How old you are dude? I'm 22 and have had my e30 for about 3 years now. I bought it only knowing how to do oil changes and tire pressure checks. I've since manual swapped it and got it running great on Megasquirt. I only need a few more parts before I can swap in my M30B35. It makes me really happy to see you teaching others to maintain these classic bimmers themselves. It keeps ownership costs down and teaches people new skills. Good job man!
I can already tell I'm going to be back for more pointers on my E30. This is a perfect example of of a video demonstration. Thank you very much for this!
I got stoptech stainless steel brake lines on my e30 vert installed gotta replace my brake caliper and brake caliper carriers and brake booster everything on my e30 is OG lol so it needs up to parts ive been having for 3years now
Great video, Another quick tip is to lightly tap the caliper with a small hammer when bleeding the brakes to help get those air bubbles out. Keep up the good work!
some added info to make this easier and take less time. use a vac bleeder to flush your brake fluid instead of just bleeding out the air. over time brake fluid gets water in it from the ambient air and that lowers the boiling point of the brake fluid. most auto manufacturers are starting to recommend changing the brake fluid every 2 years or 30k miles and you will notice a difference in your pedal feel. there are 2 types of vac bleeders, air powered and hand powered and one of the best brands to get is mightyvac. their air powered bleeder is about $50 and works GREAT. harbor freight sells one, but its cheaply made and doesnt last long, also not as powerful.
thank you for your help I have another problem my fuel line coming out of the fuel filter is leaking bad at top and bottom today I'm going to lift it up and change out the lines but to me it seems like it is getting too much fuel my car is running but fuel is coming out bad I changed the fuel regulator still same problem could it be the fuel pump? my friend at AutoZone told me the fuel pump could not do this Also wanted you to know that your video for changing the oil pan helped me out I have no more leaks used a cork gasket I made the same mistake using gasket sealer had leaks but no more after watching your video
at 2:53 in the video, where are those lines located? I installed CaTuned stainless lines months ago, got 6 lines like u did and thought two were just spares for the rear. come spring when I bleed my brakes again ill definantly install those.
hi I have a 1985 325e and I see that some people plug up the 325e throttle body water hose plug do you know where to run the hoses to make this work because I broken the screws also will this do any thing to the car I think it just heats the throttle from getting stuck in cold weather but I live in south Carolina ?
What would you recommend for bigger brake rotors & caliper upgrade besides going e36 m3 spindles & brakes? Is it true even the 96+ m3 spindles effect the castor & toe setting in a negative way? if anyone has installed m3 spindles I would love to hear your thoughts after installing them thanks
BBK made a big brake kit for the E30. Kinda tough to find and a bit pricey but they are out there. Stay away from UUC, the pistons leak real bad, and by what I've heard, they aren't worth it. You could also get slotted/drilled rotors from Brembo and Hawk HPS pads in the stock calipers and that combo kicks ass. I really don't want to get into the spindle setup so I couldn't give you any advice there. Thanks! (What hood do you have??)
I would go for Pads and Rotors. Pads- Hawk HPS Pads, Perform great and good price. Rotors- Textar is my choice but Balo, ATE, and Brembo are all a good choice...
Y8u cant bleed tge brakes on a car with only one 9erson not possible you need someone to pump the pedal and another person to new the bleeder , im a mechanic also you should buy automatic brake fluid feeder bottle , it goes up side down over the master Cylinder and theres a lock on it so it stay lock over the filling point

Doing a caliper exchange. Brake line stripped the threads Then I tried to undo the other side of the brake line Stripped the screw Went to the inner brake hose and it popped right out Rust is a big factor on why my shit keeps getting stripped I’m so fucking done with this car I’m replacing the brake line and new outer hose and I’m FUCKING done
How? Replacing the rubber lines absolutely improved braking performance on my car. I have a shorter stopping distance now, And when I go down a BIG hill, I don't boil my brake fluid as easy.
I know this is 3 yrs old, but for anybody wondering why stainless is an improvement. Its because the rubber lines can slightly expand upon braking pressure, giving the piston a bit less pressure on the calipers. Stainless lines wont flex nearly as much as rubber, giving more pressure to the caliper piston = more braking power
Great informative video! I would love a video on timing belt, water pump, and all aux belts. I have new pump and timing belt on but having trouble getting all belts and brackets reinstalled. Also shifter bushing replacement is giving me trouble. Feel free to checkout my IMSA E30 here...ruclips.net/video/_0RgHcF5Xig/видео.html

I have a 1985 325e BMW I purchased it in 1992 almost 25 years ago now it's 2017 I learned so much from you thank you very much again
I can already tell I'm going to be back for more pointers on my E30. This is a perfect example of of a video demonstration. Thank you very much for this!

Thanks for putting these videos together. They are very helpful. You should get some lighting, otherwise is impossible to see many parts of the video.
+Ega Yea I will try that.

+87weberdrex yep!
Coolant Flush and Bleeding DIY maybe?
You need to show where everything is properly, I'm struggling to find out where these components are, still very beneficial though.

Have you changed your fuel filter yet? It may be clogged and preventing the right flow...
Thanks!
The best way to drain the master cylinder reservoir is to use a suction tool as a turkey baster then refill with new fresh brake fluid.
How do you take the sub frame off? I've never did this kind of work. Thank you!
Great channel! Just got my first e30 that needs a little work.
Can you show parking brake lines replacement and adjustment please!!!
Ryan Richard www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/techarticles/JF-Tech/E30_Parking_brake_adj.htm
I would like to see how you took
the back brake hose off the brake line end? Or at least point it out and explain
how to do it.
love your videos man, you are really good fixing your E30
UnboxingUSABRA Thanks!
best e30 channel, you got my subscribe

They are above the rear subframe. Between the gas tank and almost above the diff/drive shaft.

GREAT channel. Subscribed.
my front brakes are making loud squeaking noises and stops when i press the brakes. should i just replace the pads or should i replace the rotors too?
I would go for Pads and Rotors.

is this vehicle equipped with the hydraulic brake system
+vic tab I'm not sure what you mean...
good vid dude; keep em coming
Mark Brown Will do!
So the needed flare wrenches are 11 and 14mm? Thanks
I would try to get a complete set of wrenches because the nuts sometimes corrode and you might have to use a slightly bigger/smaller wrench.
Dan Cronin Yep, that seems like the cheapest option anyways!
Of course!
Hi from serbia! Very Nice video! ;)
Thanks!
Great Video :) keep up the good work :)
Thanks!

Btw my brake line and hose don’t go up like yours. Mine go under the car
You forgot to post the link to the brake lines.
Sorry about that, check the description now.
very great job
Not to be overly anal but i would say this is more of a service then an upgrade if anything.
