As a martial artist for 30 years I have to say Im not fully convinced on this one. His left kick still looked very similar to before he started the session. I think he simply has a very poor mechanical execution of his technique rather than an actual problem with his body. Practice both sides. Always both sides people. Much love ❤️🥋
Those Muay Thai kicks are nuts. I remember in elementary school watching a documentary about how they will train by kicking coconut trees over and over because it will eventually temper the bone and allow for a harder kick. No doubt she's done the same if it's true
She has good form, but the video was sped up and sound altered to make it look more powerful and faster than it was. It does help the bone, but it's a long process as well. Some believe the bags are still safer and more effective though, just a heads up for newbies.
@@patootie3529 it literally is sped up. Like many of those shorts. I train as well. Many people kick faster than this. I'm speaking from a vfx stand point.
DPT and muay thai practitioner here. Great exercises given the nature of the pt complaint. However, I'd also strongly encourage the pt to get additional training around his form and kicking mechanics. He is throwing an upwards soccer kick, more or less, rather than a Thai kick with hip turn over in time with his foot pivot to generate power. Even if the target is a head his mechanics are off and will exacerbate his limitations.
I just posted this too. This is very hard to watch they need to tell this kid to stop immediately before he trains bad patterns and mechanics into his brain. For anybody reading this, you need to learn how to things correctly from subject matter experts, and dont try to teach yourself because it looks cool. This kid would get very hurt in a fight trying to kick like that
More like this PLEASE 🙏. As a martial arts practitioner and instructor anything that can help me help my students with their hips would be hugely appreciated.
@@uikengalo mofo we are made out of flesh and bones, Machines can't even last forever. So if something as sturdy as a machine eventually breaks what do you think your body will do. It's common sense. No need for an explanation from a Tik Tok short.
I really appreciate these posts! Could I ask for one small addition? It would be helpful to clarify the timelines so people understand that building up mobility and returning to their previous activities can take time, especially when recovering from pain. The way you're doing it now usually seems instant. Thanks so much! 🙏🏻
Applying these same concepts but within the martial arts context is a great idea I love it, keep up the good work Next video idea: hip impingement, kama sutra edition 😏
She's saying Indonesian word "muncrat" idk how to describe it means 😅 but it's like squirt/splashing. And i think she's doin Indonesian sports named Silat (just like Muay Thai or Taekwondo). P.s. I'm not good talking in English, sorry
Thank you sir for making this video. I'm also a taekwondo player and have been suffering from the same pain for 1 year. ❤ In fact most taekwondo players suffer from that but it's not very painful so we ignore them.
Please do more of these. I train in martial arts and have issues like this with my kicks and need more stability, flexibility, and mobility movements to improve these
I was hit by a car in 2020 on the right side of my body. I can throw a round kick more effectively with my right leg, but whenever I stretch my right leg, there's pain in my right hip. This video definitely helps.
This is off topic but some comments were saying that she was kickboxing or doing Muay Thai. Most people think that Muay Thai and kickboxing are the same thing but they are not because Muay Thai is a defensive martial arts and kickboxing is an offense of martial arts. For example of kickboxer with rush at you continue under pressure to open up valuable hitting areas and defending a little to tire you out, but a Muay Thai fighter would defend then attack slowly while defending and look for the perfect opening to attack, and Muay Thai moves at a slower rate than kickboxing for concentrated attacks, but kickboxing would move out of faster rate to open up valuable hitting spots. All in all they're both great martial arts
Unbelievable how hard a kick is from someone who knows what theyre doing in muay thai. Had bruises on my arms from practice with some guys. I was holding a huge pad!
Chinthya being featured here is unexpected. Dr. Aaron, I genuinely want to ask you if you’ve heard about the complaints that other people in the Indonesian and generally international martial arts space have on her. I know this may not seem like a big deal to some folks but it is still a concern that someone like Chinthya despite her success in the film industry as a stuntwoman and choreographer got negative attention because of the outlandish claims she and her teacher Agus made. Both individuals claimed mastery over what’s called the “Ghost Blade” technique which is basically a made up story where they sliced something with a machete while the target was behind a metal pole. There’s also the faked videos that Chinthya made where she pretends to kick a load bearing pillar until it broke when in fact she had her production team hit it with a sledgehammer. Some local martial artists challenged her and Agus to either spar with them or perform the feats seen in the videos live, but she only sent her representative as well as took them to the site where the pillar was supposedly kicked until it shattered.
My opinion: The patient lacks core strength and stability and he needs to work on kick technique, which is why he looks like a boomerang when he kicks hehe

His right kick sucks too. He’s obviously a white belt or beginner, so it’s natural his non-dominant side would be far weaker and less graceful. His dominant and non-dominant side kicks are exactly what every beginner looks like.

That kick literally made my legs tingle imagining the pain, yet she was unfazed.

You’d be surprised how your body adapts. She just didn’t get to do that over night.
Nah if she kicks you , you will hardly feel anything

Mobility and strength in certain areas is sooooo important for a fighter. Mkst think stretching is enough, its absolutely not enough.
Very few martial arts gyms are focusing on sports specific stability and mobility exercises, its good to bring out this topic.
