you know the point of what your doing
Ok
Y you not show how you burn it‽ that's what people are going to struggle with.
?
I was trying to see how you burned the seam with an iron.
@@dhambone825919 i have other videos showing that, I'm at a job now but I'll send them to you later today.
Got a 2x2 patch so I'll have to do all sides separate. I was thinking I leave few inches at the start so I can melt it at the end and have room to pull iron out. Make sense? Lmk
