Holy smokes James, this one is over the top. The manner in which you captured all the highlights could not have been done any better. Literally every single thing you ate looked amazingly delicious. Your camera skills and editing are seriously impressive as heck. What really brings it home and makes the content so enjoyable is how laid back and chill you are. This is broadcast quality content. You need a show of the Food Network my friend. Great coverage, very articulate, to the point, and no wasted time. It gets better and better. Thanks for sharing my friend, and as always...Cheers.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate those kind words! With each and every video I try to make it better than the last so it means a great deal to me when people enjoy them.
@@Jamesnu I agree whole heartedly everything looked scrumptious! Especially the ribs! yummmmy thanks again for a great video. How did u do at the marathon? I hope u finished, that's the most important thing, just get over the finish line and u r a winner!
Thanks James! This delicious and interesting story of Nashville..read like a good book! Can't wait for the next chapter. Wishing you luck on your run.🏃🍝
You have a magical way, James, in the way that you include everyone into your dining experiences. It's as though you have invited us into your own home--relaxed and personable. Cheers, my good man! Darryl
Simply stated, I am so glad to comment on just how much I enjoy your offerings. As always, your restaurant reviews are descriptive, well crafted, & "on point"! I especially enjoy your travel videos away from NYC or Chicago since it offers reviews & commentary of places that are not so commonly traveled by us "locals" (NYC). Thanks so much for sharing! This is Peter; out!
The founder of Rise passed away two years ago. I knew him from the Durham restaurant scene. Great man. There is nothing on the menu that is not fantastic my buddy manages the one a half a mile from my house. I’m there all the time regarding your videos. You are much better than a lot of the channels. You don’t have all the superlatives and hyperbole I just want the information. I definitely enjoy your style. Keep up the good work.
Thank you! I really appreciate it! That's a shame about the owner, I didn't know that. Every time I've been to Rise I enjoyed some great food. I wish that there was one of those in NYC.
Nashville looks kick ass! Best food critic channel out there. Timmy C Arizona p.s. Don't get married per you'll be reduced to a work donkey eating saltine crackers with peanut butter. 😂
Martins is one of the best BBQ places in Tennessee. Since pre covid their prices have not gone up much if any. I eat at Martin’s a lot and they have never failed to deliver delicious BBQ each and every time I go.
Hey James - Ever since I discovered your channel about a month ago I've been binging all of your videos. I just wanted to give you props. The production quality and your narration are next level. You are really talented at what you do. Can't wait to see your channel blow up!
I am from the Caribbean and thoroughly enjoyed your video, I would be travelling to Nashville for a short holiday and based on the places you highlighted I would visit...Great video documenting the sites and food good job Keep at it ❤❤
Martin’s BBQ is AMAZING!! Hands down the BEST! Their BBQ sauces are to DIE for. Loved them so much that I ended up ordering some online from their website to have shipped home. Sooooo excited to dive into them and have that taste back home! Anyone visiting Nashville, you HAVE to stop there! You won’t regret it!
Hi James, great episode ! Beautiful city. Loved the music museum tour. Have seen that on a British program 'The Hairy Bikies' when they did their famous Route 66 tour from beginning to end. I recommend them to you. Both places you went to get my tick of approval. Hope you did well in the marathon next day. Thank you & all the best from Australia !
Thank you! I run better if I stuff myself the day before, but I did make it a point at least to stay away from spicy food. I hope you enjoy Nashville! I sure did!
Very nice, James! I have yet to visit Tennessee, but it is up there on my list. Both meals looked excellent, as did the music museum! I hope were happy with your race time, and nailed a PR!
Thank you! Yeah, Tennessee has a lot to offer and I definitely ate well during my trip. The race was alright. I will actually feature a bit of it in an upcoming video.
Superb video James. They get better each time. Given your delivery style and command of the English language, you should consider writing a book of your culinary travels. Stay well.
Thanks again James, You seem to love challenges so I hope the marathon went well and you achieved your goals. Excellent double reviews. It's hard to imagine how you stay so trim. It's probably the fact that you're always on the go burning calories. You eat with such enthusiasm, we can almost taste the food. A side bar question, did you ever find an apartment for yourself. Just hoping you're in a happy place. Best, Rich
Thanks for watching! Yeah, as much as I love eating, I'm always staying active. No, unfortunately I haven't found my own apartment yet, but I'm working towards it.
