Lollapalooza set the table. I saw them do this live in Sacramento, standing right in front of MISA. This version takes it to perfection. Wow. Maybe the best single straight-up rock performance preserved on video in a decade. Thank you for coming back to Band-maid to check this out.
This special G vs. B battle version of "HATE?" is thought to have been originally arranged as a highlight of the Lollapalooza Chicago stage performance last August. As a special version, it was first performed at Shinjuku OKYUJI (gig) in July last year before going to the U.S. At that and the following Niigata OKYUJI, it was performed as a medley (Drum solo in between) with "Unfair game". However, since the following Shizuoka OKYUJI, including Lollapalooza, all the performances have been performed as a medley relay (as the same Drum solo in between) from "DICE," and now it has become the biggest attraction at BAND-MAID gigs (Unfair game, DICE, and HATE?, all have the same BPM180).
I heard this special version of "HATE?" a total of 14 times at the venue. All of them were so amazing that they gave me goosebumps, but especially the performance at Yokohama Arena OKYUJI of this MV was the final show of their 10th anniversary tour, their monumental event in front of an audience of about 8,000 people, so the quality of the performance, the enthusiasm, and the excitement of the audience were all extraordinary. (By the way, their performance that day was an out-of-the-ordinary one, as they played more than 3 hours and 30 minutes and 33 songs in total, and this "HATE?" was the 27th song they played.)
Now that this MV has been released to the world, I hope that BAND-MAID and this performance will be widely recognized by music fans all over the world as something that will remain forever in the history of rock music.

Yokohama is the definitive live version of HATE? Lollapalooza was only let down by the camera work but this version still out does it in every way :)
...except one little detail! Miku's mic is too low!

The Lollapoloza version is more raw and intense and fun. This one is more epic though.
@@nussekuddenxxx6564 Agree...Lollapoloza her voice came through loud and clear, but at YokoAri, her guitar was a bit higher in the mix. I like you could hear her come back in towards the later half of the Mincho-MISA conversation. And Akane...well...SOLID AS EVER! PO!
Yep, this is now the definitive version of Hate. The only minor spot I think this one loses to against Lollapalooza Hate is Miku's scream was just a bit stronger and a better punctuation in Chicago. Also, when we get to see Akane raise those sticks and then come crashing down at the beginning of the song proper, that alone is a "Holy Shit!" moment on its own.
This version of Hate? is my ICHIBAN. I didn't think they could top their Lollapalooza performance but I'm so glad the ladies proved me wrong. MISA and Kanami stole the limelight with their guitar battle midway through the song. All the while, Saiki, Miku, and Akane performed flawlessly as they always do. Band-Maid doing what they do best. They are all amazing musicians, and last year's tour across the United States was a great success. (There are many videos posted) Especially the lead guitarist has composed over 130 songs and there are no bad ones. She is a true genius.

Kanami's decision to extend her solo into the reprise of the vocals is sheer genius. And it comes on top of one of the best-ever bass-guitar "battles." What an outstanding band.

Not enough people acknowledging Miku's contribution to the 2nd half of the battle. She's right in the buildup with them and you can see her up on the top stage in the background. Of course, Kanami and Misa Misa Misa hit it out of the park. Great performances all around. Akane was thunderous and Saiki on point!
Not enough people ever acknowledge Miku's importance to the overall soundscape of Band Maid songs. Her monumental chords behind Kanami and Misa's musical (but certainly not limp) gymnastics give the whole thing a scale and a grandeur that make it music, rather than a fun jam. And Akane of course, but Akane is a given.
It looks like it's been 3 years since you reacted to the music video of 'Don't you tell ME'. The band just released a LIVE video of the song from this same concert in Yokohama. Check it out please! Honestly, you will definitely not be disappointed. :D
dont get me wrong i adore all 5 of these ladies, they are all top tier musicians, but when they want to make a splash, they pull the 2 monsters in from the corners and say: we will have Akane keep the pocket but you 2 just turn it loose, it brings a tear to my eye

You should turn on subtitle, the lyrics is good, you can literally feel the hate coming out from it.
As I recall (from some of your past statements on your channel), you weren't all that big a fan of the bass until this lady named Misa came along and changed your world. (Misa changes a lot of people's worlds, in several ways). I've heard that she's quite good (excuse me while I get my tongue out of my cheek).
