Folks, it ain't an orchestra. There are no strings except an upright bass or guitar used in certain charts. They are a band. I share in the fandom, as they are one of the finest around and I would love to get to hear/play with them, but they're a band.
Point taken. In my neck of the woods they call them Wind Ensembles or Symphonic Band. I'm in the Walters State College-Community Symphonic Band (the community part - haven't been a college student in 10+ years).
