I said it from day one, sequential is a must for this set up. And they clearly have there’s dialed in to perfection. Flat foot shifting in a 1500hp viper has to be nutty…
Hey Mike, it's Matt from Cape Cod and the Boston area.(we've talked a few times. I'm the guy that grew up with drag-cars & race boats) Please do not make the mistake, of passing up on getting the sequential trans. You will be kicking yourself, later on down the road, if you put a manual transmission in your viper. Because I can relate to you, as far as Ioving to slam gears in a stick. But you built that incredible Viper setup, to be insanely quick. And while the manual will be fun; nothing can compare to a sequential. Thats literally race-spec. Well, I hope you get the sequential. And you will be a very rare-street car guy, let alone a RUclipsr, with a viper-1100hp-sequential car. As you know, we both have almost exactly the same preference of favorite cars. And that viper is going to be able to beat cars that have even more power, than it, because nothing comes close to the sequentil's instantaneous ability to shift. Anyway, congrats on the kickass-Viper. I can't decide if I'm going to enter for the truck.(which is a sweet-truck, btw) I think I'd rather wait until you do a Viper ACR giveaway or another C8-Z51 or maybe another exotic car give-away? Oh before I forget, if you ever call; best to call me after 9pm east coast time. Or you could text me first, to confirm that I can talk. And I'll know it's you; due to your 717 area code. Sorry for the long message. Anyway, again, congrats on the Viper. peace, Matt
100% sequential! After seeing that I can't imagine shifting completely manual. You will definitely regret not getting it, especially since you experienced it first hand.
The sequential is definitely the move man.. if your Gunna send it this hard ya gotta full send it it's way faster like 5-10 mph type faster in the airport shootouts or maybe even 1/4 and 1/2 mi but it's definitely a roll racing monster.. congrats man if you go sequential no one you have ever raced so far is even Gunna require more than pump gas haha
You definitely want the sequential. It plays into traction management as well as it being significantly stronger. It would be a waste of all the effort to skip it.
Considering you are looking for maximum straight line speed going sequential is the best option. A 1400hp manual wouldn't be fun to drive and only makes the car slower.
@@karlhopkins713 I personally believe 700hp is the cut off for a fun to drive manual car. But each to their own I guess 🤷. Anyways this car needs to go fast af. So why bother with a manual?
Definitely get the sequential it’s must. So much faster and I think you’ll enjoy it more it’s more like a race car, all the sounds you get from it man holy.
Not really. The way they tune those cars it doesn't matter if it's sequential or manual. They dial them in buttery smooth. You can still do boost by gear with a manual too
A normal automatic would probably be best because a computer will always shift faster than a human with a manual, I don’t care how good you are at shifting manual, never will you be able to shift faster than a computer. A sequential is going to probably be middle of the road not too hard or not too easy and hopefully Mike will still be able to have fun feeling like he’s driving a manual but in reality there’s just no clutch.
I’m low key excited for your viper build. Most kids I knew had a Ferrari lambo or Porsche on the wall.. your boy had a blue viper with white stripes 🤜🏻 ! You’re going to break hearts with that thing. Be safe mike !

Definitely go with the sequential! It's less of a handful than the manual, though the manual can still be good as well. There are a few cars that run 6s in the 1/4 with a 6-speed trans.
Get the sequential it’s what makes it all work all together so beautifully, the h pattern sounds nice but when you grab a gear in the sequential it feels so good
Sequential all the way Mike , it will be way slower with the manual trans and then you will be sending it back , also I’m sure it plants the power down way easier than a standard trans would . Awesome build Mike . I think it’s going to be the best one yet !
If the viper was a autocross car or carving up the backroads I would absolutely say keep the 6 speed manual. But with 1300 to the wheels gotta be the sequential 💯
I have a TT Viper (B&W gen 2 UGR GTS) making similar power on pump gas. Even at these lower settings, the manual is a big limiting factor. It still ran 7's with the stick, but sequential is definitely the way to go.
Considering the power levels this will put down, I truly believe that a manual will be too tricky when banging gears. Good chance of wheel spin with the manual, and at those speeds it could get hairy really fast. Go with the sequential to safely put the power to the ground.
I am a "save the manuals" kinda guy but I will say that you NEED to go Sequential on this one Mike! Being able to shift as fast or faster than dct cars in a 1500hp Viper is gonna Crush EVERYTHING!! 👊👊🇺🇸
