      Another thing with the storage sensors and trade platforms is that it detects “full” as items on all 8 slots of the trade platform, so items that have a less than one-to-one ratio, such as hematite, will still have the scrap itself fall off then when it gets activated to blast off, so there’s still some finagling that’ll havta be done

    Using a player drill with a wide mod on leveling mode on the floor of a gateway chamber, you can then use a drill attached to a crane to collect infinite soil. Other than the gasses, this would make the system fully automatic.

    This is a lot more complicated than it needs to be
    If you have the Trade rockets on a Med platform B and block one side of the Med P B with an item that can't be picked up like an unopened platform, then on the other side have a small storage with a storage sensor on it linked to the arm holding scrap set to Empty/ Not Empty to disable the scrap arms whenever anything is on the storage
    To ensure no scrap goes onto the storage just make sure the deposit ring doesnt touch the storage and it only needs to touch any part of the trade rocket to place scrap onto it
    Doing it this way once a rocket returns all the items it comes back with will automatically move onto the storage saving you from needing an arm as a buffer

    Lights in my bases turn on and off automatically depending on the local sunlight. i´ve been using counters related to ful/empty sensors and timers to control incoming resources via autoarms for at least two years. You can feed trade platforms at your wish and counters will activate them. Counters became the programing interface after all. You can build a "Soil-into-any resource programmable facility". and a "programmable chemistry double lab" to get everything you need in 10% the space of this build. I also built a "Moveable auto-multiprinter platform" and a "Astronium-into..." facility. Them all act by themselves, until completing the program or depleting resources , after proper programming and just pressing a START "button". Powering and unpowering facility parts via automation is a "Powerful" resource to consider while designing facilities. Not that easy and not that difficult. Farewell, Astroneers!

    I know most people are not gonna make this contraption. So I have a suggestion. Make the nanocarbon alloy manually and do every step. But instead of one make 32. Have medium resource canisters and use extra lage platforms. That way you don't even need auto arms, because if you have two devices two stroage and and 3rd final storage then it can all fit automatically and chemistry lab will be able to take resource from the platform. Once you have 32 nano carbon alloy I doubt you will need more. but you can always just repeat the step once you are done.

    I'm not clear on the benefit of trading for organic as opposed to spinning it up in a separate soil centrifuge?
    Maybe someone can check my math, but:
    1 Small Canister of Soil spins into 4 Resins
    4 Resins prints into 4 Small Canisters
    4 Small Canisters shred into 1 Scrap
    1 Scrap trades into 2 Organics.
    But...
    1 Small Canister of Soil spins into 4 Organics.
    So, twice as many Organics as trading.

      It's more soil efficient, yes, but the automation of that would be highly annoying and you would only save 0.25 canisters per nanocarbon alloy, so it isn't worth it.

    Hey WCJ! I really need you to see this comment! I invented a way to automatically send the trade platform's rocket to space only when it is full, without the use of timers. My contraption is thus more reliable. You need:
    1 L platform B
    1 medium storage
    9 compound
    1 trade platform (obviously)
    1 storage detector
    1 count repeater
    1 button repeater
    Now, you place ur platform down, and place the trade platform on it. Then, you fill the left side of the L platform B with 2 compound, and place a medium storage on the right side of the platform B. Then, you place 7 compound in the storage. Now, you place a storage detector on the medium storage (ONLY THE STORAGE, IT CANNOT BE CONNECTED TO THE PLATFORM) and set it to FULL OR NOT FULL , you place a count repeater on the ground next to the platform B, and set it to 4. Now, you have to connect the storage repeater with it's cable to the count repeater. Connect the count repeater with it's cable to the trade platform. You should have ONE empty socket in the medium storage, and let's call this one socket "socket important" . Now, the hardest part: place a button repeater on the ground, and connect it with it's cable to the count repeater. Now read CAREFULY:
    - if ur trade platform is full with scrap, and you have one scrap in the medium storage's " socket important" , use the button repeater to send FOUR signals to the count repeater.
    - if the "socket important" has a scrap in it, and the rocket isn't on the trading platform but in outer space, fo NOT send a signal to the count repeater.
    - if the "socket important " has a scrap in it, and your trade rocket has a mix of scrap and the ressource you're trading for, do NOT send a signal to the count repeater.
    - if the "socket important" is empty, and your trade rocket isnt full of scrap, but still has some of the ressource you trade for then send a ONE signal the the count repeater.
    - if the "socket important" has the ressource you ' re trading for, send TWO signals to the count repeater.
    - if the trade platform is FULL of scrap, and the "socket important" is empty, then send THREE signals to the count repeater.
    - if the trade platform and the "socket important" are both empty, then send THREE signals to the count repeater.
    Once the final step is done, you can remove the BUTTON repeater. Your trade platform is finally automated.
    IMPORTANT info: the auto arm loading the trade platform and the auto arm unloading the trade platform with scrap has to also have the "socket important" within it's range. Additionally, the unloading arm has to have the ressource you're trading for as a filter.
    This can also be used for astronium and fault finder trading; just replace "scrap" with "astronium" or "fault finder".
    I hope you'll find this helpful, wish you a great day and im sorry for my English as it is not my main language.

    • @worldclassjerk-epicgamer
      @worldclassjerk-epicgamer  6 месяцев назад

      It's twice as cheap to get both of those through scrap conversion.
      The only thing that would be cheaper to get from the centrifuge is the organic for the carbon, but it's not worth saving only half a canister per nano to most people since that would require you to add a lot of annoying automation of allocating soil from the original centrifuge to a different centrifuge at the start.

  • @Jagged2003
    @Jagged2003 10 месяцев назад +1

    Great tutorial. Very easy to understand. I do have a couple of suggestions to simplify the build and operating processes.
    First, I suggest building this plant on Vesania instead for a couple of reasons. 1st, it has 3 of the 4 gases you need and 2nd it has high levels of lithium. If you build an auto extractor network on lithium nodes, coupled with the nanocarbon alloy this plant is making, and you can make an automatic RTG plant. All the second part is optional but makes it a good fit. BTW, you can expand the trade stage to bring in glass and make an additional titanium line to make an automatic Large Resource Canister line. Doing both those extensions would fully automate the repeatable uses of the nanocarbon alloy.
    Second, I think the use of counters can better automate the trade stage for this plant. It would take some manual input of scrap to set up the timing, but I think it would make the build cleaner and more efficient.
    TBH I haven't played around with the automation capabilities in this game but I definitely think these would make your build more reliable and easier to operate.
    Also, have to give you compliments on the cleanliness of your build, mine are messy from the start lol.

    • @worldclassjerk-epicgamer
      @worldclassjerk-epicgamer  10 месяцев назад

      I did not realize Vesania had more of what I needed. That's an interesting fact.

      Ammonium and graphite are twice as cheap through scrap conversion. As for organic, it would only save a little bit (0.25 canisters of soil per nanocarbon) to make it into soil directly, but it would be super annoying to change a great deal of the system to keep it automatic while accurately allocating the appropriate amount of soil towards organic for each nanocarbon.
