Well that kick to the face changed his whole " I have heart ❤️ thing quick' lol
Love the music
Fantastic. Leading to the birth of MMA. What an amazing evolution for martial arts ♥ being a witness to this in my life I appreciate. In 500 years the history books will tell of the time MMA was born.
after i saw gracie fight i wanted to learn jiu jitsu why they changed this tournament format it was the best
Closest thing to Street Fighter that will ever be real.
The referees sucked back then 😭😂
The rules were completely different back then. Referees were not allowed to interrupt or stop fights. The fighter either had to quit ,tap out or their Corner had to throw the towel in. Those were the rules.
Plus no biting or eye gouging that was it
@@adamzaidi1748 Actually you can see during the first UFC that some of the referees didn't know what the tapout meant and Royce Gracie had to explain it to the referee during the fight.
Bat Hombre fish hooking, eye gouging or biting. hitting in the nut sack and pulling hair are completely legal moves. don't forget that there's no time limit and only one round.
@@adamzaidi1748 but even after a tap the referee stand there hesitant what to do
And the “World Martial Art Tournament” from Dragonball began... this was awesome. Wish they could still where their own gi
This will never catch on.
😂😂😂
ur right UFC never existed it's just a figment of ur imagination
@@WeirdBulldog You're out of your depth 😃
@@WeirdBulldog No gloves, no weight classes and no rules. Couldn't be further away from todays UFC. UFC today is closer to a Miss Universe competition, they are run by the same parent company after all.
@@leftylucy2263 Lol I know this I'm an MMA fighter
You have to fight with passion that's what we love to watch
Mario Yamazaki would've loved to referee one of these fights
I watched it live back then.. really a game changer.. gracie jujitsu.. i never see things like that before..
Holy crap. I was reading mcgregors book and it mentioned Royce Gracies ufc 1 performance. I didn’t realise how technical bjj was until this moment. Holy crap that’s incredible!!!
It's like watching a fighting movie like Bloodsport
Exactly but it's kickboxer instrumental theme
1:23 Because it’s bare knuckles..bare rules...no rules
When you didn’t practice your smack talk even once.
Hey we from UFC TV studio will like to make an appointment with you to shoot a little one liner for the program. Okay go. I misspoke should we do another take? No I only came down with my crew all the way to your sweaty gym, we don't have time to do another take.
Royce Gracie changed UFC forever. This is few if any fighters left that don’t do some for of MMA or Jujitsu… He was having guys tap out without a single submission just ground rolling, today every fighter fills the tactics he used in same way or form
I remember being in middle school and renting this VHS at Hollywood Video and watching it, and realizing my Shito-Ryu was probably not going to help me much in a real fight.
Same, but HS. We'd have parties to watch them when the new videos came out. Brofest really. Lol
Wow, UFC was awesome back then!
3:20 today I learned the phrase “throwing in the towel” is quite literal
Of course...
Yeah because That’s where it originates and what happens.. there corner throws a towel in to the ring to stop the fight. Idiot.
@@jacklogan1873 you just misspelled half of your words and used the wrong grammar. Idiot
This music is perfect
So, basically everyone just decided to combine all fighting styles into one and call it MMA cause they realized there were advantages to knowing many different fighting techniques.
Yep jiu jitsu most important then muy Thai I would say
@@shap7296 Wrestling or Shoot Fighting is also pretty important to make and defend takedowns.
@@mickthelick5788 that’s pretty much what jiu jitsu is
@BEAZTA7 yes
@BEAZTA7 yes
lack of defense strategies made these fights particularly harrowing
LOVE THAT PUNT TO THE FACE!!! LOL!!
The Black guy and the white guy kickboxer had an amazing fight kudos to both, what a brawl.
3:20 damn that was pure violence
Looked like Chris Farley kicked arsenio halls ass that round
you should watch Shogun's soccer kicks from the Pride days
I used to love watching UFC when it was all styles and weights
Referees hadn’t a clue what was happening 😂
Absoluty true hahaha
This is a real And True UFC
someone needs to make a ppv like this again. It would be amazing to see these guys in 2020 with no rules in a gauntlet match.
That's why they call this thing Bloodsport KID!
Poor Hawaiian dude...😳
And Sumo been disqualified from any combat sport just like that
He got a sweet role on the TV show Hawaii 5-0 though!
Drumkilla15 kamekona!
Pretty sure thats the Hawaiian dude from forgetting sarah Marshal lmao
Kamekona😳
Great video ! The music during the fights is awesome!
I still can't believe Royce Gracie shot in on Ken Shamrock like that at the start of the fight. The balls on Royce. Early UFC was the wild west.
The fact that there weren't weight classes was crazy at that time. The music comes straight out of bloodsport 😂
I remember going to the video store and renting these on VHS in the 90’s. I doubt any of the fighters remember any of it.
The championship of this tournament taught my teacher that teaches me jujitsu 30 years later I'm 10 years old and I greatly respect jujitsu
Ji juitsu guy is like takedown and lets chock😂😂
My favorite music to workout to
Is this music from the Bloodsport soundtrack?
It's a mix of "Bloodsport," and "Kickboxer," music very similar Jean Claude Vam Dam movies from the 80's. I thought it made sense as the first UFC was a lot like the "Kumite," in Bloodsport. Thanks for commenting brother.
@@KiKarzeeee It does fit nicely 👍
Good memories. Those were the best UFC fighting days. ❤️
Art Jimmerson reminds me of Eddie Murphy in Beverly Hills Cop when he gets the fruit from the guy in the grocery store. Haha.
ronda rousey would get banged up
at this UFC.
she better be glad she made it in
the rules era.
These refs make Mazzagatti and Yamasaki look like the best refs
It's like street fighter comes to life
Remember watching this thinking it was ruined by the ground wrestling
I miss these fights. I wish it could still be like this.
the only champs would be heavyweight or light heavyweight fighters lol
