Wow thx for sharing this picking experience video, I’ve been to NZ 2 yrs ago, but didn’t pick cherries, I want to be back NZ with SSE visa again this yr, useful advices! Thx!
Hey Gojun, if you want to know more about cherrie picking then check the rest of the videos about daily life. And if you have more question feel free to ask them on our facebook page. Steps to make: facebook.com/stepstomake
We just watched it from the big tv, awesome video guys!!, nice to also get to know you guys through your videos. Love it !! :D Now Carina seen it twice too haha
Ou my, thank you for that but haha - hope it wasn't too much. :) You love to go ALL IN - awesome. Now editing the next one and I have to say it will be one of those funny vlogs, 1st one for us.
Wow I didn’t know that New Zealand had so many big cherry plantations! Very informative video 🙌 Enjoyed watching and learn all about the cherry picking work. As an ex backpacker I totally feel ya! Did some fruit picking but never cherries so it’s very interesting to see the differences :) Your happy faces after your last day of the season were priceless 😄 Holy Moly that’s a lot of buckets!! You guy’s rock! Have fun spending your hard earned $$ !😁
Right? It's way bigger than I could ever imagine + all the money that's in it- wow. Now, in case, if you decide to get quite a lot of money in less than 2 months, you'll know where to go 😃 The end of the season was such a happy moment, so so true. Thank you for watching, Carina 🙏
GREAT informative video - quality content which definitely helps !! To my surprise you do maintain a good quality content over all NZ life and it's great to see them here before going to NZ. Like you and Arthur i'd prefer to max out my productivity wage ratio so that I could get to enjoy and kick off the bucket list ASAP!! 1. Would CAE tax code work on NZ working holiday visa holder though ?! As I have heard tax code M being the more mainstream tax code amongst the WHV being the primary tax code. I would imagine it saves you a tonne of money @ 17.5% rather than 30% going beyond $48k per annum 2. Would you recommend some of your past cherry houses as there are varieties of huge and owner orchards across !! 3. What are the usual hours for cherry picking as you rest at 8-9pm, I briefly heard from Arthur it was 7 hours a day? 4. How is Arthur 30% faster than you 😁😁😁
Ashton, thanks for watching - Great to find it truly useful. We will try our best to answer these questions: 1. Yes, you can use CAE tax code for up to 3 months in a 12 month period as a WH visa holder. We used it for these 2 months and the rest of the year went off using M code. You definitely want to keep under 48 k NZD if you want to pay less tax but it's up to you. It's always to go for a way higher income if you find the right job. 2. There are heeps but I noticed that Suncrest orchard starts always earlier than any other, so that might be a good choice. From there you can see what you like better, maybe even send all orchards a message asking about their pay rates. 3. Normally you'd start at 6 or 7 am and finish at 2/3 pm. Then again, there might be days when you get shorter days as it gets too hot for fruit to be picked or it starts to rain. 4. That's a serious statement. I think half of the whole cherry-picking is a mental game + I'm a bit afraid of rights so you can imagine. 😀 Let me know if you happen to have other questions, we're happy to help!
Hi William, Our recommendation would be (if you want to maximise your money season) - start at Suncrest Orchard as they start the season as 1st ones ALWAYS and then migrate to other orchards when they start. Sometimes this could give you up to extra 2-3 weeks to earn money as soon as possible. Good luck!
Good morning everyone 👋👋👋i enjoyed watching your video 👍❤️ thanks for sharing this with us very useful my friend, picking cherry so cute i love it napakaganda naman po sarap manguha ng cherry, ingat po stay safe both of you.
Hi Gerald! Great work - they were allowed to pick everything at the end part, right? We had a couple of friends who said it, and also they finished the season as one of the last ones.
Hi Gerald I have few questions to ask because im planning to go for the fruit picking next season 🥹 1. So you just stay whole season in CentralPac or you move to different orchard? 2. Do you mind to share the most important tips to reach the 15k ? Thank you!
@@Stepstomake Hi! I just want to ask about the accommodation tips if you guys don’t mind to share your experience? Did you guys book for the cabin on site or find another accommodation by yourself in Cromwell town?
Hey! Great video. Haven't catched it if you mentioned but care to share which farm you worked on? Or do you have any tips for a farm I should apply at? Thanks
Hi Jan, I would start with Suncrest and then see how I like it, then if it's amazing, because they are great as they start the earliest. Then just go from there if you want to swap. When are you planning to start the season?
Hello. Please tell me, can anyone, for example, a citizen of Russia, apply for this vacancy? I also want to work with you. Where can I contact you have a messenger or WhatsApp
@@Stepstomake I am currently in palmerston north. I can either drive to Cromwell or fly to Queenstown, take intercity to Cromwell. However, flying is cheaper, driving is more convenient. I'm not sure how necessary to have a car during my cherry picking?
@@tongchen999 If you have a car as you say, I would say go with the car because then you will have your freedom during the season. Easier to get groceries, swimming etc. Which orchard are you going for?
@@Stepstomake I have gotten two offers, one is Suncrest, the other is Sarita. I think I will go to Suncrest first as they are the easiest. I also applied 45 south, fortune, cherry crop and central pack. Haven't received any offers from them yet. I am not sure which orchard that I can earn more money for my tuition fee. Do you have any recommendations?
Hi Natalie, we never tried it. We only did picking. But from friends we ahve heared that it’s okay. Only minus is that you have a fixed rate per hour where in picking, you can earn more. 👍 Which orchard are you aiming to join?
@@Stepstomake I think I would do it short term because my back hurts easy these days. I have worked as a cowboy before and it was pretty fun. I booked a flight to Queenstown just yesterday to look for ski work during winter season so I will be going over soon :)
I'm very interested in trying this is it hard work? Would you do it year after year if it was possible or it's nice to just do a season a year because it's tough job?
Hi! Happy New Year 👏 Regarding your questions - it’s for sure not an easy job but it does depend on a person. We did Cherry picking 2 seasons and you can see in our other video how the season actually looked like as we documented all of it 🙌 Enjoy the videos and let us know in case you got other questions 👍
Hello, is it possible that you tell me the place wher you did it? I mean the name of the company. And also is it easy to find a flat around the area to stay while the season is on= Thank yooou!
Hi Jana! We can’t really share specific names here on YT but there are heaps of great orchards in this area- Cromwell. Only tip would be to pick the one you het paid for how much you pick otherwise you will be stuck at a fixed rate even in a high season and you will need that motivation to keep on going. Regarding flat - more likely you might find a room or a camp site super close to orchard. Feel free to ask your employer once you send them an email, they all will have options. We found our flat in the 2nd season through FB group in Cromwell. Got super lucky because there are not a lot of free spaces like that. Good luck 🤞⭐️🍒
Hi! We honestly can not recommend a company but we for sure can suggest - apply for almost all of them and then see which offer you like the best. Some have even bunk rooms available, some have free camp sites, some have paid campsites, you can choose based on your needs. One thing I can advice is - go where you can earnbased on how much you pick - it’s a massive motivator 👍 Hope this will help 🍒
Hi Walter, You probably saw the video bit here we are talking specifically about Cromwell. ✨ best advice is to search orchards in Google and go straight to their home page.
