What I meant in the beginning was that we are gone 160+ days out of the year and don't always have a lot of time to put together shooting videos that would meet our production quality standards because of it. So would you guys like to see more sit down videos like this with more talking to help off set that? That way you guys get more content and videos and we can continue doing the shooting videos that have higher production costs and take more time in the same quantity as usual. Let us know!

heck jerry, your comparison of the glock vs xds vs m&p, really helped point me and my wife towards our last purchase. as all of your viewers are very well aware, the concealed handgun market is growing with new options everyday. this made it very hard for me , a relatively well versed gun guru, to make an informed, best possible buy. I really did not want to go back to the local lead hole and find out a new better handgun just hit the shelf. thank you very very much. more Lena too. my wife and I are huge family and female shooter supporters.

For the average shooter that is well over a lifetime of ammunition. he said he shot the barrel out and he probably did that in around 7000-10k rounds if it was an extremely accurate gun he may have noticed accuracy loss on the lower end of the round count.that would mean he's got enough ammo to feed nearly four of these things for an average lifetime. If it were used strictly as a hunting arm as most people would use it for or occasional target practice the gun would last your lifetime.if you were a heavy hardcore shooter though you can burn the barrel out of anything but he had enough ammo to burn that barrel out three or four times over

    • @EthanPDobbins

@@teddyfresh9605 most rifles are well under half that. Even a high-quality chrome-lined 556 Barrel technically can last only to around 10k some may be able to take a little more.many a pistol Barrel could be capable of shooting thousands upon thousands of rounds with no notice of loss of accuracy. highest performance long range Target guns can go south in as low as 700 depending on what you're shooting. No the norm for long-range Target guns is about 1500. Most centerfire hunting rifles will last about 3K. Though something like a 35 rem or .45 70 or other lower heat lower velocity round could last significantly more for the shorter ranges that they may be fired at deer size game without any noticeable difference.

Yes and it's also very interesting to get perspectives from guys like Jerry who have been around a long time so you can get a more "birds eye view" of where we've been versus where we are now both in the industry and in competitions. I'm willing to bet there are a TON of stories he could tell that we would find fascinating that he doesn't believe are worth telling because he lived it and to him its "normal"... but to us it's not normal. I've seen this happen in many fields where the guys who have been there a long time don't even realize the value they have buried in their backyard

I have fired a lot of rounds. Jerry has probably missed more than I will ever shoot. And he does not often miss. The experiences that may seem mundane to him are quite fascinating to us. Does anyone know another person that has shot 30,000 8mm Mauser rounds? I've shot that many .22 rounds. Probably 75-80,000 BB's through Daisy and Crossman multi-pumps when I was a kid.

You know this may come as a surprise to some, considering I'm only 21. But I personally wish times were as simple as they were back then. I was raised in the Appalachia Mountain Range in Tennessee, I grew up learning how to live off the land, and to enjoy nature and life, as I personally think it should be. I wish all of my generation could have been raised how I was. Maybe they would be more grateful, and respectful people. But I grew up learning gun safety, and how to use guns. My pa would have killed me if I ever went messing with his guns, but he always told me if I wanted to handle and learn more to just ask. And everytime I did ask to handle, become better at using, or just to see his firearms, he would show, teach, and let me handle his guns. It wasn't very often I asked this of him, he was a blue collar working man, he was a truck driver, he was gone more than he was home. But he has always been there to help and guide me. Even to this day, in his early 60's and through every medical problem he has had, he has been there. I sat and watched him almost die when I was only 8 years old to cancer. The steroids the doctors put him on for one of the chemo treatments made him meaner than any copperhead or timber rattler I've ever seen. But in the end I always new my daddy had my back. He is the reason I am the man I am today, and I'll never be able to repay him for that. But I'll strive to pass that on if I ever have a child of my own. Because I want even better than I had as a child for any child I have, and I couldn't have asked for more out of my parents. I've got big shoes to fill, but the classic old school life, is full of life lessons that cannot, and will never be taught in a public school classroom. I have a lot of respect for the older generations that teach these types of things to the young, instead of just acting better than them.
For my sake, and this country's sake, I hope every adult thst supports American freedom has taught their child(ren), how to survive off of more than the status quo of today.
Keep it American folks, I don't care if you've served or not, because the last member of my family that I know of, that has served in combat is my dads grandfather, but keep it American.
And if you have served, you have my respect.
Signed yours truly, a modern seventeen hundreds kind of patriot.
If a war comes to America, I'll defend my homeland, because I love here and my family, and I'll fight till I die to protect it.

Best part of the video is your relationship with the gun, which is so interesting. This is what's different from others who do best or worse type videos. Lots of their recommendations after having only limited experience with the weapon but yours is a life's story which I find fascinating as a professional shooter. Thanks

Jerry, you may or may not realize this, but your ability to speak about guns, ammo, cartridges, scopes, & shooting in general is appreciated by many of us because you are so articulate. By that I mean you understand your subject thoroughly and you can talk about it masterfully. Keep talking, Jerry, and consider becoming a great internet gun teacher. You could be the "Clay Ballard" of guns & ammo.

Taken lots and lots of rabbits and rattlesnakes with it on the ranch. Great memories brought back with this video. Thank you!

STI International is one of the most underrated brands. This channel is almost the only place I see them. Yes, they specialize in competition 1911/2011s but they do make several models suitable for defense and carry. My carry weapon is an STI 1911 Escort. I never understood why you don't hear much about the company that makes the best 1911s in the world.

Jerry you really brought back some memories with this one. I thought I would tell you about mine. I’m 78 years old, born in Seymour Texas and my first gun was a Remington rolling block 22. So when I went shooting I got 5 rounds for all day. This turned me into a very good shooter, my record was six prairie chickens with 5 rounds. A bunch of toms were dancing and two of them got lined up and I shot. My second one was a Remington gallery 22 rifle. I shot that one so much that finally i was shooting dimes out of the air. My record was 5 dimes in one throw. My favorite gun is the M1. When I got to the Army in 1958 I found a home, on qualifying I shot a perfect round. That got the first sergeant excited and he made me shoot the whole thing again I missed one. Thank god the sun was sitting or I think I would still be out there on that KD range. I started of shooting a Remington new model cap and ball and that old gun gave me a lot of fun but accurate it was not. When the Army had me shoot a pistol it was an old 1911 and I was in love again, of course it was old and loose but I still managed to qualify expert. Since then I have shot them all but some how those old guns are still my favorites. As far as expensive guns go I was invited to shoot driven pigeons in Spain and my host asked me to shoot in the last days “ high pigeon “ shoot. I said sure. The idea is to shoot as many pigeons in the time with what ever gun they handed you next. ( The “ Driven Pigeon “ is shot with five side by side 12 or 20 gage shotguns they were handed to you as shot, two rounds here comes the next gun. When I won the “ high pigeon “ that day my host congratulated me and asked how it felt to shoot a double million. I asked him what he meant? He told me that I had shot that round with King Faoud’s guns which were worth one million dollars for the five and the king had bet one million dollars on me winning Jerry I have to tell you I looked those guns over a lot, but I couldn’t see $200,000 in all five let alone one gun.
