This was my favorite video so far. I haven't watched all of them except most about trucking as I'm prepping for my own career change. I'm disappointed that your last video was posted 9 months ago but I understand that life/family comes first. Good luck to you in all your endeavors.
I just moved to local after working for Swift at the same terminal as you lol! My training was at the Fontana terminal and my main was the Jurupa terminal. Now I'm driving local flat bed for a metal company only 15 minutes away. Life is good bro haha
8:22 ~ The loader has a scale built into it that tells the operator the weight of each scoop. Some loaders don't have that scale, so they can estimate the weight by knowing the weight per yard of the material they're loading times the number of yards they load. Each bucket full has a maximum fullness of a certain number of yards. (yards loaded x tons per yard = total weight)

Great content, I appreciate your full transparency in what you do. Please do make a vid on the business side of things with how to get a DOT, LLC etc. this would be very helpful to those starting on a similar path as you. Much appreciated and congrats! 🙏
I worked at company driving trailers like the ones you have hauling rock/sand (doing laps. back & forth) and delivering them to these places where they make cement, so those ready mixers can do their business. It was the worst job of my life. I mean, it was easy but holy cow was it boring. I cannot sit down driving like that for 10-12 hours doing the same thing all day every day. My ass would start to hurt after about 6-7 hours and there was never really any moments where I got off and used my legs unless I used one of those portable bathrooms which were disgusting. I don't know, just driving those trucks all day made my mind run wild in that truck and I hated it. I'm the type of guy who needs physical movement so I can keep my mind busy. I no longer do truck driving. I was in it for about two years and don't plan on going back. The schedule also sucked monkey nuts. Start times were different on the daily basis. Times were: 6am, 5:15am, 4:15am, or 3am. I fucking hated it. lol The day would start off cool though. I would listen to some music while sippin on some coffee. I loved that part but that only lasted for like the first two hours or so before the coffee went away and the music gets boring. Then I try podcast but even that shit gets boring. lol Then they'd say "one more load" I was always like "fuck that load!" I'm done with this driving shit. 3 loads were enough for me.
Tony, congratulations about new job! I hope so that you happy. If you have another way to talk with me, I am from Brazil. I would like spoke in private for other information. Thanks
Hi bro, First of all thank you so much for these great videos I enjoyed watching them, you are doing great job, I only have question and could you give me an answer from your experience please, I’m going to school next month in TX to learn and get cdl but generally I feel scary I keep thinking about it and keep imagine omg it’s long Vehicle and don’t know, am driving 20 years ago but I mean small vehicle but you know we’re talking about a truck!! probably you got me please how can I remove this bad feeling away??? I hope you get my comment, question and answer me . Of course I did subscribe and keep putting 👍👍👍 to your videos,, Thank you take care bro
Thats awesome! Put it this way, if it were so hard driving a truck & trailer, why can pretty much anyone do it? If I can do it, if all those truckers in the world can do it, then you can do it too. Day by day you'll get more and more comfortable operating the vehicle, just dont get too comfortable. You just need to understand what happens to the truck when you commit the action. Understanding how it works before you drive gives you a better understand on how to operate when you're behind the wheel. Good luck out there!
I made $1,000 a week with Swift working 55-65hrs a week being away from home Mon-Fri & I left to make more money elsewhere while also sleeping in my own bed every night. No penalties, I wasn't under any contract (I put myself through CDL school with United Trucking here in San Diego). Now I make 1300-1500 a week Mon-Fri (50-55hrs) and I'm home every night! Thanks for watching
How did you find this job? I just got my CDL and I want to find a local job, home everyday. Do I have to start over the road before I can start at a local job?
You don't need any driving experience for a lot of local companies, some do require it but not all. My advice is to figure out where all the landfills, concrete plants, asphalt plants, new construct & excavating plants are, go there and write the names of all the different trucks going in and out, jump on google, find there info and give them a call. If you just google local aggregate companies or local dump truck companies you wont find most of them. Let them know you're newly licensed (try your best to get your endorsements) and you're ready to learn & work hard. Good luck! oh and a friend referred me with this company
Thank you! I really appreciate you getting back to me so quickly. I will definitely do what you said and hopefully I find someone willing to give me a chance. I have all endorsements, tankers, doubles/triples, and hazmat.
The trucks need to be manual transmission if the job requires going in and out of dirt, you need the added torque and ability to manipulate the gears at any given time, that's what I was told. You can still find local jobs with automatics, food delivery & maybe even Coca Cola

@@r.g.5912 Have you been able to find a job doing anything local?
No not yet. Just finished school semester and will start looking in a week or two
Are you in San Diego ?
Did you go to a private trucking academy ? Or did you go through swift ? Training
Not automatic trucks on that company??
Negative, all stick shifts
Is there jobs like this but with auto trucks ? And what is this called

Hi ! I'm an OO since 2017, shifting toward online gig... Why do you need your own truck, if you have 1.07K subscribers and 132,041 views ?
RUclips is primarily a hobby, my main goal is to have a small fleet with a decent amount of cashflow, what do you plan on doing online?
