Hard to include all expenses but you definitely left one out I had to mention- storage. Most lawn business require a storage area to keep their equipment secure, whether it be your garage at your house, storage facility rental, etc it still costs money and should not be overlooked.
Great video as usual and all so true. I really love and appreciate your advice. Not many can explain as clearly as you do... I also love your house to videos where you toss in your humor. It's all amazing
Thank you "teacher" for motivating me to Know my numbers. Will be raising some rents.. I own rentals but your points work on every business. I laughed when you said do not do it just by the money in the bank at the end of the year. Guilty.

I'm having the problem that even when I'm reasonable in my pricing, even when I give myself a bit of a cut to ensure the customer is a continued customer, they still think I'm charging too much. I've explained to them that there's overhead with a small business and everything else, but they still get pissy about it. I undercharged this guy to do a job that I don't normally do and he thought I was ripping him off. He was supposed to be there Friday for me to come and spray and "talk about payment" and pay me, but he tells me he won't be there til Saturday. It seems he thinks I'll just come whenever it is convenient for him, at his leisure. He didn't show up today either, called me once but I wasn't there to pick up, I call him back and he didn't answer. Seems he's trying to dodge me. I made the mistake of not having him sign an invoice--still owes me $208.
I am working in central Florida thisis what I am trying to say to the other small lawn service business guys in my area $25 per cut is just not enough I raise my prices to $30 per cut and your are Wright the customers that drop me I don't want them anyway
You might say a business owner needs to get microscopic with his numbers , seeing and knowing the smallest of details ! on top of all the things , you used as examples , there are probably some unknown hidden costs that show up from time to time !
Until they bust a window and it cost 800, lol, Great video. Goes to show you lawn mowing stinks. I can see why you are going pest control. Numbers are so much better.
You fly by the seat of your ass and eventually you will land on the crown of your head. Business is not a hobby and a hobby is not a business. If you run your business like a hobby, you will eventually live in a cardboard box.

It's called micro-managing you numbers and it is vital to success in any business.
Most owner operators DON'T know their numbers. That's why many can never get off the truck!
The reality is not just knowing the numbers but knowing what to do with money once they have it.
Thanks man this shit helped
I'm glad Grayson I hope you enjoyed it and if you did don't forget to subscribe I have hundreds of videos.

I agree George but I feel it’s much more fun flying by the seat of my ass
