I always been using snapon scan tool for many of years one scan can't do all the work that's why you got to have more than one some times snapon does some car's better than my lanuch or aute.l autel and lanuch does some car's better than snapon that's why you got to have more than one scan tool.
@@mastertechrob1522 hi nice video bro 😎 I have a question my Solus edge everytime I plug it in a Toyota it blind all the lights on the dashboard I hope it’s the cable . Any advice thanks
I have this exact scanner. It is awesome. I do have the subscription to keep it updated. I use it everyday in my job and on the side. I will update to the D10.
This is the modis edge. The Zeus can do way more and is am excellent scanner. The Ethos does very well for how much it can do. The new one compsrible to modis is the Apollo
No. My autel 908 pro gets used every day. 15k snapon zues just sits unused most of the time. No one scan tool does it all however higher end autel units are very hard to beat.
I’ve known about snap-on for decades now and I’m old, most of the time in the early days it’s selling point on spanner’s and screwdrivers was a lifetime guarantee, but it’s aways be one of those status iver lott brands, not for the Tony broke mechanic..either way the tools are overpriced…
Sorry for the late reply. Ethos does not have the lab scope built it. I'm not sure about guided component test either. The guided component test is the big buying point for me
@@mastertechrob1522 sure was but I'm restoring his 47 foot boat and putting my heart into it,, like you I wouldn't pay 6000 dollars for a scanner, l told him I wanted to invest around 800 and I'm sure he took a loss,, even used there well worth 3000
Do I have to update my snap on scanner every year. I’m wanting to use it for reading motor and transmission codes and live data. I know updates will let me access newer models and such. Can I get away with a update every 3-4 years
So far it sucks for coding the alarm into my E46 BMW. Its supposed to be simple but nope, no luck. Good thing I borrowed it from my friend, who paid $4000 for it.
No snap-on scan tool will accommodate this procedure. You’ll need a PC to run the GM software, you’ll need an account to purchase the flashing subscription, and a J2534 device to connected your PC to the car. Unless you’re going to do this 50x year, it’s worth it to just pay a mobile flash guy or the dealer.
I love the orange color of your snap on box.

I have noticed that. I 100 Percent agree. I feel like Autel does better with Honda's and Toyota's in my opinion

It sounds like a short in the cable. I would replace the cable first.
@@robhumphries1936 thanks bro
@@videshsookram9810 I heard theres an issue with Toyotas and scanner causing electrical problems if you don't have an update. Might check into it.
Can it disable and enable Air ride suspension on range rovers?
I'm not 100 percent sure. I would guess yes. Only temporarily

I’m looking at getting one used. Do you have to pay to use it over time or just for the updates?
@jakefoskett1604 sorry for the late reply. Just for updates. The subscription will save you money. FYI. I did upgrade to the D10. It's even better.
I personally think they're worth every penny
What snap on scanner is it is it the ethos edge is it the Zeus I would like a little bit more detail besides Snap-On scanner

So to program any module airbag to any car need to register with snap on account or ?
My husband boss wants to pass him software to laptop...is that same diagnostic testing??.
will you lose some functions on snap on Apollo d9 if you didn't update?
How deep into the video does one have to go to get to where you tell us the name of the friken scanner and the version?
Uh.... shows clearly as soon as he picks it up, it is a Modus Edge. Like 49 seconds in.
I've heard the Snap-On Ethos Edge has the same functionality and is cheaper. Can you confirm this?

How much does it cost to update??
Totally agree,, l just got a Snapon MODIS ULTRA from my Snapon guy 2019 19.4 750 dollars he hooked me up

You do not HAVE to. only optional. It will not stop working.
Can that snap on scanner scan a 1997-1999 VR/VS Holden Commodore?
What is the intro song?
I'm not quite sure. I don't remember. Lol
Can you do throttle recent on

Can you do regens with this?
Yes you absolutely can.
Great review
Is it good for marine vehicles
It is not.
Snap-on does make a dedicated tool for motorcycles and PWCs, it’s called the P1000

I have to flash the BCM on Chevrolet Cruze for Factory fog light addition. Will the Modis Edge do the trick ? Thanks
No. You will need a j234 device/ jbox and run acdelco flashing software (tds) or have a dealer do it. They can usually do it for 1 labor hour
@@robhumphries1936 what is a j234 device and s can a snap on run acdelco flash ?
A j2534 let's you run OEM diagnostics and flashing. Snap on cannot do this.