Oh my, those ribs looked delicious! And the main course at City House featured mustard greens which I think is a very underutilized ingredient. The salad and dessert looked fabulous too.
Very good lookin food there buddy…hopin u share some of your marathon and maybe your time…I remember that last one u had a great time so if u don’t mind sharing lol…keep it up buddy
As always, great video! I love Graham Greene, my favorite so far is “Travels With My Aunt". I love his implicit humor and unpredictable story lines as in his most read book “The Quiet American“. How is it with “The Orient Express“? It is the only one I did not read yet.
Thank you! Yeah, I'm a big Graham Greene fan too. I enjoyed "The Orient Express". It's not as good as some of his later works, but it still has that style of his that I enjoy. I haven't read "Travels With My Aunt" yet, but I'll definitely have to check it out.
A lot of things seem walkable, but there were definitely places that you would need a car to get to. Later in my trip, I took a few Ubers. From what I hear, their public buses don't seem to be the best.
Thank you! Yeah, I'm definitely a Graham Greene fan! I still haven't read all of his most notable books, but my favorite of his that I've read so far is The Quiet American.
They were expensive! I stayed in a motel, which was a pretty lengthy walk from the downtown area and I paid around $150 a night and that was one of the most affordable I could find. Although, to be fair, I was in the city during a more touristy time.
Oooh, i wonder what happens next episode? Will James get mugged? Trip at the start line? Cheat and catch an Uber to the finish? End up embroiled in a Nashville hot romance? I'm unable to cope with the cliffhangers!
I know what you mean. It's technically considered a pasta, but the important thing for me that day was that it was carb heavy, which was what I wanted before the race.

Hey could you review Max Downton in Hartford, CT? Not too far from NYC, it’s a really special chop house. My favorite restaurant of all time.
I definitely want to visit Hartford someday and I'll try to keep that restaurant in mind.
Hendrix and Martin’s BBQ. You had a great trip.🐖
I definitely did!
Is a car needed to get around Nashville or do they have public transportation for tourists? Thanks in advance
A lot of things seem walkable, but there were definitely places that you would need a car to get to. Later in my trip, I took a few Ubers. From what I hear, their public buses don't seem to be the best.
You really need to come down to Texas at some point!
I'll definitely do!
The food looked amazing. Also, what was your time in the marathon if you don't mind me asking?
It was great food indeed! I think my time was something like 3 hours and 24 minutes, but I'll have a precise time when I make my next Nashville video.
Dude I am so jealous you are young and handsome and can eat all this food!
Thank you!

Did you bring coffee on your marathon? I can just imagine you with coffee instead of water at times
Haha! No, but I did consume a few energy gels during the race, which at least had caffeine in them.
Have you tried L"APARTMENT 4F in Brooklyn?
I've been there once and I enjoyed it. I really want to go back sometime and try their croissant cereal.
Try a steak in Nashville, bet its amazing and cheaper than NYC
Yeah, there were definitely some steakhouses in the city that I was interested in trying.
This or michelin star restaurant which is better?
It would depend on the mood I'm in. When it comes to eating, I like variety.
Did you get Nashville hot chicken?
I did. That will be in an upcoming video.
If you're going to go somewhere that preaches whole hog, get the whole hog. Otherwise it looks good.
Yeah, I didn't know that until I was making the video on the restaurant. Still, I don't regret my order. It was delicious!
Peg Leg Porker is the best BBQ in Nashville. Martin’s is a tourist spot.
That was one I wanted to check out as well, but that will have to be for another trip.
To Be Continued....😊
Stay tuned!
Why is it, when you take a bite of something, usually a sandwich or burger, you barely scrape your teeth on it? You never dig into it with a big bite.
I like to savor the food and the moment.
Are gnocchis considered as pasta? That seems strange.
I know what you mean. It's technically considered a pasta, but the important thing for me that day was that it was carb heavy, which was what I wanted before the race.
Very weak bbq at this place
