¾ of the students are girls.. (means that there are 3x more girls than boys as 3:1 for girls:boys)

Back then, in my design poly course, I had peers who entered the course with 4-10points in O's L1R5. They knew what they wanted at the age of ~16 and excelled. One took over dad's carpentry family business, one set up 2 design companies with good reputation. Well, it's a different demand in the industry in this era where "factory style" (when Sg became independent where engineers, doctors, architects etc etc were reall high in demand, which required alot of academic-based skills, where the mindset of the generation was moulded-only by doing these field, u can make a living since most of the ppl around you are flourishing cuz of this) is not as flourishing compared to 30 years back. My uncle hit the jackpot when he entered into the construction line when it was really high in demand. Now, more and more people, especially youngsters are looking into wellness of life, higher education, travel, new technology, comfort etc, where creative thinking and soft skills are highly sort after in the market. It's a different demand. Currently I am working in social science line with children. Really lack of manpower in this (Especially in counselling, psy or therapy related) where people are more aware and educated in this era as compared to the constructing and building the basic needs of Singapore ('buildings' legitly) and many didn't see it coming back then. Who would knew that you could make a living by playing online games right now. Think further n see the demand. Early childhood education is in huge demand too. Esp many parents understand the importance of early childhood education. (Though our babies are getting lesser and lesser, well, international schools need people too) 😂

23 sweet is 3 girl 1 boy sweet together
    2300/23=100
but donot forget "100" is 3 girl 1 boy sweet together
so 100/4=25 cause there is four people
there should be 25 boys right?
if i am wrong correct me

      Kenny Lam
You’re right in saying that 23 sweets are given to 3 girls and 1 boy.
But in the end 2300 sweets were given out. Let’s say that the 3 girls and 1 boy were in a single group. To give out 2300 sweets, you’ll need 100 of those groups of 3 girls and 1 boy. And therefore, that amounts to a 100 boys.

Most of these ‘JC’ students are from neighbourhood JCs and certainly isn’t a good test subject as they are almost no different from Poly students

what do you even mean by “JC” ? Be it neighbourhood JC or not, they still went JC. This is a comparison between Poly and JC students, not between poly students and students from the best JCs.
