I watched moth back in the day when he was actually advocating for families affected by self inflicted forever sleep. The most disappointing thing for me to learn about was his discord having minors in it.
Did he actually do anything for those families or just spoke about them/mentioned they existed/spread awareness? Genuinely curious because the latter is super easy for anyone to do so it doesn't really say anything about the creator if they bring it up. Just a way to look like a decent person whilst doing bare minimum.

Moth acts like how I acted as a teenager, before I realised how messed up I was by various abuse. Hes a full grown adult though (with a child I believe) and has such an inflated ego. Then he just kept getting more depraved, and when I heard there was even the slight possibility he watched or listened to the audio of the “daisy” video, I couldn’t watch him anymore.

@@dendrien morbid curiosity is a pretty common thing and there’s quite a few people that do the same thing as him but only talk about what information is out there that’s been distributed through the proper channels such as law enforcement, not personal experience and watching the material themselves. That being said, most people thought he wouldn’t go as far as to actually watch or listen to probably the worst video that’s been somewhat widely distributed on the darkest corners of the internet.

I used to watch Moth when he gave summaries of viral gore videos, my morbid curiosity was insatiable back then but I didn't want to subject myself to those images. It always ircked me how he seemed so jovial when discussing the most horrific topics imaginable, he would even sometimes make crude jokes about the victims. I watched him solely because there was no other source of information regarding certain videos as reliable as his channel, I never really liked him but he was useful for stabilising my then spiralling mind. I'm a lot better now and I never seek out information about gore 'media', it's really a shame he had to become so terrible
I used to be curious about that stuff too, then I read the description of a certain video and it was genuinely the worst, most evil thing I could ever imagine someone doing. Nothing phased me as much as this description and the accompanying (non-explicit) screenshot. I shut down for the next couple days trying to process the feelings and images my mind was creating in reaction to the existence of that And in the process of this I realized I've reached the end point, there's nothing to be curious about, I found pure unfiltered evil and its nothing to be fascinated with. It's fairly simple really, to understand that person's motives. I didn't want to ask questions anymore. I didn't care to know any more about the man than I already knew. I didn't want to stare at his face or listen to the way he speaks and carries himself the way I used to do with serial killers I was fascinated with, like Ed Kemper. And I haven't sought out any true crime or video descriptions ever since. I guess that's a positive, but also I feel like the knowledge of that video has cut into some part of me. All I'll say is when I see puppies or dogs, especially female dogs, I feel an intense urge to hug them and cry like a child. I hold back, but it's always in my mind, I can't make it go away. I wonder if my dogs pick up on this

I didn't follow him any where else outside of youtube, and seeing it now kind of just makes me sad. Like I'm watching him eat himself alive with his own intrusive and impulsive actions.
i remember being in a similar spot and i think that’s why this content is so dangerous, not just blatantly disgusting and disrespectful. i was a teenager watching this and i was lucky enough to have access to resources that helped my mental health, but there are plenty of people who are falling downs these rabbit holes of content and not having access to any support, or even being encouraged not to seek help. i still have a long way to go in terms of recovery but i can’t imagine where i’d be mentally if i had continued watching his content

so glad you’re talking about moth. I used to watch this persons channel a lot as an edgy teen and i’ve grown to understand how vitriolic and genuinely evil it is to dedicate yourself to making fun of and laughing at the darkest recesses of humanity.
i used to be a decently-active moth viewer a while back. i watched their content because i'm passionate about true crime, mortuary science, and the culture around death and (and i plan on becoming a funeral director in the future). at first i enjoyed their content covering true-crime cases i'd already heard of, but as i kept watching the more disgusted i felt by their behavior when talking about such gravely serious subjects. my final straw was the "1 girl 99 stomps" video. i was BEYOND angry and distraught seeing moth not only LAUGH, but COUNT STOMPS. no normal, healthy, and empathetic person would EVER treat death that way, much less the person who passed. i believe the dead are extremely vulnerable and deserve respect and gentle care, just as if they were alive, and it was absolutely infuriating seeing moth LAUGH watching that footage. nothing else makes my blood boil that way.

My boyfriend had unlimited internet access as a kid and ended up watching many videos like these. He's 19 now and only just starting to realize the trauma it caused him later in life and he is unfortunately still heavily affected by it.
I actually watched PlaguedMoth's content a year or two ago. I enjoy dark content (stuff like Nexpo, Nick Crowley, Hannahthehorrible, etc) and not wanting to actually see any gore, because I have a very active imagination and I fear to imagine what it would come up with, PlaguedMoth's content satisfied that curiosity. Can't say I particularly liked the guy though. I've heard and seen his downfall in snippets. What a strange, strange, individual.

