    This may be what I need to get back surfing - my shoulder injury prevents me paddling with both arms. A boost would be great to get out the back - stuff what anyone else thinks, I’ve earned my waves over the years.

    Great video, but this doesn't really show durability, more so functionality. I would like to know can it take a few physical hits and still keep on working? Can it get scarped by reef and keep on working for example?

      Thank you! It's made of Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer. These materials are distinguished by high mechanical strength, hardness, rigidity, thermostability and resistance to hot lubricants and hot water. Parts made from them show dimensional stability and high creep strength. So to answer your question, yes :)

    Anybody who brings this to the lineup, your going to get bullied off the line up

      If people follow etiquette in the lineup it shouldn't be an issue 😉

      Using fin is helping you reach the higher waves, but not destroying existing skills

    This is a great idea for life guards but not for regular surfers. Hopefully I will not see this in my community in the future

    How long does the battery last?

    • @boostsurfing
      @boostsurfing  4 года назад

      There are 2 modes - long boosts for paddling out (or continuous for cruising SUP) and short boosts for catching waves. By default, it’s set to 8 and 20 secs accordingly but that can be easily adjusted in the mobile app, as well as the power output. One fully-charged battery provides 100 short boosts at full power which in our experience is enough for 1.5 surf sessions. With different setups you can get even more out of it.
      If we are talking about continuous use, total runtime is 20 mins at 100% motor power. Set it to 30-40% which is enough for cruising on a SUP and it'll be 30-45 mins depending on conditions, sometimes longer. This is enough to be able to go a little further out and actually make it back in with the wind blowing strong. And again, it doesn't have to be on all the time. Use it as a safety net if you'd like. The fun element alone is worth it but can also help you out in certain situations.

      @boostsurfing  4 года назад

      Not a problem! You can always find the optimal to use it. Everything can be adjusted in the app before the session (power and duration settings)

    Most horrible invention ever, sharks will love it and thisjust destroys the soul of surfing. This has nothing to do with the precious art of surfing anymore. Maybe yes for people with a disability or the elderly, everyone else should learn to paddle. This will cause trouble at any surfspot with a little reputation. Locals will just smash the fin out if they see you coming with this. Learn to paddle, sit and wait for your turn, no shortcuts.

      Later tests determined that sharks hear frequencies ranging from 10 to 800 Hz and we use 30 MHz.
      Similar stuff was said about wetsuits, short boards, fibreglass boards, gorilla grip, removable fins, reef booties, jet ski tow-ins, internet surf reports, surf cams, and just about everything else you now use every day. Wave respect is a separate issue. If you think that this is a negative advance for surfing, then go cut down a tree, carve out a board yourself, and surf your local break with no leg rope and without checking any swell forecast. That’s the “original” way to do it.
      There are always going to be people who don’t accept change, and that’s ok. Throughout our testing in different locations and counties never have we run into any negative interactions, only genuine curiosity and excitement. And we believe that it‘ll stay the same as long as people using it respect others in the lineup. Snaking is out of line for anyone, can't argue with that. Respect should always come first and we will do our best to let our customers know about it in case they are new to surfing.
