It is very exciting to hear him say that it is important for Chogyam's teachings to also grow at Surmang and therefore the traditional Tibetan community. It may not seem so, but that is a significant and, by many standards, very bold statement. Chogyam's teachings take the essence of Tantra and reject a lot of the more limiting aspects of institutionalized Buddhism as represented by the Dalai Lama and such. By affirming the existence of Shambhala as a real experience of the physical world, Chogyam was suggesting that integration rather than rejection of the world should be sought by all rather than being secret doctrine hidden behind years of piety and karmic paranoia. Good stuff.
2:10 Not so easy to translate the teachings of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche into Tibetan. Mostly small groups of words spoken in an Oxbridge accent strung together without any grammar into non-sentence formations. But we are most happy to try. But Lama Tsongkhapa is a lot easier for us.
Well it's not a matter of his hangin' out with you anymore. What he's requesting is that you translate XI's teachings for him. Bringing back in what he brought out. Modern logistical issues you know. Which of course go back even further than Guru Rinpoche.