Plagued Moth is a genuine PoS. Watched him a while back and dropped off soon after seeing his 99 stomps video. After the whole situation with TCR, I saw how much of a creepy he is. Glad that you're covering him.
Shame I used to be a sub of his channel, because he is so unhinged. I know that Lazy Bedhead investigated Plagued Moth between 2022-2023 before helping the Mysterious Mr. Enter and Lio Convoy expose StarGiant Productions from 2023-2024. Both investigations were worth watching, and have plenty of hilarious moments. After the case against Rebeccah, Nekopan, and Mystic Mongrel, I highly suggest she'd investigate RUclips The Hedgehog, Edgar Neli, and TamatoaGamingDa after in the future, so they would garner a comeuppance for their actions, much like the former two discussed on her channel.
Only got through a handful of his videos before ignoring them, the few where he was actually talking about the details of a case/video was interesting but then all I kept seeing afterwards were him basically wincing into the camera and saying "errrmmmm thats gotta hurt" Then he started getting into drama and I just completely turned away.
I'll never forget him for making videos on the same CP video three times. First time, okay, I get it it's a serious topic. But three times? Why you want to talk about the same thing again and again? He also heavily focused on abuse on children... Used to watch him because at the beginning he used to explain the gore videos until the recent ones where he outright showed it! Despite the blur you could've still watched people being hacked to death! And the sound....ugh.....can't believe his channel stayed up for so long.

I noticed Moth pretty early and thought, even back then when he didn't show the videos SEMI BLURRED, that it was very cringe to basically make a profit off of the tragedy that other people have not only gone through and experienced, but were RECORDED for the world to see, and now this guy was reacting, laughing, and making money from it. And then he got too big for his own head, thinking he was the new rice krispies cereal or some sh*. Not sad he is gone.

If that’s true then yes id argue basing an entire video’s research on another video which isn’t the main source is somewhat of a problem, you’re just summarizing/rephrasing what’s been said and then use those videos as clips/context. No, the story doesn’t change if he did his own research, but that doesn’t mean he should just watch a video and basically regurgitate it

I used to be a Plauged Moth and ThatCreepyReading fan. When they started beefing, I had both sides of the story coming at me at the same time. Moth is a hyprocrite. He has no problem exploiting people for clout, but when people call him out on his bs, he thinks that its an attack on him personally and his family. I stopped watching Moth after a while bc of that whole beef. I still like TCR's content, and hope that he along with others can get Moth out.

There are officers who’s job it is to watch those terrible videos (I’m referencing particularly csam but they have to watch the gore stuff too), because obviously if you’re going to convict someone you have to look at the evidence. It’s typically one or two officers, who then make a write up about what’s in the video so no one else has to watch it. They are offered (and most of the time take) extensive therapy to cope with the things they see. If you are watching those things FOR FUN there is something wrong with you. I say that with my chest.
If you're somehow finding joy in content with babies in pain you're too far gone past any point of redemption. As a dad I cannot find any middle ground between myself and this guy who's somehow fathered children. Not existing would be a net positive to the world.

i remember being in a similar spot and i think that’s why this content is so dangerous, not just blatantly disgusting and disrespectful. i was a teenager watching this and i was lucky enough to have access to resources that helped my mental health, but there are plenty of people who are falling downs these rabbit holes of content and not having access to any support, or even being encouraged not to seek help. i still have a long way to go in terms of recovery but i can’t imagine where i’d be mentally if i had continued watching his content

i used to be a decently-active moth viewer a while back. i watched their content because i'm passionate about true crime, mortuary science, and the culture around death and (and i plan on becoming a funeral director in the future). at first i enjoyed their content covering true-crime cases i'd already heard of, but as i kept watching the more disgusted i felt by their behavior when talking about such gravely serious subjects. my final straw was the "1 girl 99 stomps" video. i was BEYOND angry and distraught seeing moth not only LAUGH, but COUNT STOMPS. no normal, healthy, and empathetic person would EVER treat death that way, much less the person who passed. i believe the dead are extremely vulnerable and deserve respect and gentle care, just as if they were alive, and it was absolutely infuriating seeing moth LAUGH watching that footage. nothing else makes my blood boil that way.

I actually watched PlaguedMoth's content a year or two ago. I enjoy dark content (stuff like Nexpo, Nick Crowley, Hannahthehorrible, etc) and not wanting to actually see any gore, because I have a very active imagination and I fear to imagine what it would come up with, PlaguedMoth's content satisfied that curiosity. Can't say I particularly liked the guy though. I've heard and seen his downfall in snippets. What a strange, strange, individual.

Shame I used to be a sub of his channel, because he is so unhinged. I know that Lazy Bedhead investigated Plagued Moth between 2022-2023 before helping the Mysterious Mr. Enter and Lio Convoy expose StarGiant Productions from 2023-2024. Both investigations were worth watching, and have plenty of hilarious moments. After the case against Rebeccah, Nekopan, and Mystic Mongrel, I highly suggest she'd investigate RUclips The Hedgehog, Edgar Neli, and TamatoaGamingDa after in the future, so they would garner a comeuppance for their actions, much like the former two discussed on her channel.

I used to be a Plauged Moth and ThatCreepyReading fan. When they started beefing, I had both sides of the story coming at me at the same time. Moth is a hyprocrite. He has no problem exploiting people for clout, but when people call him out on his bs, he thinks that its an attack on him personally and his family. I stopped watching Moth after a while bc of that whole beef. I still like TCR's content, and hope that he along with others can get Moth out.

There are officers who’s job it is to watch those terrible videos (I’m referencing particularly csam but they have to watch the gore stuff too), because obviously if you’re going to convict someone you have to look at the evidence.
It’s typically one or two officers, who then make a write up about what’s in the video so no one else has to watch it. They are offered (and most of the time take) extensive therapy to cope with the things they see.
If you are watching those things FOR FUN there is something wrong with you. I say that with my chest.
