I do appreciate how you never follow the crowd. We're so conditioned to reach for an 11 or 12ft Avon rod etc blah blah for barbelling, I'd never think of the 8 footers on a high tripod but you demonstrate so well that it makes complete sense. Bravo!
Why do anglers cast to the far bank? Just imagine if you were set up over the other side i bet youd cast to where he is set up now so why dont they drop the bait close in?
It's funny you should say this I've oftern thought it to, So last time I went I put it to the test, I baited far bank and the near bank, and cast to both with the same end tackle and I caught 2 barbel from basically under my feet so I'll be doing the same next time I go
