But therefore, God does not equal the church. The church is made up of those who are trying to learn more about Him, and press deeper. Step 2: Which is morally righteous; the church or the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit, of course. What's noteworthy about us as humans is that we tend to imagine ourselves as being righteous, but the reality is that we change a lot over the course of our lives. However, the Holy Spirit and the Trinity do not, and have never changed. They are love. So because the church is made of people and not God, and His Words are eternally standing, we have no choice but to say that the Holy Spirit will have 100, too. Hope this helps a bit! However I am learning that there are others that are sinful but because of certain theological stances it is hard to see. Do you think Tattoos are still sin today? I was undecided personally but the church has a main view and it’s that it is not a sin today because it is the law of Moses, therefore it is not applicable today. However there are bad arguments for that stance. Still I submitted to the Holy Spirit to ask Him. Eventually he Answered me. Verbatim:” TATTOOS EVEN IN MY HONOR ARE STILL SIN” Funny enough that statement didn’t just let me know tattoos are sin but also called me out. I have two tattoos both relating to God only. God knew even though I was asking him sincerely … that I would succumb to my flesh twice and get tattoos anyway. So it’s perfect the way the Holy Spirit answered me. By the way, I typed that message and was falling asleep near the end of typing it, so I didn't actually mean to say that you cannot trust church teachings/messages 100%; you just have to use the discernment the Lord has promised us to see whether the Lord agrees with certain things or not. Because it seems and feels so ambiguous, it's easy to say "Well, at the end of the day it DOES honor God", but you discerned something was a little off about it, and turned to God to ask for His two-cents on it. When I refer to the church I mean either or… since like you pointed out they are kind of mixed as it stands and only God knows who HIS real church ( called out ones) are. The reason I say either one is because it is possible that both teach that something is wrong traditionally and it is actually correct via the Holy Spirit. Would it be easier to give my example first?
Well, here's your two step answer.
Step 1: As we know, God is many things. He is the creator of all, Father, Son, Holy Spirit, way, truth, life, the great I AM, etc. However, God has never claimed to be the church, and I believe with *very* good reason.
If God claimed to be the church, anyone could establish a church, and could claim anything it does to be the work of God, which God would have to admit to be true if He said that. Cults would run rampant, and morals would be cast aside so quickly. However, He never claimed that, so while some churches have moved away from God by saying everything they do is approved by Him without it actually being verified as such, many to most churches are solid in that they consolidate the Lord on all issues. But therefore, God does not equal the church. The church is made up of those who are trying to learn more about Him, and press deeper.
Step 2: Which is morally righteous; the church or the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit, of course. What's noteworthy about us as humans is that we tend to imagine ourselves as being righteous, but the reality is that we change a lot over the course of our lives. However, the Holy Spirit and the Trinity do not, and have never changed. They are love. So because the church is made of people and not God, and His Words are eternally standing, we have no choice but to say that the Holy Spirit will have 100, too. Hope this helps a bit! No church is correct in saying that they are correct; they must always be looking for more unanswered questions. Trust Him, and He will provide :)

Okay, I agree with almost all of what you said except the very last part. I think there are teachings in the church that are 100 percent correct. However I am learning that there are others that are sinful but because of certain theological stances it is hard to see.

I was undecided personally but the church has a main view and it’s that it is not a sin today because it is the law of Moses, therefore it is not applicable today. However there are bad arguments for that stance. Still I submitted to the Holy Spirit to ask Him. Eventually he Answered me.

Funny enough that statement didn’t just let me know tattoos are sin but also called me out. I have two tattoos both relating to God only. God knew even though I was asking him sincerely … that I would succumb to my flesh twice and get tattoos anyway. So it’s perfect the way the Holy Spirit answered me. By the way, I typed that message and was falling asleep near the end of typing it, so I didn't actually mean to say that you cannot trust church teachings/messages 100%; you just have to use the discernment the Lord has promised us to see whether the Lord agrees with certain things or not.
And the tattoo thing is a great example of this as well. Because it seems and feels so ambiguous, it's easy to say "Well, at the end of the day it DOES honor God", but you discerned something was a little off about it, and turned to God to ask for His two-cents on it.
I think your mindset in this is really solid my guy. Keep trusting in the Lord, and keep pushing into Him because I can just feel in the Holy Spirit that something is waiting for you currently, something that God has gone and prepared for you as simply a gift and a part of God plan for you :)
