Nice! "Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)" is so sweet even The Rolling Stones covered it long after they needed to cover other artists. The Temptations were one of the top groups signed to Motown in the sixties. When you're ready for more from them also check out "My Girl", "The Way You Do The Things You Do", "Since I Lost My Baby", "Ain't Too Proud To Beg", "Get Ready", "(I Know) I'm Losing You", "Cloud Nine", "I Can't Get Next To You", "Ball Of Confusion (That's What The World Is Today)", "Papa Was A Rollin Stone", and "Superstar (Remember How You Got Where You Are)".
I was a teenager when this song came out and I still feel warm all over when I hear it. I know what you meant when you said a song like this could put you to sleep. It has that soothing quality. I love your reaction to the old-school music because you seem to have such appreciation for it.
"The Temptaions", one of my favorite groups. Grew up with their music. Love this song. Liked how your absorbed the vocals and lyrics. Liked your reaction. ✌️
This has to be in the top 3 songs of all time at the "Motown" record label. Everyone knows this song, and if they don't, they're way too young. Thanks for this my friend
I LOVE this song…it takes me back some 50+ years ago to my college days. Actually for all the wrong reasons…no girl or love affair, but a report I had to do on a project that I “supposedly” did for one of my classes…the report I wrote was quite good and detailed…BUT…everytime that I would work on it, I was reminded by my roommate (a big strapping guy) singing in a beautiful tenor voice that it was “just his ‘magination running away with him”! I should be ashamed, but it’s such a wonderful (and funny) memory that I’m not!
This is your introduction to the greatest r&b/soul group of all time and the yardstick by which all the other r&b /soul groups are measured. This song was released in early 1971,it was written by the late Norman Whitfield and the late Barrett Strong, legendary Motown songwriters. The Detroit symphony orchestra provided the music. The lead voice was that of the late great Eddie Kendrick, one of the great first tenor /falsetto singers of the early 60s to the 70s. Eddie Kendrick inspired so many tenors that came after.Note how softly he sang the song,it was not that he was unable to sing higher. The songwriters wanted him to sing very delicately, it is very difficult to sing that softly without your voice breaking. This proves what a great singer Mr.Kendricks,in fact he sang more like a first tenor than a falsetto. Here are some other Temptations songs you csn listen to with Eddic K. singing lead ; Dream come true, The girl's alright with me ,Born to love you, Please return your love to me, Try to remember, You'e my everything and I'm the exception to the rule.Eddie Kendrick died in Oct.1992 at the age 52 from lung cancer. In his later years he lost a lung and his voice had deserted him. He was always tall and very lean, however in his last days he was a shadow of himself. He went from a man standing 6ft. 1",147 lbs. to 6ft. 1" 120 lbs.It was really tragic. Make you listen those songs ASAP. Looking forward to your reaction.
Not that I know anything about music, but it seems to me that this is a very complicated song. I can see where it would take a lot of takes to make it sound as dreamy as it does.
THE EISLEY BROTHERS - "" Voyage To Atlantis ''" 70s R&B/SOUL/MOTOWN Classics// and also Check out this group of the same Genre even if the Algorithm doesn't show you on your computer screen I know for a fact that you'll like these groups too, THE BLACKBYRDS - " Walking In Rhythm "(Movin' In Sound) 70's R&B/SOUL/MOTOWN Classics i guarantee you'll like these songs theres no two songs from this genre that sound alike each has its own AMAZING Creative SOULFUL SOUND

One of the two brilliant sides of the Temptations. Classic Motown like this and the more serious funk sound like "Ball of Confusion".
Eddie Kendricks had that soft falcetto, smooth as butter.
Beautiful classic thank you for playing❤❤❤❤❤
In ‘71 I was 20,and very affected by this group, also Smokey Robinson and the miracles
❤❤❤ always LOVE the Tempations ❤
I was 11 at the time in 1971. Yes, the words did not impact me, but the smooth sound, very nice.
1960! 😄

This is 1 of my favorites by The Temptations. It's just wonderful.
I just love the feelings I get when I run across these songs from my childhood. So many feelings and memories come rushing in. ❤️
This is my favorite Motown song , and there were a bunch of great ones .
The Temptations are flawless.
Being born in Detroit in 1963 and just 5 minutes from Motown recording studio, I grew up listening to all the artists.
Their best song .in the top 100.of all time
Watch the movie about The Temptations.

End of my first year of college, hand surfing while cruising the Long Beach highway in a convertible Corvette.
It was not my imagination.

Great song. The Stones covered it, different but also good
If I was stranded on a deserted island and could only have one type of music to play it would be Motown!
You should check out their movie. The Temptations 🔥🔥🔥
Sad movie.
